I'm a 26-year-old Accounts Payable manager for a construction company. Basically, I'm paid to write checks and intimidate the menfolk around here. I live with my boyfriend and our dog. I wasn't sucked into the HP fandom until just after the release of HBP. So, I'm a newbie compared to most of the fans out there. I've written in several other fandoms (under different pennames) - Anita Blake, Buffy, X-Files, etc.

Thank you! I was experimenting with Snape in this fic. I wanted to have fun with him and for him to have fun. I always write him as Mr. Dark and Brooding, and I felt like this story called for a different Snape with a sense of humor and a normal, male libido.

Ooh, great start! It certainly has me intrigued ... The most fun part about fics bearing the promise of smut (and may it be bountiful) is seeing how individual authors manage to toss those two together. ;o) I really felt for Hermione, and I think you used Severus' compassion for her to excellent effect in order to instill that same sense to the readers. I liked the way you planted the seed of interest, too ... The picture of Severus getting turned on by the romance novel, and especially by the stolen intimacies as opposed to the erotica, was a very nice touch.
This needs to be said, I think - omg update soon plzthx :D

Yes, I promise that it is complete. There are eigh chapters in total. The first four chapters are happy and ready to go. The last four are away at the first beta and will be sent to the second beta soon. I promise *at least* one chapter a week.
Yowza. Nice start, Anogete! I like how Severus views Hermione; his focus on her pain and what she's lost takes his mind off himself. Her discomfort when he asked what she was reading was very cute.

Glad to hear you're enjoying it so far! The way I wrote dear Severus in this story was an experiment for me. I always make him into Mr. Angsty, but this time I was determined to twist him into a red-blooded man who doesn't brood every second of his life. Whether I accomplished that or not is still up in the air. :-)
