This was not what Severus expected when he confronted Hermione Weasley about payment of his life debt.
This is my response for the Dictionary Drabbles Fun Challenge for March 22.

I love to write. A dreamer, a creator and filled with wonder, imagination and life. Sometimes I get lost in the other worlds I've read and in some I create. It's all good, I’m in good company.
“Imagination does not become great until human beings, given the courage and the strength, use it to create.”― Maria Montessori
“Our imagination flies -- we are its shadow on the earth.”― Vladimir Nabokov
“Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions.”― Albert Einstein
“Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were, but without it we go nowhere.” ― Carl Sagan

Severus must be feeling quite serious about Hermione to bring her top his home. Nice chapter, fun ride so far.

Thoroughly enjoying this! Had forgotten that you added snipits in the reviews, needed to go back a few chapters to catch them all. Especially liked the second one from this chapter and the one where she woke up next to him.

Thank you sunny! Oh, btw - here is the second Bonus! Hope you like it. Oh, and I hope you backtrack to read the first one. TeeheheheSeverus listened to her response and felt an odd flutter in his chest and a stirring in his groin. There was no doubt, he was falling for his young apprentice, and it frightened him a little. He wasn’t an easy man to be around, and he’d pushed people, especially women, away for nearly twenty-three years. Ever since Lily. His fingers toyed with a strand of her hair as he contemplated the witch snuggled up at his side. He admired the ploy of her ruse. She had no intention of pursuing a career in Potions. Her enthusiasm the last time they’d gone out for dinner at the Leaky Cauldron, outlining her ideas for equal rights laws for werewolves literally made her face glow and her eyes sparkle. Hermione had a fire in her to right the wrongs in their world. He knew that once she passed her N.E.W.T.s, she would be very much in demand in any field she chose, but knowing her, she’d join the Ministry. Or at least he thought she should. He was still bewildered that a relationship with him had been the sole purpose she’d had in tricking him into taking her on as his apprentice. The not so subtle manipulation she’d employed in her pursuit was rather cunning for a Gryffindor, if not too obvious to the wary Slytherin. He hadn’t been wary enough. In a way, he was flattered, once he’d gotten over his annoyance at being duped. Outwitted by a Gryffindor, he thought as he took another sip of his wine. He looked down at her, mentally tracing the lines of her face as she stared out at his property. Oh, yes, I could get used to this. “Are you ready for dessert?” he asked smoothly, letting his voice drawl out silkily. She squirmed from the effect he knew his voice had on her. “No, I’m still stuffed from dinner.” “I wasn’t thinking about food, Hermione,” he said silkily, pleased when she squirmed again. “Unless we take the chocolate to bed with us.” Her eyes widened, and then she smiled, nodding before she leaned up to kiss him. Oh, yes, she was his. Somehow, he’d won this witch.

Hm... introducing her to the family already?
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Repaying The Life Debt)
Well, if can call portraits family...Oh, btw - here is the first bonus! enjoy!Hermione sat on the bench in the garden with Severus, watching the sun set across the river. The dark water, botanical plants swaying in the soft breeze, and the smell of the summer blooms were relaxing and serene. She moved closer to him, and he put his arm around her shoulders as he sipped on his wine. It felt perfect to her. There was nowhere else on earth she would rather spend every night of her life than where she was at that very moment. She laid her head on his shoulder, and he began to run his hand on her hair, giving her a light, warm headiness. She closed her eyes and inhaled deeply. “Are you cold?” he asked. “No, just really happy,” she replied, turning to kiss his cheek. His lips met hers in a soft kiss. “Are you staying?” he asked softly. “As long as you’ll let me,” she answered him, smiling when his eyebrow arched slightly.

Yes, he would like silk, wouldn't he! tehee! And who may be the misterious, troglodyte, antediluvian costumer? I'm as curious as Hermione, here.

What red blooded wizard or man wouldn't?To answer your other question - just a customer. And escentric customer, but that's it.

Now, he likes the silky one. Fickle man!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Repaying The Life Debt)
Well, it's not that he didn't like it before - it was just that it was too distracting seeing Hermione in a silky night slip and robe, lying on his rug in the sitting room or curled up in a chair or on his soft - or even just knowing she was sleeping it in just across the hall! Give a red blooded wizard a break. He liked it.

I can't wait to find out what happens when Severus takes her with him to deliver the potion to the troglodyte.I love Severus's asked her, “So, which sleeping attire are you going to subject me to tonight?”“Whichever one you want me to,” she replied with a sly grin. His eyebrow rose and he smiled. “I like the silky one.” Add the bonus, and you have given this reader a most satisfying chapter. *sigh*Beth

Lucius is having to come to terms with a different world, and I think he's having "adjustment" problems.I'm so happy that Severus has harbored no such illusions about Muggle-born withces and wizards. His Hermione is as noble as they come!!!I've been hooked on this series since I read the first chapter. Beth

Finally progress. This was a sweet chapter, and I just melted when I read this part: “Hermione, why me?” he asked softly, walking across the room toward her.She watched him approach, staring at his face. “To get to know the man that I think you are. To spend time with you – to be around you… I’m sorry. Maybe I shouldn’t have…”Severus had moved swiftly and was standing right in front of her. He raised his hand as if to cup her cheek, but paused before making contact. Hermione tilted her head before he could retract it, resting her cheek against his palm with her eyes closed, and the acerbic mask he’d always worn, faded from his features. “You may continue as my apprentice, if you so choose.”*swoons*Beth

I love the way you've written Severus's agonizing over his kissing Hermione. First he gives himself a reason that this situation cannot happen, and then he gives a reason why his first reason doesn't matter. Marvelous!!! And so much fun to read.I love it!Beth

Severus needs to just take the plunge and go with his feelings! Poor man, he doesn't know what's good for him.Beth
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Repaying The Life Debt)
Since when is Severus a 'take the plunge' kind of man? I'd love for him to do just that. I see him as a think it out throughtly and weigh the options and benefits - kind of guy. Give him a few weeks - I'll get him there! Thank you for the fun review, Beth.
