Reviews for An Act of Love
Hello, my penname on ff.net is troesnaja and I found the sequel to this fic there. Since I do not like reading sensored stuff and since I always rather read the whole story I thought I would read this first although reading the whole universe you created would go a bit far for me since, although I do think Minerva and Alus belong together i would much rather read about Snape andpossibly hg instead.
It is still very interesting though, even though this is not my pairing of choice.

It's very easy to read Death's Dominion without having read An Act of Love, and Death's Dominion is the one that I would most recommend reading. Death's Dominion just uses the AAoL event as a premise, but it stands alone, and is a much different story from An Act of Love. It would be fine to read Death's Dominion first, or to skip An Act of Love altogether. There are only a couple spots in Death's Dominion that are lightly edited for ffnet, unlike in a couple of my other fics, such as Resolving a Misunderstanding, where a lot of the content had to be edited. Death's Dominion doesn't have any lemons, though it does have two scenes w/ a little sex in them. Most of the sexual content in the first ten chapters of An Act of Love is not lemony. If you don't like ADMM lemons, those are the only sex scenes in An Act of Love that are actually lemons, so you probably will not like them. If you like the psychological aspect of the story, you might still enjoy it, though.I hope that you read Death's Dominion and enjoy it! It is a complex and mature fic (in the general sense of "mature," not because of any explicit sexual content, haha!), and is the chaptered fic that I would most recommend of any I've written. Have fun! Thanks for the comment!
I love seeing this bit of hope for Severus amidst the dread of what must be coming in the sequel re: Albus and Minerva. This has been a great story, and even though I'm horribly behind in my reading, I'm very much looking forward to reading the sequel!
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
I'm very glad that you enjoyed the story so much! The sequel is being posted now, "Death's Dominion." I hope you enjoy it whenever you are able to read it! It's a bit different.Thank you for reviewing! I appreciate it!
Oh my goodness, Albus Dumbledore said "wank"! ROFL!!
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
Given his age, I'd say he's likely said much worse over the years! Glad it amused you! lol
I think Minerva is a bit worried about those tingles she felt when Severus was kissing her, someone should tell her she can't help her physical reaction, even if she doesn't love him in that way.
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
She'll talk to Albus about it.Thanks for reviewing!
What a rollercoaster journey Severus is on, heights of delight one moment then depths of despair the next.
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
I'm glad you're enjoying it! Thank you!
Poor Severus, so needy and sappy and he knows it LOL
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
I know, the poor guy. And it only gets worse! Thanks for reviewing.
They are all so caring to each other, makes the story very sweet
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
Thank you!
very nicely written lemons !
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
Thank you very much! Glad you like them! (If you enjoy them here, you may want to read the one-shots "Obliging Minerva" and "Heat" -- and the chaptered fic "A Holiday with the Headmaster.")
I can't help laughing a little at Hermione - telling herself she's too sensible to crush on a teacher, and enumerating his faults to herself to reinforce the idea. Give it up, girl! This was a great epilogue. It wrapped up the story nicely, and really set up the sequel. Thanks for an excellently written story. I really do enjoy your writing, and hope you keep 'em coming.
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
Thanks! I'm very glad you liked the epilogue. I was waiting to post it until I was ready to begin posting the sequel. And you're right about Hermione -- give it up! haha!Thank you for reviewing!
I've been writing like a Mmad woman of late and am terribly behind in my reading. The first place I came was here and looked for your name so I can catch up.This is such a positive ending to a story about a most unusual problem. You offer a tease of hope for Albus to escape a fate looming before him. At the same time, you've given Snape a reason to hope for the future.Well done!
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
I'm glad you liked the epilogue! (I'm even further behind in my reading, and there's only one story I'm still trying to read -- and you know which one that is! So believe me, I know about writing like a Mmad woman!)Thanks for reviewing -- I'll be interested to know what you think of the sequel so far! (Death's Dominion)
Sweet!!!!!!! Yay! a bit of HG/SS. And why is Albus refusing a spell that may help him? Could the curse damage Minerva, too? WHY is Albus not looking into other cures/courses of action? Why hurt Minerva + Severus so badly? It doesn't make sense.
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
It makes perfect sense in the larger scheme of things to Albus. Think of what would have happened in the tower if Severus hadn't AK'd Dumbledore. That is what Albus fears is the only other alternative. More anon, as they say -- or as someone once used to say! There's the sequel, which just had the prologue posted yesterday. I don't know as you'll find many of your questions answered there in the prologue, but . . . I hope you'll enjoy it nonetheless! Thanks for the review!
Ooooh, I'm so glad you've finally written the epilogue for this story \o/So bittersweet! And I'm really curious about the sequel, I hope it will not take long!Thank you for another wonderful, amazing story! *Marina
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
Much of the epilogue was drafted a few months ago, but I wanted to wait until I had more of the sequel finished before I finished the epilogue and posted it. The sequel will begin posting very soon!I'm glad you liked the story so well, and I hope you enjoy the sequel, too! Thanks for reviewing!
Very very cool. I'm glad you finished this up and I really looking forward to the sequel. Thank you for a truly wonderful story.Truly
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
You're welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I wanted to wait until I had most of the sequel written to post the epilogue. I hope you enjoy the sequel! Thanks for the reviews!
Fantastic story - I am glad that Minerva decided not to trick Albus, but I wish that he would share what is happening with her! I can't wait until the sequal!
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
Thank you! If you would like to see just a bit more about the sequel, take a look at my LJ. I do plan on beginning to post it very soon, however.I'm glad you enjoyed the epilogue!
I've really enjoyed this story, as well as your others; I haven't commented on this because it wasn't finished. I love your characterization; you really work through every motivation, thought, and potential consequence. The entire thing was brilliant from beginning to end, epilogue included. It's a perfect lead into your sequel - HG&SS 'friends', potentially, HG's growing maturity while drawing away from Harry & Ron, & Minerva worried again, after formerly being reassured, all because Albus aparently wants to die.... (I notice that neither he nor his thoughts were in the epilogue - nice suspense builder.) I'm really looking forward to the next part.
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
I am glad you enjoyed the story. I hope you enjoy the sequel, as well! I do work at construction, both of the overall story and of the various pieces. I was waiting to post the epilogue until I got closer to posting the sequel. I'm glad you're looking forward to it!Thank you for your review!
I can't beleve this story is over. How sad. This has been such a wonderful story from start to finish. It was truly a little hard to read in some places, namely the growing passions of Severus for Minerva and then the release from the spell. But I have to compliment you on the outsanding job you did in keeping everyone in character (outside the spell of course) and making the events believable. It was nice to see Heremione checking on Severus. I'm sure, though he'd be hard pressed to admit it, that he appreciates the gesture, as well as the shared chocolates. That was a very nice touch. I'm happy Minerva decided against tricking Albus with the spell, though my heart does go out for her, worrying about him all the time and not understanding his reluctance to try new things to restore his hand or help him. I think my heart broke a little when Minerva began to ponder the notion that perhaps Albus thought she wasn't his greatest love, no matter how implausible that notion might be in the clear light of day.Still, I have to say that this was an outstanding story and one really challenged me in so many ways. I'm so happy that I decided to read the story and to follow it all the way through to the end. Now, I'm certainly looking forward to the sequel!! I'm sure it's going to be amazing!TTFN,GLM
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
Thank you very much! I am glad that you kept up with the story, even when you found it challenging, and that you enjoyed it so much. The sequel will be quite different from this story, different in structure and tone -- different from anything I've done before, I think, at least for the span of an entire story. I look forward to knowing what you think of it.Thank you for all of your reviews! I really appreciate them.
This has been a great story and I truly look forward to the sequel. Fantastic work!

:) I love them. I really do. Fabulous story, really, and I will read it all the way through. Especially since the mention of Melina made me realise it's probably the same world as RaM, no? And though I'm apprehensive of both the epilogue and the sequel because of what comes next in HBP I am going to read this completely because I am still looking forward to reading them.
Author's Response:
I'm glad you liked it. It is the RaM universe, at least one version of what might happen after RaM.
You never know the effect of one miscast spell and what its repercussions might be . . . don't worry so much about the epilogue and the sequel. *grin*

Well. I said I would review. I'm rather a little bit speechless, in a good way of course. Well, I'm a lot speechless actually. And I doubt this will be one of my longer reviews other than to say: Oh my God! *Blushes* When you said it was racy I didn't realise... I take back everything I have ever before thought about lemons all being the same, you have proven me completely and utterly wrong. Everything I have read in these chapters has been wonderful and it's been a really enjoyable read. I think I shall try again to read it all (especially considering that there will be a sequel), and if needs be I'll skim read the Severus parts. I expect it makes a nice change not to read a review from me where I'm raving about how stupid they are :P Right, I'm off to read chapter 15.
Author's Response:
LOL! Now you see why I *blushed*! Yeah, definitely not the same old same old! *blush*
Thank you for reading, reviewing, and appreciating! *grin* I'm glad you enjoyed it so much. I hope you can manage the rest of the story now!
And it is nice not to have you banging their heads together in frustration!
"Although Severus . . . well, I suppose he has mastered the spells they will be practising tomorrow. Transfiguration was never his strongest subject as a student.”"
*THANK* you! I do love my Snape, but I wish he could be bad at *something* besides interpersonal relationships with children!
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
True! Sometimes we do make him too perfect, despite his nastyish personality! Thanks for reviewing!
OH MY GOD I CAN'T *BELIEVE* HIM!
(In character, though . . . yes, yes it was . . . We in the Snape fandom too frequently forget what an absolute ass he is sometimes!)
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
But he did apologise, which he wouldn't have done before, most likely.
Thanks for reviewing!
This is really a very compelling read. And although I'm not reading the, er, "lemony bits" with McGonagall and Dumbledore (I "see" them as Dame Maggie Smith and Richard Harris, and I prefer to read lemony bits featuring people nearer my own age), I'm also quite glad you're showing said bits in a positive light.
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
Thank you for reviewing.
I really like how Minerva and Albus are being so sweet to him in his time of need. Showing him that they value him and love him and appreciate him. Even if Minerva doesn't love him romantically, she still clearly feels for him a great deal, and so does Albus.
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
Thank you!
I loved the bit about Snape struggling with his nobler emotions, not even knowing what to call them--and comparing them to how Hermoine made him feel. Brilliant! It made me teary. I am still processing Snape after DH, I still have not decided how I feel about him--as I had hated him about as much as Harry did!--but I do love how you write him. I like the frienship between Minerva and Poppy. I'm all for an AU, so I'm hoping you have a story in mind that doesn't take us to the Lightening-Struck Tower! But I'll keep reading either way! I really enjoyed this story! :-) I look forward to the epilogue.
Response from MMADfan (Author of An Act of Love)
I'm very glad you enjoyed this chapter, and Snape's new-found emotions. I think you will like the sequel, although the opening will be a bit of a surprise. Just keep reading and remember that I like happy endings! *grin* Thanks very much for the review!
