Received Honorable Mention in Anything Goes Challenge. Sybill Trelawney has been hiding a huge secret. She’s not the witch she appears to be. Now that she is no longer in danger, she can come out of hiding and be herself. But who is she, really? And what does she want out of life?

I am a classically trained singer with three children. I love Star Trek and have watched probably every episode of every series. Favorite HP charaters are Snape and McGonagall. (not as a couple.)
Reviews for The Real Me
Poor Hermione... though I appreciate that you treated her as a yougn woman and not the fully mature woman everyone else assumes she will be.

She was actually quite fun to write this way. I'm one of those who usually ages her into her twenties so she's outgrown much of her silliness. It was fun to write her like this for a change. Between her dislike for Trelawney and her disbelief in things that are unexplained, her reaction was bound to happen.

Poor Severus... he's pouting like a little boy!

He tends to feel a bit sorry for himself at times. Especially when he doesn't get his way, or is made fun of.

New friends are always fun. :)

They're good for each other, I think. They each calm the other one down a bit.

Looks like she is helpign Severus deal with his Survivor's Guilt...
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
She is! He needs a bit of help. It's a good thing he has her.

Darn that Lucius... always causing drama.
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
Drama, yes. That's putting it mildly.

Lol... she does have a great sense of humor.
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
I'm glad you like that about her. She would have to, having to live through what she has been through.

Lovely transformation and welcome.

At least they're willing to give her a chance.

Oh, yay! I love how you've introduced Sibyll.
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
Thanks! She's a bit different, isn't she?

Oh, the scene with the ring and vision is brilliant! This is one of my favorite stories in this challenge.

Really? You don't know how much you just made my day! Thank you so much.

I knew she'd see him sooner or later. haha :)
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
Yup, she was a bit too involved in her own emergence to see what was right in front of her face. I think her sight just got impatient with her.

her pastime was to shock Snape. What a courageous woman. But it is definitely tempting to see the white in the eyes of a deatheater. yes, I can see the fun in that. And he was frightened by her, my! and now this game shall become a real romance. let's see her vision come true. Intersting, that her vision appeared when he put the ring on her finger. maybe a duplicat? well well, the good things are so close to you, but you have to step back to see them better.the ring was a very touching gift. And it shows that she does need protection, at least he is aware of that and reminds her of it.good man.
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
Yes, I suppose that really was courageous of her, wasn't it. There are probably very few women who would mess with a Death Eater's mind like that!Severus is incredibly aware that she needs protection. He is a loyal friend that will help her in any way he can.

I see what you meant about Sybill's visions. That was a fun spicy note! To bad she just "saw" it and it didn't happen yet.
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
Yeah, that would have been much better. But it was a nice tease. It won't take too incredibly long for this to become a reality.

Sweet. I can actually see that happening, at least with this version of Sybill.
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
Yes, that's it, really. It's a big eew factor if it's the original Sybill.

I think she made herself clear. and this time I can understand her better than in the last chapter. It is more than just a whim.It is becoming oneself.Or so.And this caring man who is afraid for her. I can't believe it. It is funny. At least he will help putting up the wards. No one will enter who isn't wanted. mhm.I wonder, how often he will sit in this living-room, where sybill saw herself so happy. And I defninitely liked the Hermione - scene. It is absolutely sensible. She is on the reasonable side of life, and mysticism doesn't exist for her. so she argues with reason. But she is shocked that someone like Trelawney should see what goes on deep down in her soul. Some place no one gets access to if not wanted, and she definitely does not want that woman in. But there she is, and all she sais is right. Hope we will hear more about this little story.
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
You're right, it's much more than a whim. It's probably not a really smart decision, but she needs the freedom and independence right now.Hermione was pretty scared by Sybill. As you said, she's not up for mysticism, but everything Sybill says is right and she can't ignore that. We'll probably catch up with her again.

Scary to know ahead of time who you are going to fall in love with, you would second guess everything you said!
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
You're so right! And you would wonder too--just when is all this going to happen? And HOW! She's just got a flash of the future and she knows it's good, but doesn't know any of those answers that keep you up at night.

Chapter started with two things that made me happy, the Room of Requirement was healed and Sybil trashed her booze!
I like his thoughtful housewarming gift, or is that a house-warning gift?Thank you for this update! I enjoyed it very much.
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
House-warning gift. I like that. And, of course, you're on the right track.I too enjoyed her tossing the booze. Not a good thing for her at all. At least she learned her lesson.

poor hermione. but i'm glad sybil and severus made up. great update, thanks
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
Yes. It's sad that her parents didn't understand her doing what she did, but even given that, she's acting like a twit.It was nice of Severus to cave like that. He's got a soft spot for her that he doesn't even realize is there.

Wonder if she wants a flatmate?
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
That's ultimately why she's moving, isn't it? Things will become a bit more clear for her in the next chapter.

Haha, poor Hermione. I expect she'll come around. :)

And about her move, well, I think she's being a bit quick about it, and I thought teachers had to live at Hogwarts during school years anyway? :))
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
I suspect Hermione will have to, as Sybill is right. Sybill is jumping the gun. She's so wrapped up in making her own decisions that she's blinding herself to the danger. Severus has reason to be worried. I'm not sure if it's a written 'law' that teachers have to live there. Obviously all of our dear professors in canon do, which would probably set a precedent. But this story is AU. Snape is alive, Trelawney is a brunette, (and smart.) It's not much of a stretch to have her move off campus, so to speak.

Hmm, well, I'm not sure how I feel about the move until she starts to have visions of someone sharing the home with her...

My gosh, I think you may just be a Seer yourself, as something along these lines will happen in the next chapter.

I just wonder at her seeing herself. Usually seers can't see for themselves.
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
I hadn't been aware of that. I checked HP Lexicon and HP wiki, but couldn't find anything to support that, but I'm certainly not an expert. One thing too, there's a difference between visions and prophecies. What she gets mostly are visions. She's only had those two prophecies. I would imagine that prophecies are more geared toward other people, where a vision can be of anything.I certainly hope so, otherwise it will muck up my next chapter royally. Thanks for your reviews. You've been a busy beaver today.

I don't know what to say other than - keep going as you are. In your story seers can see themselves. Works for me. I can't write stories worth a darn, so I'm so glad when people write and share.

I liked her telling Harry about some of her past visions.

I think it gave him some comfort, and probably helped him to believe her a bit more.

Would Hogwarts be able to survive a transformed Severus?
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
Good question. My answer is: They'll breath a sigh of relief! Don't worry, he won't become a sweetie-pie. Eww.
