"A Murder of Crows" was my first foray into fan-fiction, and I treasure the lessons I've learned while posting it.
Reviews for A Murder of Crows
Whew! Great update! For a bit there I was worried she would fall into the spider's web again.Lucius is such a distasteful character--you portray his many aspects (arrogance, greed, inhumanity, etc.) so well!
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
For a bit there, I think she might have thought twice about it, too! Thanks so much for the compliment on the portrayal of Lucius - he certainly makes an excellent villain.
Oh man, I'm impressed with Hermione for standing up to Lucius, but I'm guessing she's just inspired him to try harder to win 'all' of what he wants.
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
Yes, exactly ... That's very perceptive. I don't imagine Lucius will be happy to have lost this round, and I wonder if she realizes the game has just changed. Thanks so much for reading and leaving a review! The next chapter has been posted ...
RAWR! way to go Mione! You tell that...that...blond haired narcissus what's what!....~looks around and drags lucius into her room for a childish bout of nail painting and hair braiding...then leaves him in a dress in a red light district somewhere~
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
He might actually enjoy that.Thank you for the review and stars! The next chapter has been posted ...
That update drove me crazy, more please. I Lucius is just trying to upset Hermione with the Severus Problem...we shall see
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
In my ongoing efforts to please, I have read your request and provided another update that will drive you crazy. :-)Thanks so much for the review and stars - I appreciate it! The next chapter has been posted ...
Wow! Way to go Hermione!
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
I agree she fared well, but I fear Lucius will not be nearly as impressed with the outcome as we are. Thanks so much for reading and leaving a review!! The next chapter has been posted ...
Very nice chapter. Is Severus actually hiding something? And how will he react to her excursion to AI? I'm really looking forward to the next chapter!gab
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
Thank you so much - I'm delighted you enjoyed it!I think it's in Severus's nature to hide things, whether it be as innocent as his true feelings or something far more dangerous. Only time (and the remaining dozen or so chapters) will show whether his secrets are innocuous or not.Thank you for the review and stars. I appreciate them both!
I can't wait to see how Sev reacts to THIS particular scene. He jumps to all sorts of conclusionS!
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
Indeed he does. And that thought might just enter Hermione's mind when she relates the tale. :-)Thank you so much for reading and leaving a review! The next chapter has been posted ...
yay! for another brillant chapter! and congrats on the award
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
Thank you so much, Sweetie! I truly appreciate it!
Sheesh! WHAT a near-miss!I was almost certain he was going to lock her up in a cellar somewhere until she agreed to do as he asked, and I couldn't believe the folly of this girl thinking she could blithely go swimming with the sharks. Thank goodness she got away.............or did she?I suspect a plot in the wings, one that will involve Severus, and I'm preparing to feel very sorry for him again. Can't wait for your next!
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
A plot in the wings, eh? Whatever gave you that impression? *winks*Ah, you know me too well. I had to torture them with just a bit more conflict. But never fear ... It will all be resolved soon! Thanks so much for the lovely review and stars. I really appreciate it!
And a well deserved win it was. Great chapter, but I suspect Hermione let some pixies out of the cage.On a side note, personally if I suspected him of making a Side-Along Appariton more difficult than need be, I would have decorated his robes with my freshly digested lunch.
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
Ha!!! Oh, you are TOO awesome. Of course, he's such a sick bastard, he might have some hidden barf-kinks. Ick.Thanks so much for the review!!
That chapter was kind of sexy.
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
I'm glad you thought so! I know I'm in the minority, but I personally find an obsessive, demanding Lucius to be quite hot. (Doesn't hurt that Jason Isaac's image/portrayal has firmly supplanted the JKR description in my mind, I suppose!) Heh.Thanks so much for the review and the stars!!
Wow!!!
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
Was it okay? :-)Thanks so much for the review and stars, babe!!
So what is he hinting? I hate to read the final paragraph. I know I'll want more. And I always do. thanks for the wonderful update.
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
And thank you so much for the wonderful review!Hard to tell with Lucius, isn't it? Does he really know something, or is he just trying to bait her? Evil man ...Thank you so much for the feedback and stars. The next chapter has been posted!
Woohoo, I love the way she left his slimy butt hanging! Nice update!
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
So glad you liked it! Thanks very much for the review and stars - I appreciate them!!
Blasting Lucius on his arse. Brilliant as always, my sweet! :)
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
He quite deserved it, didn't he?! Thank you so much, darling - you are too, too kind. :-)
no! no! a thousand times no! what a snake...really. what a superb update. thanks so much
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
So glad you enjoyed the update ... despite the reptilian aspects. :-) Thanks so much for the review!
HOT. OK I am a sucker for scenes like that >:)
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
Heh ... Me too, obviously. So glad you liked it - thanks ever so much for the review and stars!!
Oh my - time for another plummet in the emotional rollercoaster... This is truly superb.
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
Yes, indeed ... That ride has a few more twists and turns, I fear. Thank you for the lovely compliment!! I just uploaded the next chapter...
I'm a pretty critical reader, and I don't see any errors or marks of "amatuer" in this writing. Congrats!I had started reading this a long time ago...I was so glad to find it again. I think you have edited parts that I read...it is a smashing success. You ARE a writer, there's no escaping the fate.
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
Thank you SO much, Karen; you've made my day with your kind words. I'm delighted you enjoyed the story and didn't find the writing overly amateurish. Thank you ever so much for reading and reviewing!
Oh, both have deep feelings for each other, but both are scared. He sure as hell is not someone to pretend to be in love or make a big show of his feelings - but when he cares for someone it is deeply, that much is sure.I would have loved to witness the encounter between Snape and Bertram. I thought something was fishy about him, but never suspected him of "just" wanting to catch Hermione. I thought him to be a stout admirer of the Dark Lord who was gathering information for his sinister plans.
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
Yes, exactly ... This Snape is never going to be overly demonstrative about his feelings, so Hermione had better be very careful about what she thinks she's reading from his actions. Should make things interesting ... :-)Ah, Bertram. What an insufferable cad he turned out to be ... I think I might've found his actions less reprehensible if he at least had some sort of evil take-over-the-world motivations behind them. But he was just your garden-variety jerk. Thanks so much for the review and the stars!!
Holy Crap! This can't be good. Actually this is really really scary bad. She's alone with Lucius! Argh! I hope Severus finds her or something. I'm soooooo scared now. Other than the ending this was a really great chappie. I loved her seeing Ron again. And how they just started to bicker like they used to when they were kids. And when I think about DH, I get so annoyed that she had them get married. WTF? Anyways, I know all of us SS/HG lovers feel the same way. Moving on. Thanks for the update! Much Love ~Brena
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
LOL - even my husband feels that way about the epilogue, and he certainly isn't prone to any kind of "shipping." He just read the books for the fun of it, but he was scratching his head over that final pairing, just like the rest of us. WTF, indeed!!!Thanks so much for the review and stars, my love! I just uploaded the next chapter, and I hope it allays your fears!
this cannot end well. it's so lucius to dote upon the boy (whose not even born yet!) and forget the girls. great update. thanks so much
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
I'm glad you agreed on that ... I felt that particular aspect (doting on the unborn child simply because it's a male heir) was very in-character for this particular Lucius. Thanks so much for the review - I just uploaded the next chapter.
Oh, whatever it is he might want from Hermone, he now has put it out of his reach for the time being. What triggered this? Hurt pride?Well, Hermione will be very careful to not let him get close to her for some time, I guess.
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
I think hurt pride was a big part of it, yes. Perhaps some anger over his reactions to her, as well—I can't imagine he's very happy to acknowledge the fact that he desires her. And maybe when you've been rejected, you learn to shoot first, strike the initial blow. Either way, I think he hurt himself just as much (if not more) by behaving in such a manner. Thanks so much for the review and stars, as always!! I truly appreciate it!
First...Schitz and Droolz...ROTFLMAO!
Next,Ireally,reallyhateLucius!
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
I'm with ya!! Thanks so much for the review - so glad you enjoyed the Schitz & Drewls baby store name. :-) I just uploaded the next chapter!
