"A Murder of Crows" was my first foray into fan-fiction, and I treasure the lessons I've learned while posting it.
Reviews for A Murder of Crows
Great response from Hermione, taking the high road! She got him back good! I loved it!
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
I'm so glad you think so! Personally, I believe taking the high road often requires more courage than fighting fire with fire. I was very proud of the way she responded to him. Thanks so much for reading, and thanks for leaving a review!!

DAMN I wish I would have had that much style and grace a few years ago.....

And that's the lovely part of fiction... we can write the responses we wish we could've come up with in life. Thanks so much for reading, and thanks for leaving a review (with pretty stars - ooh, shiny!!).

Great job! You really made me feel their pain. I hope that Severus learns from this.
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
Thank you so much!! I believe they are both going to proceed with caution for awhile, but perhaps that's for the best. Severus has a lot to learn... hopefully Hermione will have the patience to teach him...Thanks very much for the nice review!!

Good for Draco standing up to Snape. He does have a lot of boundary issues!Hermione was quite gracious. Don't think I would have been. I wouldn't have apologized until he had admitted he treated her badly and all but accused her of adultry with a married man-the prick!Livvy

Ah, but if you'd only seen how utterly gorgeous he looked in that dark alcove... *sigh* :-)Never fear, Livvy-dear... he will most assuredly suffer for his crimes...Thanks so much for reading and giving this chapter such a lovely rating!!

Oh, my, will they figure it out. So, the drama. I love it.

Funny how they're both so brilliant and yet completely at a loss in such matters, isn't it?! Thanks so much for the review!!

Yes, indeed... isn't that the best part of fiction?! We can write the response we wish we had the maturity (or foresight) to have enacted in life. Thanks so much for the lovely review - I'm so pleased you're enjoying the story! Next chapter should post this week...

Ouch, poor Hermione! She did ask for it though, playing with fire like that in the class room.I love this story! I never know what's going to happen next! I can't wait for the next chapter!

You have totally drawn me in. Good setup the mystery that is about to unfold. Why is a girl of 11 touring the magical universities? Isn't that a bit early? Funny. I bet this has significance later on in the story :-)And Snape wants to come back to Hogwarts? I'm wondering how this will work out.
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
I'm delighted you decided to read this story! Little Emilia does seem a bit overeager, doesn't she? How odd. :-)Thanks so much for the feedback and stars!
What a start to a story! You have, very cleverly, managed to draw me in. An intriguing backstory (I'm sure Hermione's past will come to haunt her), a wonderful setting in which we met many well loved characters and a bomb at the end of the chapter. Excellent.
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
Thank you so much! I cringe to read the first several chapters now ... Perhaps some day I'll go back and repair some of the clunkier bits. I'm delighted they didn't stop you, though! Thanks ever so much for the review and feedback - I really appreciate it!
Now, this deserves a review before I read on. (make take a few days)So far, the story is absolutly bloody briliant...The way you handle the characters, the way you have let them evolve the way you want but keeping them (or making them) absolutly IN character. (hell, even your Draco seems real and possible, not to mention Severus and Hermione and all others) It is a hell of a story, original, perfectly composed and written. the suspense and eeire feeling of dread hovering just "behind closed lids" while hearts and minds battle to understand each other.Such good stories always make me want to try my hand at fanfiction as well (I just hope I will like it at its end as well :) being a sucker for happy endings and such :) )
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
Wow - thank you SO MUCH for this lovely review!! I'm glad you're enjoying the story and especially the characters (and you even find Draco possible - woo hoo!!).You should absolutely try your hand at fan-fiction! This is the first story I'd ever attempted to write, and reading "Denial" by little_beloved is precisely what prompted me to put pen to paper (fingers to keyboard?) for the first time. I like to think I've learned a lot in the process ... I actually cringe now to read the first several chapters and plan on going back some day to fix the clunky bits. I was very fortunate to find two excellent betas who were very patient with my early (repeated) mistakes. It's been a very enriching experience!Oh, and I'm loath to give away the ending, but I will assure you it ends happily. Mostly. I'm a sucker for happily ever after, and I realize that long, chaptered stories are quite an investment of the reader's time. I wouldn't want you to think I was putting you through all this drama and angst without an eventual payoff! Thanks very much for your lovely review and the shiny stars. I truly appreciate it!!
Hell Yeah! I loved LOVED the storeroom scene! That was Amazingly HOT! You totally rock my sox. What a great chapter, but I have to say I'm a little concerned about how things ended for now. I mean she's all questioning him in her head, that can't be good. Argh. And I felt so bad for her when she realized that she was in love with him. I guess she thinks its too soon and that he really will never feel that way for her so she shouldn't get too invested in things... Its so sad to be having a relationship like that with someone and feeling that you can't have the whole package. Love & Fantastic Lovin'. How sad. I seriously hope they get through everything. Can't Wait for More! Much Love ~ Brena

LOL - so glad you liked the naughty schoolgirl role-play! It could have easily ventured into PWP territory, so I'm delighted you also focused on the nuances of her realizations the morning after. I agree with you - it's very sad when someone ignores what their heart is telling them, when they're afraid to give too much for fear of receiving nothing in return. And it doesn't help when suspicious articles appear at the most inopportune times. :-)Thanks so much for the review and stars, babe! (PS - I started a reply to your email but my server went wiggy and I lost it. I still plan on replying, though!!)

<-------- Gives big sigh of relief. I thought I over-shared in the email and you might have thought I was some crazy internet stalker type of chick or something. Sometimes I'm afraid my over excited/friendliness might come across as crazy stalker chick or something. Anyways I look foreward to chatting with you more. ~Me
It's nice to see an emotional connection along with the physical. I just hope that the doubts Hermione is experiencing from finding that paper is unfounded.
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
The article was disconcerting, and its timing couldn't have been worse. But given her previous reactions to Lucius's letters and invitations, I can understand his reluctance to share it. Let's hope that's all it was ... :-0Thanks so much for the review and feedback!!
yikes! i hope those "scientists" are nowhere near as bright as our hermione. delightful update and quite lemony. thanks so much
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
Thanks very much! It's a very disconcerting development, in my opinion. We'll see more of what Hermione thinks soon. Thanks so much for the review!
Super chapter! Great story developments (and the storeroom sceme was really hot, too!).
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
Thanks very much! I tried for senseless smut, but that pesky plot kept insisting on having its say, too. Thanks for the review and stars! Next chapter is up ...
Oh no!!! I'm all happy from the lemons and then you have to go and add the bit with the book!!! Cruelty! (A trait I very much admire! LOL)
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
LOL - thank you, I think. Honestly, I tried to make it pure smut, but that darned plot keeps insisting on creeping into the chapters. :-) So glad you liked the lemons ... Next chapter is up!
Lemons Lemons Lemons! Gosh.. thats was steamy! What is Severus up to? Maybe, helping Hermione in her revenge?Look forward to more.

So glad you enjoyed that! I always prefer my mystery with a bit of citrus. :-) Thanks so much for the review!!
Just so you know, I am fully in love with this story. Entranced. I can't wait for chapters. Lovely work with this one-- the way you are combining their growing relationship with the intrigue of Lucius and Arglist is brilliant. The perfect blend of romance and mystery. (well, and lemons. Yes, mustn't foget those!)
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
I'm delighted you're enjoying this story! Entranced, huh? What a lovely thing to say!! I always look forward to reading your reviews and once again, you've made my day. Thank you ever so much for your feedback - I appreciate it! Next chapter is up ...
notedly she refrains from further pondering her love for him which I can guess his love for her is why he has not spoken to her of his activities and the article. He is doing what Snape does best he is protecting those he loves.
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
For Hermione's sake, I certainly hope you're right. :-)Thanks so much for the review and feedback - I appreciate it!! Next chapter has been posted ...
Oh wow, one of my favourite favourite stories continued... thanks!

And thank you for considering it a favourite!! I'm delighted you're enjoying it! Next chapter has been posted ...
Glad to see that Hermione is relinquishing "her fears and doubts." She's definitely of an age to know better than to assume things before asking. Can't say the same for Severus. He's still the secretive spy.
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
Funny how love can make someone do foolish things ... things they should know better than to do. You're right - she shouldn't assume anything without asking first. But I suppose one drawback of being with a secretive spy is never knowing how much to trust the answers to your questions. Hmm. Interesting points ... Thanks very much for a thought-provoking review.
Thank you very much for posting so soon! Yay for storeroom sex!
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
I'm delighted you liked it! Next chapter is up, as well ...
Ooh, such fun games! And Lucius has more scientists- oh no! Save them, Severus, stop them!
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
LOL - SuperSnape to the rescue?! Thanks so much for the review, HJS. The next chapter has been posted ...
I, too, wonder how long Severus has had that article. But I imagined that he would not want to cause her to worry if there was nothing she could do about it but make herself sick with worrying.Their little rendezvous in the Potions storeroom was a delicious moment. He is such a tease, but when all is said and done, Hermione can hold her own in the passion department. Why, she can even get the Professor to leave detention long enough to have a shag in the storeroom! Well done, Hermione! The news that Lucius had hired a first class research team at Arglist is disturbing. I wonder if Severus knows any of "the team of wizard-scientists?" Could he have placed a spy in Lucius' camp? Oh! My mind can come up with a thousand and one reasons that Severus would not have told Hermione about this bit of news, but the bottom line is that I believe he knows a lot more than he is saying right now.Fabulous chapter. It has a bit of everything!Beth
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
Thank you so much for the lovely review, Beth. I'm glad you found the bit about Lucius's new team of wizard-scientists to be disturbing. I also thought it was quite disconcerting, though it might have been lost amidst the other fears and doubts. It doesn't bode well.I'm delighted you liked the other parts, as well. Thanks again for your feedback ... The next chapter has been posted.
