"A Murder of Crows" was my first foray into fan-fiction, and I treasure the lessons I've learned while posting it.

Thanks so much - I'm pleased you enjoyed it!
Funny, I had just been wondering about this story so glad to see an update. I can understand Hermione's feelings about Severus' reactions, but I think had Lucius seen his reaction he, himself, may have been concerned for his own safety. One must remember still waters run deep and the deeper the valley the more dangerous it is to reach the bottom. Narcisus might benifit fromLucius taking out a life insurance policy.

Thanks so much for the lovely review and stars!'Still waters run deep' ... That's just an overall fabulous way to describe Severus in any situation, isn't it?! Yes, indeed.

Thank you so much for the lovely review and stars! So glad you liked the conversation and the gradual path of reconciliation. Thanks for not giving up on the story, despite my hiatus!

Thank you so much - I'm so pleased you liked it! And thanks for not giving up on the story, despite my hiatus. :-)
I'm glad they are talking. That Legilimency session did some good, I suppose. Now they are more honest and open with each other. It didn't upset me as much as it has some of your readers. She offered, she was the one who wanted to talk now, and she offered. Granted, he took her up on it immediately, but she did offer it.- and push for a discussion right then.Really this is such a good story. Looking forward to more.

!!I think they both made some horrible choices, but you're right - in the end, some good came out of it. Perhaps everything happens for a reason.I'm so glad you're enjoying it; I posted the next chapter "Hidden In a Sigh" a few days ago and hope to get the following one up soon, as well. Thanks so much for the review and stars!
Severus's Lily comment can be interpreted more than one way. An interesting scene. And yes, a lot of people in love, or in lust, or just being stupid, DO act this badly. Well done! Sadly, it reminds me of some folks I know. I am happy to see there is another chapter yet to read.
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
I think Severus often makes comments that can be interpreted more than one way ... He chooses his words carefully at times.Thank you very much for your praise. I know it can be frustrating to read characters we like doing something we don't like. But you make an excellent point - people make bad choices when their emotions are involved. Thanks again for the nice review!
catching up on this Splendid Tale. I love your choice of the name Arglist. Thank you for explaining that! I'm glad we got some more information about Hermione's old job (and her mentor, too.) he's probably being coerced into working there. I am looking forward to more of this!
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
Honestly, I'd been DYING to explain the name Arglist from the first time it was mentioned. This chapter was quite a relief for me. So glad you enjoyed some more details from her past ... Thanks for the lovely review and stars!
Woo, an update!!!!/cheerI rarely leave comments, but the story has been lovely thusfar. Keep up the great work :D

Thank you so much - I'm pleased you're enjoying it! I appreciate the review!
My favorite sentences in this chapter are the second and the last. The second, I chuckled over because it is soooo true: "Each day seemed endless; morning seeped into afternoon, and evening lingered over its slow death before reluctantly bleeding into night."---dear old "Janu-ugly" and "Febru-weary"!And the last, because it is so beautiful: "She was, quite simply, his."Sighs, indeed!Greedily awaiting more.....

So glad you liked it! I think the dreary days of winter have been getting to me ... It's beginning to feel like evening starts at lunchtime. :-)The next chapter has been written, and I'm in the process of editing it. And it's more than twice as long as this one! Thanks so much for the lovely review and stars!!
right - like quitting this story is an option! this chapter was like a teaser, an appetizer, a tasty little morsel that just whetted my appetite for the next, hopefully much more substantial, course. i hope you will serve it before i expire from starvation! (okay, so i forgot to eat dinner tonight and it's showing.) i particularly loved your imagery in the first couple of paragraphs. :)
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
Funny you should mention food, because there happens to be a lemon or two in the next chapter! :-)Thank you, as always, for the lovely review and stars. This is perhaps the shortest chapter I've posted to this story ... What a dreadful thing to do after such a long absence. Or perhaps it's my way of easing you back into the story ...I'm so pleased you enjoyed the imagery. I admit it got a bit heavy-handed there, but I suppose these dreary winter days have been getting to me! Thanks again, my friend!!
great chapter, i can't wait to read the next one! I hope it comes soon!
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
I hope so, too! I'm working on it right now, and it's a long one - about twice the size of this chapter. Thanks so much for the review!!
I'm so very happy to see this updated! Severus is off doing things behind the scenes again, the man just can't live without subfurtage can he? I have to admit my heart did a little flip flop when he possesively called Hermione his. I, like her, do not often find possesiveness an endearing quality, but I make exception for Severus. :)
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
Severus does possessive well. I know I shouldn't like it, but I simply cannot resist him that way. :-)Thank you so much for the lovely review and stars. I'm in the process of editing the next (much longer) chapter and hope to post it soon!
Ooh, an intriguing little chapter! Hmm, we need some vengeance against that blonde rat-bastard... soon...
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
Glad you found it intriguing! The bastard is toying with them, methinks. No doubt he's the kind who enjoys a subtle battle. Thanks so much for the review!
Oh. Lovely. Lovely, lovely. I was so worried after where we'd left the characters in the previous chapter. I will admit: I was fretful. Thank you for resolving that - or at least, taking them toward resolution.
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
it's a slow and difficult process, undoubtedly. But they've had some time to work on it. I think the last chapter takes place in January, and this one ends in March, so ... time heals all wounds, they say.Thank you very much for the lovely review and stars!
My only problem with this chapter is that it is entirely too short. :) This feels like a chess match - the pieces move but nothing topples. At least not yet. I can't wait to see what happens next. Also, something of mine is full of win. Thank goodness they've gotten back to the kissing place!
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
LOL - It's about half the size of my usual chapters. I'm easing my way back into this story ... :-)Glad you liked possessive!Snape. I find him incredibly appealing, even though I know I shouldn't.Yay for the kissing place. And just in time, too. The next chapter has a certainy lemony smell to it ...
Please update soon! I so miss this story!
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
Thank you so much! I actually just submitted the next chapter to the queue! (I hope you were sitting down when you read that ... I know some folks may fall over from the shock of it.)Thanks again for pinging me ... I appreciate it!
Wow, what a wonderful journey these characters took me on! Thank you for writing this and sharing it here.
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
Please forgive my delay in responding to this review; I don't know how I missed it. Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm delighted you enjoyed the journey (what a nice way to say it, btw!). And thank you for the lovely stars!
Please tell me that you're returning to this soon! I'm DYING for an update of this story!!!
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
Yes! I'm so sorry to leave you hanging. I just bought a new house (well, a used house ... but new to me!). Just closed yesterday, and I've been swept away in title company craziness. So sorry!! I solemnly swear to update soon, though! Thanks so much for pinging me ... it's nice to know you were thinking of it!
Love the way the magie counting rhyme came back at the end. Lovely story Puffbuddy!:)
Sweet ending. :)
Clever. Another Unbreakable Vow explains all the secrecy and machinations behind the scenes. :)
Foolish girl, she should have trusted him. Now, he can't protect her without blowing his cover. :0
Ye Gods, what is he up to now? :)
The fact that he fought loving her so long makes it all the more precious. :)
