Reviews for An Act of Love
I had thought to mention in the previous review (but TPP had a spasm and ate part of it) that your portrayal of Minerva and Albus' tender passion was very stirring and authentic.I'm enthralled by the way you are building Severus and Minerva's comfort with each other.
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
Thank you! I'm glad you like the Albus and Minerva element.Minerva, not being directly affected by the spell, is trying very hard to remember that Severus will not forget all of this when it's over, and she wants him to be as comfortable as possible with it. Thanks for the review!

I don't think I ever thought I'd be reading Albus/Minerva lemons, but I think you've handled them very well and very believably. But uh oh, did she disrupt Albus' Imperturbable Charm when she went into the bathroom? I hope Severus didn't hear all that!
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
She sure did! I'm glad you appreciated the lemons I try to give the characters some depth and context and make the lemons tasteful. There will be a contrast between what Albus and Minerva share and what happens between Minerva and Severus -- which, while loving, is of a different nature. I hope you continue to read and enjoy the story! Let me know! Thanks for reviewing!
My God! It's a good thing you divided this chapter in half. Otherwise I think my heart may burst and I'm sure my computer screen would need a bit of cooling down. I don't think I have EVER read a more passioante and loving lemon for Albus and Minerva than the ones written here in this chapter. The sheer power, energy, and emotion described in this chapter is beyong believable. The way that Albus, at Minerva's insistence, reclaims what is his was very touching and endearing. I love how he was hesitant but only for a split second once he realized that hearing those words was exactly what Minerva needed to start her on the path to being a whole person again. And once he said it a few times, it took on a whole new meaning for him as well. He was giving her the power to heal herself while coming to the understanding that she was truly his and always had been, despite the turmoil of the previous days with Snape.Albus' gift to Minerva of the polyjuice potion and his restored hand brought a tear to my eyes. He has to be the most thoughtful and loving gesture but I think it served a dual purpose. Not only did it bring Minerva immense pleasure, but it also took care of some of his demons about not being able to take care of her needs properly. It was simply beautiful to read.I am most definitely looking forward to the continuation of Albus and Minerva's time together. Surely with as much passion as they've just shared, there's more in store for the next day. And I for one can't wait to see what it is!!!! Hurry and SEND US MORE ADMM!!!
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
Well, I guess you liked it! Thanks! I hope that the next chapter lives up to your hopes. (And I'm glad your heart didn't burst!)
I can't say how much it means to me for you to say that you found these scenes so powerful and passionate. Thank you! I felt that after what they'd been through, they would need something more than a cuddle and a kiss to restore them, and they needed to have the love-making be a reaffirmation and restoration of their relationship. Thank you very much for your review!
I like the idea that Severus may have more than one abiding love in his lifetime, especially if they manage to come up with one soon.
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
Yes, there are other spells for the greatest love, and it's fortunate that Pansy didn't know that one! Although if someone doesn't have a single greatest love (at that point in their life), it would be ineffective. The feeling does have to be there, though. It isn't manufactured by the spell and isn't prospecitve -- the spell isn't prophetic, and it can't say, hey, you may in the future develop a true love for this person and so here you go! LOL!

This is fascinating. I've had it on my to-read list for a while, and I forgot even what the summary is, so I'm reading it without bias or the forknowledfe of the summary. I like it so far. It's all so authentic. I hope I have time to read it all this weekend.
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
Thank you! I hope you enjoy it. It starts off light and gets less light as the story progresses, but there are moments of levity throughout. I wanted to do something that would be unexpected to the characters (and to the readers, I suppose) and that would create some interesting tensions, as well as revealing something about Severus. Thanks for reviewing!

Hehe, quite an assortment of visitors. It's nice to see Snape and Hermione getting along. At least Albus is taking some time off to be with Minnie. Good chapter.
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
Thanks, glad you like it!
Well, it sounds like that was an uncomfortable spell for Severus to be hit by, and in more ways than one. I certainly wouldn't want to be Pansy after she cast that spell of hers! A Actus Adfectus Amor Verissimus isn't a spell to throw around lightly, and this particular spell has consequences that she can't have imagined. I wonder who will be Severus's temporary replacement as Defence teacher? Moody wouldn't be the best choice, considering that he and Severus aren't on the best of terms. Remus might be a better pick, as he has taken the job before, he was a popular teacher, and he isn't as antagonistic as Moody is towards Snape. Moody might be a bit reluctant, too, considering what happened the last time he accepted a job at Hogwarts. It's good to see that Albus is such a help to Severus, because this is such a stressful situation for him, and probably Minerva, too. His relationship with Hermione is promising, too - considering her knowledge of magic, the "Know-It-All Gryffindor" might be a lot of use to him.
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
Definitely not a spell anyone would want to be hit by, I would think, with a potential to be very humiliating -- very risky, not to mention the dreadful repercussions that could occur. I'm glad you're enjoying the story!

I would like to review to whole chapter here. I enjoyed whole part of this story and love the story line. I couldn't help feeling OOC little bit in those three characters especially Minerva. She was brave and she would do anything once she decided to do without Albus's approval or sympathy, Albus would understand and be patient when she needs his support as you have described in that part. But your characterizations are fit nicelyto your story and make things so real. As a MM/SS shipper, I enjoyed the part Severus worshiped Minerva and my heart was tore at the last part of the story she could not accept his feelings... she only offered friend ship. I am wondering if you think the sequel to this story how their new friendship would turn...we all know what happened in HBP after this.
I am looking forward the Epilogue how Albus and Minerva deal this issue, but please don't say it is Granger that you think Severus 's next partner ...I am sorry but I never ever like SS/HG, so I am a helpless MM/SS shipper.
I do not want to think Severus could take another woman short after this story and I can't help hoping Minerva could accept his love someday, even though it would be 40 years later as she had mentioned to Albus (hopefully it comes earlier than 10 years *smile bitterly*). I know it would be nearly impossible that Minerva and Severus become together after HBP...
Thank you for sharing this story.
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
Thank you for reviewing! I'll be posting the epilogue sometime this month. I'm glad you enjoyed the story.
Love the story. I prefer the Severus stuff and somehow the Albus/Minerva sex isn't really something I want to read about more than one or two times. LOL. But that's just me. It's all well written, however.
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
Glad you love the story. :-)
OK, I absolutely loved this chapter, the language flowed, the speech was perfect and the Severus we saw in this was more like I remeber him being once. Beautiful, keep going!xxStellaxx
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
I'm glad you enjoyed it so much. I hope you enjoy the next chapters as well!
Thank you for your review!
Response from ImSoMMAD (Reviewer)
You know I will!xxStellaxx
Wow. What else indeed is there to say?xxStellaxx
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
Thanks!
Oh dear, must you torture me so?? I can honestly say I've never read something so wonderful that I wish I didn't want to read, but as you can obviously see, I feel I simply must finish what you have began. You're writing draws me in and surrounds me. I have trouble drawing away from it!xxStellaxx
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
Oh, my, that does sound like torture! I hope it's got its pleasant points, as well! I'm glad you like the writing.
Thanks for reviewing!
Response from ImSoMMAD (Reviewer)
It definitely has pleasant points, the MMAD is keeping me going!! You're welcome.xxStellaxx
Wow, I can hardly bring myself to review this because it's torturing me so. As repulsive as the idea of Severus and Minerva is to me, (to me, just my opinion) it certainly makes for an interesting story line. Albus and me are both going through hell! Great writing, and need I tell you to keep going?xxStellaxx
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
Thanks -- I think! LOL! I hope that the rest of the story isn't too torturous for you. *grin*
Thank you for reviewing!
Response from ImSoMMAD (Reviewer)
I'm sure it will be, but it'll be torturous in a good way! *Looks confused* Anyway, you're welcome!xxStellaxx
wow, this is heart-wrenching. Poor Severus.
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
I think that "Dreams and Dunderheads" may be my favorite chapter in this story. I think it shows his highs and lows, and as you say, poor Severus! Thanks for reviewing! :-)
OMG, I could KILL Pansy Parkinson.Yes, I'm am extremely caught up in this story. Excellent! Excruciating, but excellent.
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
Yep, Pansy is not looking too good in this story, is she!I'm glad you're still enjoying!
Wow, this is so painful. Wonderful and painful. Poor Severus.
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
Yes, poor Severus. And he'll go through more before the end! Thank you for the review. :-)
Poor Severus!!! Wonderful story so far.
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
Thank you! I hope you continue to enjoy it! :-)
Severus has more issues than a whole periodicals section. :-)
Loved chaps 9 & 10. I actually read the last two installments via the web browser on my smartphone rather than waiting til I was back to my regular computer.
Poor Albus! He is doing so well! I do worry about what will have to come later in the year. Obviously Severus is worrying too. Epilogue! Epilogue! :-)
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
Thanks for reviewing -- and for reading such long chapters on your smartphone!
Yeah, Severus is not the most emotionally healthy wizard around. But given his situation, there's not a lot he can do about it.
The epilogue will be along in a week or so!
Whoever is Severus next partner really ought to send Minerva a thank-you note. She took a rank amateur and taught him how to be a fairly decent lover. Maybe he should get a little therapy. The man's got issues!I look forward to the conclusion of the story.
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
His issues have issues! <chuckle>
It certainly would be nice if he could take what he's learned and put it into practice, wouldn't it?
Thank you for reviewing!
Oh my goodness. Minerva is giving Severus lessons in lovemaking. Talk about being a friend to the guy (LOL). He may not need the Employee Assistance Program afterall! You do a good job of portraying the spells effect of manic depression. He's on a continual rollercoaster of bliss that turns into black depression in moments.
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
Thank you! It is rather like a very rapid cycling manic depression / bipolar disorder -- kind of a cross between that and addiction/withdrawal.
Let's hope that Severus can use those lessons later on with someone else!
Thank you for reviewing!
Snape has practically decompensated with the effects of that nasty spell. I hope Hogwarts has an Employee Assistance Plan, because when this situation is resolved, Snape is going to need some serious psychotherapy to put himself back together. That or a whole lot of Obliviate. It is good that he has an ally in Hermione, giving him more support than just Minerva and Albus.
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
Yeah, it's a nasty spell, and you're right about its effects! And what with being a spy and all, it's hard to find anyone to talk to about your problems, which is one reason he's so messed up even when he's not under the effect of the spell.
I thought it was nice to have Hermione come in and lend him a hand.
Well... what exactly can I say? I don't usually review risque chapters, as I never knwo what to say but I had to tell you this was one of the best I've read. Well done.xxStellaxx
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
I'm glad you enjoyed it. (I know what you mean about not knowing what to say!)
Response from ImSoMMAD (Reviewer)
I'm glad, I didn't want to leave nothing and have you think I hadn't read it! But at the same time, it was good and I had to tell you so.xxStellaxx
Oh dear, I have to feel for Severus. He does seem in rather a hopeless situation. Your writing is fluent, graceful and rather like JKR's herself. I can only congratulate you and hope for more soon!xxStellaxx
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
Thank you! Yes, Severus is in a sad and rather hopeless situation. Too bad it couldn't have been with a witch who was unattached and who also returned his feelings, but love isn't always like that, is it?
Response from ImSoMMAD (Reviewer)
I know, I'm sure there's someone out there who must feel this way for Severus? No, love is almost never like that. It's all a question of degree. Some love too much, others don't love enough.xxStellaxx
Wow, those last few chapters were very well done. The interactions and the introspection were despairing and hopeful and well written overall. I'm glad that Severus got his cure and was man enough to apologize after treating Minerva like crap when they woke up. I'm curious to read the epilogue now and find out what happens next. Good work!
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
Thanks! Severus had five days of pent-up nastiness, plus the sudden shock of waking up "normal" next to Minerva and being flooded with the memory of how he had behaved over the last several days; he almost couldn't help himself. Almost.
I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thank you very much for reviewing!
Very tangy and poor Severus.Excellent work. I'm looking forward to reading more.Truly
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
Glad you liked the "tang"!
