Received Honorable Mention in Anything Goes Challenge. Sybill Trelawney has been hiding a huge secret. She’s not the witch she appears to be. Now that she is no longer in danger, she can come out of hiding and be herself. But who is she, really? And what does she want out of life?

I am a classically trained singer with three children. I love Star Trek and have watched probably every episode of every series. Favorite HP charaters are Snape and McGonagall. (not as a couple.)
Reviews for The Real Me
Welcome home party and warm kisses. I'd move back into the castle too!
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
Yes, there are some obvious positives about moving back, but she still will miss her home. She knows the kisses will go with her back to her house, too, so, either way, she's got the good part covered.
Yay! So many wonderful kisses. It's so very wonderful to see them happy.
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
Yes, it is, isn't it? Thanks! We can just hope that the happiness continues.
Shoe shopping. Now, that's a plan! :)
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
Oh, it's so much better than planning to catch Lucius, let me tell you! *Said in a Long Island accent with a flip of my hand*
More kissing please...
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
Okay. They finally fessed up to each other, they won't be going backwards.
Well, one vision down. Do we get to see the other vision come true any time soon? Pretty please? I love this story!
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
Yes, we've gotten rid of the nastier vision. We will see the other vision come true... very soon! (Yay!) I'm so glad you're enjoying this. I think the 'batty' Trelawney is a heap of fun to write, but I have really enjoyed exploring this other side of her.
i think her vision will come true. it worries me, tho, that lucius and severus are so equally matched. great update. thanks so much
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
That is troubling. Hopefully Severus will get the upper hand next time. And her vision will come true... very soon.
Thanks for this update! I am enjoying this tale, a well- written take on an interesting challenge.

! I appreciate your review.
Well, a little anger would be in character for Severus, but I truly hope she's learned her lesson! Thanks for the intense chapter.
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
She finally has! It only took a near death experience to do it. You really can't blame Severus for being angry. She needlessly took her life in her hands, and he has the right to say "I told you so."
Response from WriterMerrin (Reviewer)
I totally agree, and I'm looking forward to the next chapter.
But he KILLED Lestrange! An Unforgivable! He's going to have to pay for that, won't he?It was foolish of Sybill to missread the warning feeling about the child, considering the circumstances, what was she thinking? Anyway, Severus did come and save the day. Too bad Lucius got away.
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
Great question. It was self defense! ...sort of. No comeuppance here. I'm sure Minerva will have a chat with the Ministry. She knows what's going on.Sybill's been rather foolish about a lot of things. Sometimes smart people do dumb things. Lestrange and Malfoy were clever to use a little girl. First off, she was pretty inconspicuous, and secondly, Sybill would be more likely to think nothing of a girl crying in an alley, as opposed to a grown man or woman lurking in the shadows. It just goes to show that even a talented Seer can sometimes misread the signs. Lucius will continue to be a thorn in their sides for a while. Nasty bugger.
OOOoooNeat. Is the room still magical?I really liked the spell resistant soot that came off in their hands But, if it resisted when it was on the walls, why did it come off them (Severus and Sybill) when it was Scourgified?
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
You'll have to see if all of their hard work will result in healing the room and making it magical again. They'll finish it eventually. As for your other question... I'm gonna look over here now. Dum de dum. Didn't really think about that. Let's just say that once it was crumbled into powder it was not resistant to the spell any longer.

it is nice of you to keep Hagrids accent. And how you are concerned about the lesser present things.like Hagrids Olympe, and what about a Room of Requirements after the battle and about restoring with pure handwork.interesting to see how sev and sybil get aquainted. more
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
Aw gee, thanks. It's the little things that count, right? Hagrid is one of my favorite characters. He desrves to be happy.

Nice chapter. Poor Hagrid, someone should really get up the gumption to be honest about his cooking, before he poisons them!
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
You're probably right. The poor man would feel much worse if he killed off someone than if someone said, "Hey, Hagrid, your cooking is worse than Voldemort's breath!"

I hope my inner eye is correct in seeing a romance brewing. This is getting better with every chapter!
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
Thanks! Oh, well, I don't think it would be giving away too much to confirm your inner eye theory. Are you a distant cousin of Sybill's?

I am really liking this version of Sybill. I love that she keeps slippinginto her 'old self' and occasionally does it on purpose. Actually it's very realistic to have her do that. The mind reading thing is a bit much, I mean the clearity of it, since she doesn't do it so often. I'd have expected a 'say that again' or 'I missed a part' in the conversation, but that's me. She seems so adept for not using it.I would have thought Severus might have been snarkier, but his demeanor was written rahter well. Very nice chapter. I'm enjoying this story more and more.
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
Thank you! Maybe the mind reading is a bit sharp, but I guess it's like riding a bike. You never forget. Lol.

WOW! I love it. I can't wait to find out how she shows her real self, considering that she's been hiding for probably more than half her life.
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
She has been hiding for more than half of her life, and she's excited to be herself. I'm glad you liked it!

Neato! Poor Sybil, hiding her light and her personality for 18 years. I look forward to her coming out 'party'- I hope we're in for a fun ride.
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
Oh we are! Can you imagine the facultys' faces when they find out?

I don't usually like Sybil fics but this was really well written and moved along great. You are brilliant. I really liked it.
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
Thank you. That is high praise! I usually only like Trelawney in a story as sort of a side gag, defintely not the main character. This prompt, however, really caught my eye and I had to write this. I hope you continue to enjoy her.

Oh, I don't think you have to apologise for saving Severus. I really liked this first chapter. You wrote it in such a way that, though it is not the character we're used to seeing, it *could* be.
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
Oh, thank you! I'm glad that Sybill is coming across as true to herself. As for Severus, he's too amazing to stay dead. Lol.

Oh, wow you nearly solved the whole prompt in one chapter. I don't mind that Sybill saved Severus - as long as he's not dead, I'm happy. I thought Dumbledore considered her batty in the Hogs Head... But I suppose it was the after the fact we knew about - still, you have made an interesting start.
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
He did think she was batty. I hope you don't mind me ignoring that little fact. We are a tad AU here, after all. Snape lives, Sybill is definitely not what she seems, and she was perfectly normal before Severus heard part of the prophecy. Yup, that's what happened.Of course, probably every Seer is a bit batty, and we'll find Sybill has a quirky sense of humor.

I totally laughed when McGonagall looked at her. I'm glad she's got a better part in stories that I usually see. Good going. :)
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
Thanks! McGonagall was a bit surprised, as will everyone else be, I suspect.

Yay! Spunky Sybill. Now maybe she and Severus...
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
Oh, thank you for saying that!! I've been excited about where this will go, but not quite sure how an audience might take it.

I am so happy to see an update on this tale! I am really enjoying it. I think you have really made this prompt your own! Thanks for sharing it with us!

! The next chapter is in the queue, and awaiting validation, so it should be up relatively soon.
Looks like Severus has some Sybill-sitting to do!
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
He's too ticked to Sybill-sit. He'll sit and stew instead.
