Received Honorable Mention in Anything Goes Challenge. Sybill Trelawney has been hiding a huge secret. She’s not the witch she appears to be. Now that she is no longer in danger, she can come out of hiding and be herself. But who is she, really? And what does she want out of life?

I am a classically trained singer with three children. I love Star Trek and have watched probably every episode of every series. Favorite HP charaters are Snape and McGonagall. (not as a couple.)

Well, hopefully, since the vision where Severus kisses her hasn't happened yet, if the one where Lucius kidnaps her happens first, then we know that she must get free somehow in order for Severus to kiss her. Sorry about my grammar tonight!

Ah, your prowess at Divination is great. That little fact is a bright spot in what seems to be a hopeless situation.
I had a great grandmother that read tea leaves. I think the number of interpretations of any given group of tea leaves may have is interesting. I also hope that sentence made sense! I am enjoying this story immensely.
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
Thanks. Yes, it made sense. I would think that the whole Divination process is quite subject to interpretation. Even a vision that could seem as clear as day could have a different meaning than interpreted.
I love the sly glances and the possesive escorting that Severus is doing. His reactions clearly show he's falling for her, but hasn't admitted it yet!I can clearly see where Sybill is coming from, but she's being foolish. Why didn't Draco give his dad flase infromation? Curse, why didn't the 'little girl' just do her own reconnaissance? except to have Draco confess to Severus... and the way you paint Lucius! ooohh!
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
Severus is falling for her, but we know our Potions master. He won't be very obvious!Draco's too afraid to give his dad false info. He's been under his thumb for so long, and he's afraid of the man's wrath. Lucius wanted to find out exactly where Sybill was before doing any reconnaisance of his own. He wasn't sure whether she was still living in the castle or not.Sybill is being foolish, but I'm not sure I'd do anything differently. Well, I'm probably not that brave in real life, so I'd be running for my old Hogwarts room before Severus had even finished his first sentence. Lol.

Or his room!
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
Even better!
Sybill is certainly stubborn.
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
Oh, yes she is. She's had enough of hiding, that's for sure. Hopefully she won't get herself killed because of it.

i can't think we've come this far just to kill her off! great update. love your evil!lucius. thanks so much
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
Well, can't spoil the tension, but that would really be a bloomin' shame if she did get herself killed because of her stubbornness.Evil!Lucius is one of the most fun one's to write! The man can do anything, I think. Evil, reformed, repentant, evil, semi-evil, nice-in-disguise, evil... so many hats.

I really like this story. What a great concept for Sybill having to hide her true identity all those years. I love the interaction between her and Severus. Can't wait to read the next chapter. Bravo!

! I appreciate your kind words. Sybill is such a fun character when she's wacky, I just had to explore what might happen if all of that was a cover.

I truly like your story and I hope that you will continue with it now that the challenge is over. I am more of a SS/HG girl, but I like your Sybill and I am intrigued. Please keep writing. Heather

I too am more of an SS/HG shipper, but I just couldn't resist this prompt. I know it didn't contain a request for romance, but I just couldn't help it. Lol. The next chapter is ready to submit. I fully intend to finish this story and have it almost all done on my computer.

Umm... Sybill, dear, you don't need to go to Hogsmeade to find a good man. Someone shake the woman!
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
They're both a bit obtuse at this time. In her defense, she has had a negative relationship with him as the batty Trelawney, and really couldn't fathom them being more than friends. More will be explained eventually. You'll probably want to shake her for a while.

Yay, it seems Snape has cunningly manuevered his way to a date!
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
It seems as if he has, hasn't it?

That is so great that Harry came to see her and is taking her advice seriously. lol I just have to laugh at Severus and Hooch. That whole part was too funny. Another truly awesome and brilliant chapter. Well done, my dear.
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
We'll see more of Harry and his friends in the next chapter too. I'm glad you found the dinner scene entertaining. I think Severus was a bit put out by the whole event. He'll calm down eventully.

That was quite amusing, actually.

I think this is such a sweet story. It's nice to see these two, who were both victims of the war, now able to be free.
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
Aw, gee, thanks. It is nice to see people able to be themselves after such a long time of having to play act for someone else.

Nice start! When I read this prompt, I didn't think any one would take it up, but I'm glad you did. You've explained everything nicely.
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
Thanks! It's a bit of a different prompt and I was intrigued right from the start, but sat on it for a while until I could come up with something that I liked. I'm glad everything clicks for you and that it works.

A pillow fight. Well I never! :P
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
I would have never expected it either, but those two are quite full of surprises!

These chapters keep getting better! I love that Severus recognises what they have in common now and allows himself to be a bit vulnerable with her.
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
Thanks! The war ending has left the door open for change on many people's parts. Severus deserves to let himself be vulnerable, but I'm sure it's hard for him.

I like the friendship that's developing here! :)

I never thought I would say this, but they're kind of cute together. Who would believed that these two would ever get along?

That pillow fight was one of the funniest mental images I've gotten in a while.
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
Hopefully, it will brighten your day for a while. Even in play, Severus is out to win, it would seem.

who would have thot sev could be so understanding! thanks so much for the lovely update. the image of sev and syb having a pillow fight will stay with me a long time!
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
It is quite the happy image, isn't it? Too bad we can't see that on film somewhere. Lol.

great update! the plot thickens and i look forward to further developements. thanks so much
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
Yup, we couldn't have it all happy all the time. The poor woman wouldn't know what to do with herself. Cute teapot.

I have some catching up to do, but I loved her interaction with Hagrid here. Perfect. :)

Poor Sybill. Apparently someone ALWAYS has to meet their doom when she is involved.
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
At least when tea leaves are involved! We'll find out Severus' take on tea leaves in the next chapter.

it tasted like a burned building in liquefied formWonderful description! And now the plot thickens! Thank you for continuing this. Your story is interesting and getting more so! It's a neat touch that the Room of requiement must be cleaned by hand, not magic.
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
Some things just have to be done the old fashioned way. I'm glad you liked that part. As for my description, it was a step up from 'it tasted like cigarettes.' Lol. Thanks for your kind words.

That is too funny. Poor Hagrid can't cook to save his life. I really want that spell she used to get rid of that stuff, for lack of a better word. It sure would come in handing. He means well. Severus and Sybill are so perfect together. Working, talking, everything. Hey she could have given all that scotch away as presents and then the staff might not been so mad at her. lol Just a thought. Until next time, be well.
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
That's a good idea with the scotch. She'll have to wait a while before she can get her hands on it though. Hopefully the staff won't hold a grudge that long! Wouldn't it be wonderful to have a vanishing spell like that? I can think of several times when I wished I could make some odd concoction disappear. A nice woman's offering of tripe tacos comes to mind. Lol. Just like Hagrid, her heart was in the right place, but my stomach suffered the consequences.I'm glad you like Severus and Sybill together. They're forming a fast friendship which will get more serious as time goes on.

I really lke that Sybil has difficulty being herself after acting nuts for years and years. It wouldn't be natural if she suddenly turned into Miss Normal. Thanks for the updates.
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
I don't think that this woman will ever be Miss Normal! That would really be unbelievable.
