Damn. That was amazing - tense, hot, and brutal - a delightfully wicked combination. Well done. I am in awe.

Oh, I'm so glad you noticed how the song led into his arrival - I really wanted to time the line "something wicked this way comes" with his initial appearance. (Wicked in a good way, of course!). I'm giddy that someone picked up on that - well done!!!!Yes, poor Hermione is going to have to learn to resist his taunts, isn't she?! It will be fun for us to watch, anyway...Thanks so much for the review!!!

Very intriguing beginning. I like all the details you're providing in the backstory, especially Hermione's research on the combination of science and magic!
Off to read more!
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
Thank you so much! Hermione always struck me as the kind of character that wouldn't want to limit their education to just one realm, and I can see her seeking out the best of both magical and science knowledge. I'm so pleased you've decided to read my story - thank you very much for your kind review and the lovely, lovely stars!

Bravo Hermione!LOL at Neville and Draco.Snape should have learned long ago that Hermione wouldn't fail at anything she really wanted to do well and observing her class would not permanately rattle her to the point of failure.
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)

Hermione seems on edge, and is ready to take anything Snape says or does the wrong way, and he just can't pass up an opportunity to bait her. But it also feels like that's all it is--teasing, and H hasn't figured it out yet.Oh, so much fun! =)
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
Yes, I think she's at quite a loss as to how to take him!! And Snape does indeed appear to enjoy pushing her buttons, so to speak. Thanks so much for continuing to read, and for leaving a review!!

I'm totally hooked. Your writing is strong and the story compelling. I love how they've all grown up but retained their personalities. You've even redeemed Draco, and that's quite a feat.

Yay - that's exactly what I was hoping to show! She had to prove her talents in Potions... it couldn't just be lip service, I think. Thanks VERY much for the applause and the pretty stars!!!

Captivating over a cauldron? I love that image. It would also make a good wizarding romance novel title. ;)
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
Thanks! I had a very clear image in my head when I wrote that last scene, and I really wanted to request that as one of my art prompts for the SS/HG Exchange, but I wasn't sure if I'd be able to post the chapter in time. It would probably be difficult to draw, anyway, darn it.LOVE the title "Captivating Over a Cauldron"... perhaps something Gilderoy Lockhart could write after he left St Mungo's??Thanks so much for the review and the pretty, shiny stars! LOVE all things shiny....
