This is a full-length Book Seven fic. Cliffhangers and unexpected twists abound, but don't look for beloved characters to die tragically before your very eyes--Fawkes_07 is all about redemption. Written for young readers but hopefully fun for all.
I'm printing out a version for my kids in book format--I even found all the right fonts and everything. Hence the "artwork" in the chapter headings. What can I say, I'm more of a ceramics person than a drawing person.
Can I note with pride that "Heirs of Slytherin" was just chosen as a Featured Story on MNFF? *glows*

Someone who really, REALLY ought to be doing something else, but just keeps on writing.
Wondering why my stories take forever? Have a look at My Other Time Devourer: www.willametteartcenter.com I'm both the webmaster and the president of the Friends of the Visual Arts, a 501-C3 nonprofit in Salem, Oregon. We Put The Fun Back In Art.
Having 2 sweet little boys tends to drag things out too.
And what the heck, as long as it's self-pimpage time: If you just can't wait for the next chapter of Fair Ex, you can always go buy my book. It's not HP or fanfic but it's got that Fawkesy snark (in spades) It's here: www.turondo.com Warning: there's a bad word in the title.

Oh that was creepy! Now what do we do we Moldy Voldy's body? Eek!
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Harry Potter and the Heirs of Slytherin)
As little as possible, I should think...
Dumber than bugs? LOL funny and interesting chapter.
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Harry Potter and the Heirs of Slytherin)
A lot of people didn't like this one, but I loved those Fireflies so much I just had to give them a good chapter.
I liked your view of the killing curse and I liked Harry's reaction to it.
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Harry Potter and the Heirs of Slytherin)
Me too. Harry's a decent guy at heart.
Who stole the mirror? Okay, don't answer that. I am really enjoying this story but it's 2:30 am here so I'm stopping for the night. I'm really enjoying this (I know I say that every chapter but it's still true).
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Harry Potter and the Heirs of Slytherin)
You'll see, grasshopper... Glad you're enjoying it! Authors love to hear that over and over.
Well, at least his teacher liked flying, although it was funny. I am really enjoying all the little side stories popping up. They are giving this story a full, rich flavor.
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Harry Potter and the Heirs of Slytherin)
Thanks! That's what I was shooting for.
A very well thought out argument challanging canon. This chapter is very believable and a good read too.
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Harry Potter and the Heirs of Slytherin)
Thanks! Yeah, the whole Missing 24 Hours thing really bugs me--and I was very disappointed that DH did nothing to address it.
I love your original character Elias, I suspect he will be quite a teacher to Harry. Maybe even some wandless magic?
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Harry Potter and the Heirs of Slytherin)
Elias is a sweetie--I wish I could do more with him, but alas, he's a minor character.
Boy, Harry's teacher is viscious, but I think she needs to be. Harry is just a tad bit to thickheaded to learn from books so to speak. He is more of a 'hands on' learner.
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Harry Potter and the Heirs of Slytherin)
Exactly. And she's too impatient for any "getting toknow you" phase.
Chain saw! I love it! (A petrol driven lawn mower would have been cooler though!;D ) This was one rivetting chapter, I almost forgot the bombshell you dropped on us in the last chapter, I got so caught up in this one! Almost, not quite. I need to know what's happening to Harry! I also want to see how the tides of battle go. Update please, and soon!!!!!!!
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Harry Potter and the Heirs of Slytherin)
*sporfle* Yeah, the thought of Tonksy wielding a chainsaw was just too hilarious. It's hard for me to imagine how one might attack a wolf with a lawn mower. And yes, Harry's still in quite a pickle...well, I'm writing as fast as I can.
Response from helshez (Reviewer)
For lessons in the ancient art of lawn mower combat, see Braindead, by Peter Jackson. The film uses zombies, but frankly anything would go down!
I was so happy to see this update. Go you! Lovely action, I couldn't tear my eyes away. Your Dobby is great--well all your characters are really. I particularly like how you keep the complexity and dignity about them. Your Battle of Hogwards is promising a lot more than a bunch of cartoons. :-) Can't wait for more. Great work!
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Harry Potter and the Heirs of Slytherin)
Cool! I'm glad it feels that way. I'd rather have the chapter be about the characters, than about a blow-by-blow description of the battle. Particularly once Tonksy picks up that chain saw...I mean, bleah! But I wasn't sure if it would work.
Response from RedOrchid (Reviewer)
I loved Tonks with the chain saw. Such a great contrast to the world of magic and very funny associations in my head (made me think of all the old horror classics, which made me laugh. I was just waiting for her to bring down a hockey mask over her face--and then it occurred to me that that's probably what the DE's look like in their masks and cloaks. The hunting become the hunted. LOL. Really great stuff.)
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Harry Potter and the Heirs of Slytherin)
EXACTLY. Except it's her vs. werewolves, but same idea. Tonks is just so off-the-wall, she can pull it off.
Scary chapter and very busy if you know what I mean. I'm really enjoying this story and I hope you will be able to update again soon.
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Harry Potter and the Heirs of Slytherin)
Man, I hope so too. But you've got a long ways to go before you'll be caught up to the chapters available.
And so the war begins. I should be in bed, but I can't stop reading. LOL
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Harry Potter and the Heirs of Slytherin)
Might as well take a break though--there's a lot ahead.
That was a great half a chapter.
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Harry Potter and the Heirs of Slytherin)
Thanks! Hopefully more like 2/3 of a chapter...
It is quite interesting seeing Severus and Draco after all this time, I'm wondering all over again if Snape is truely "Dumbledore's man".
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Harry Potter and the Heirs of Slytherin)
That's the big question, isn't it?
I am really enjoying this story..........On to the next chapter.............
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Harry Potter and the Heirs of Slytherin)
Thanks! I'm glad you're reviewing after each chapter--it's nice to get lots of feedback.
Ohhh I loved the information about the wand.
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Harry Potter and the Heirs of Slytherin)
Thanks! That was one of my favorite chapters to write.
Very interesting, I wonder what the book is and if it will be a help to the trio.
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Harry Potter and the Heirs of Slytherin)
More will be revealed in the next chapter...for those who can interpret it...
Excellant! I loved Lupin's parting words to the minister.
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Harry Potter and the Heirs of Slytherin)
Me too. It's about time he stood up for himself.
Hermione did a great job in keeping Harry under control through guilt.
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Harry Potter and the Heirs of Slytherin)
Aw, I prefer to think of it as appealing to his responsible side.
Response from sinbad (Reviewer)
I'm an old fashioned Italian girl my gran was great at guilt and my father's mom was Jewish so I have had guilt trip masters all my life lol!
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Harry Potter and the Heirs of Slytherin)
EEEEK! *runs and hides* No doubt!
Ah, now we have a name for what is happening with Harry. Very good chapter.
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Harry Potter and the Heirs of Slytherin)
Thanks!
I loved the fire show! Very exciting!
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Harry Potter and the Heirs of Slytherin)
:) Thanks!
Great first chapter, I wasn't much happy with Deathly Hallows so I'm looking forward to this story.
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Harry Potter and the Heirs of Slytherin)
I wasn't either. Welcome aboard!
Hi,Saw in the other reviews that ch 43 is proving troublesome. If you need any help/input, just e-mail. I'd be honoured to help with this story./Red
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Harry Potter and the Heirs of Slytherin)
Aw, thanks, Red. It's not so much the chapter, it's time. I've been writing grants and caught up with some major volunteer projects (I just got up the new website for the art center and it took forever, but it looks great: www.willametteartcenter.com) and I just haven't had 10 minutes to sit quietly and write! Hopefully soon.
Oh excellent story, cannot wait to read more of this fic.
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Harry Potter and the Heirs of Slytherin)
Thanks. If I can just get to Ch. 43, the rest is done...
Whoa! WTF just happened there!??!! Question running through my brain, too many to articulate! Update soon please!!!!!!! Oh my god.... that totally blindsided me. Well done!
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Harry Potter and the Heirs of Slytherin)
WOOT! Goody goody, that's just what I wanted to happen. But sadly, I can't promise a timely update--43 is being started from scratch. But 44-49 are done...
