This was not what Severus expected when he confronted Hermione Weasley about payment of his life debt.

I love to write. A dreamer, a creator and filled with wonder, imagination and life. Sometimes I get lost in the other worlds I've read and in some I create. It's all good, I’m in good company.
“Imagination does not become great until human beings, given the courage and the strength, use it to create.”― Maria Montessori
“Our imagination flies -- we are its shadow on the earth.”― Vladimir Nabokov
“Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions.”― Albert Einstein
“Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were, but without it we go nowhere.” ― Carl Sagan
Reviews for Repaying The Life Debt
Ooo! I think I might be the first reviewer this time! Do I get a giftie? Love these drabbles! For how short they are, and considering they have to be short to be drabbles, they express so much. Like Hermione's shock at his statement, and especially that he said it first.

Oh yes, you are! and Yes you do! But you have to share ... TeeheheheI'm so flattered that you like these, and I really appreciate your compliment. Thank you. Here you go:~*~ Hermione could hardly concentrate all day Saturday and Sunday, seriously looking forward to Monday. Even her professors noticed. Professor McGonagall even smiled at her when she’d admonished Hermione for her inattention. After lessons on Saturday, Hermione had hurriedly written her essays, completing the required length of parchments without her usually scrupulous handwriting and supplemental supportive paraphrasing from every possible book supporting her statements. It was the first time she’d ever written her essays simply based upon her own thoughts and suppositions, supported by examples, but not actually quoting the books. She hurried to the owlery at nearly eleven at night to send her letters: one to Ginny, the other to Luna. Her note had only said that she had great news to tell them and she’d see them Sunday night. As soon as she’d completed her required work on Sunday, Hermione had run up to her dorm room, grabbed her overnight bag and ran from the castle. No sooner than she’d passed the gates, than she’d Disapparated, arriving at the Burrow and gasping for breath. Ginny and Luna came running form the house even before she reached the door. “What happened?” Ginny asked excitedly. “We got your notes, but you were so vague! You could have told us something!” Even Luna was staring at her expectantly. Hermione laughed. “He told me that he loves me!” All three girls shrieked in delight, and Ginny and Luna both hugged Hermione.

I see Ron is being his obnoxious self. What a jerk.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Repaying The Life Debt)
Oh yes, but I'm not a Ron fan anyway.

Severus must be giving in to his feelings for Hermione. After all, he took her home to meet his family. Woo hoo!Nice bonus in the reviews, too. I love this story of yours. Sometimes it just makes me melt.Beth
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Repaying The Life Debt)
Yep, he is giving in... although can a wall of protraits really count as 'meeting the family'? Teehehe Thank you for the sweet compliment.
Response from braye27 (Reviewer)
Well... maybe not a family... but at least she got to see his antecedents.

I love how Severus orders for Hermione and she doesn't even think twice about it.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Repaying The Life Debt)
Actually, I know some older gentlemen who order for their dates/wives. Besides, Hermione had slipped away to the ladies room - she probably told Severus what she wanted in case Tom came to take their order. I've done that before.

Hm, Lucius is not a happy person, now is he?
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Repaying The Life Debt)
well, he's not happy with the chnges in his life I suspect, nor the changes in the wizarding world. There's more - I just snuck it in the reveiw before yours...

Another wonderful installment. Let's see that bonus!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Repaying The Life Debt)
Thank you very much. Here it is:~ * ~ Severus swirled the deep red liquor in his glass as he listened to Lucius talk about his community service he was required to perform as his retribution to wizarding society. “So about Miss Granger…” Severus carefully controlled his expression when Lucius changed the subject, amused that he’d finally brought up Hermione. “What about her?” “You’ve been seen publicly with her quite a bit as of late. Surely you are not socializing with this girl on a romantic level?” Lucius inquired, suppressing his sneer with a sip of his drink. Severus looked him straight in the eye. “And if I am?” Lucius met his gaze, unflinching. “At least she is well acknowledged as a war hero and as an exceptional witch,” he stated magnanimously. “I suppose you could do worse.” “You still can’t see past her birth, can you?” Severus asked pointedly. “I am finding that birth has very little weight anymore,” Lucius replied, unable to hide his scorn. “More is the pity.” Severus hid his smirk by smiling. “You know as well as I do that strength, talent and intelligence is not a direct collation of birth – look at Crabbe, Goyle, even Pettigrew. All worthless and complete nitwits. We had to deal with a fair few dunderheads in the Dark Lord’s circles.” “I know that blood has never held such a high priority in your mind,” Lucius said as he topped off their glasses. “No, it hasn’t,” Severus admitted. “Possibly. Because, unlike some, I have accepted my heritage and embraced my world. You do know that the Dark Lord himself was a half-blood. His father was a Muggle, or so he told Pettigrew and Potter in the graveyard the night he returned to power. I remember Pettigrew gossiping about it a number of times.” “I remember,” Lucius stated, taking a hefty drink from his glass. “So you like her?” “I do. This apprenticeship was a ruse – of her own design. However, I admit, I rather like having her around.” Severus took a drink before adding, “Is this going to be a problem?” “No, I suppose not. An adjustment,” Lucius stated, meeting his gaze once more. “Just as society has – so must we.” “Good.”

I'll be back later to see if you have added any extras in the reviews! Thanks for another chapter. Nice to see him finally admit his interest, even better to see him open up to Hermione. Good chapter!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Repaying The Life Debt)
Thank you for the reveiw. I'll be sticking in the bonus with the next chapter (which was going to be the second half of this one but the admins told me it wouldn't be a drabble - so I divided it.) Thank you for the compliment.

Palaver is a word that always makes me giggle. I seem to remember a movie or SNL skit with that word in it.

It was one of the words so I did my best with it. I'm glad you got a chuckle. Thank you for the reveiw.

Funny that a night spent apart was spent thinking of the other the whole time. I just read the bonus in the reviews. What a truly romatic way to end the evening.

Yay! And another lovely chapter. I'm really having fun seeing how creative you can be with this as well! Cockaigne?? Really, how cool is it that I now know what 'Cockaigne' means as a result of your great story?
