Update June 4, 2013:
Parenthood: Ready or Not - Chapter 13 has a good chunk written and I'm trying very hard to get my head back into it so that it's not left abandoned.
Other than that, I've really wandered away from fandom and am mostly writing original things.
Reviews for Parenthood: Ready or Not
I would like to apologize for not reviewing all of the chapters, I came upon this fic with the seven already in place and I just enjoyed it so much I had to continue to read it all togather. It is a really nice fice and I love how it is really coming togather. Please continue this I am really looking foward to reading it in its completion and I assure you I will be reviewing each and every chapter from here on out. I just love it sooooo much. Cant wait for more!! Keep up the great work! ;)
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
You're too sweet! I'm just so glad I have people reading and enjoying this story, it's really getting me to want to write again! I look forward to your future reviews, and thank you profusely for this one!
awww, that was so sweet. Its nice of him to make the effort, I just wish he would have adopted the little sister too, I understand his reasonings but, family should stick togather. Very good job
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Well, we can't expect Severus to be too kind, right? It wouldn't be very nice of me if I left them completely separated for long, though, would it? Thanks for the review!
Awww, bless! Jessica really has to be in Slytherin... she's so sneaky in a kid like way *smirk*
I look forward to the next chapter!
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
There is so much to Jessica, I really want to do a chapter in her Point of View, but I think I'll see if you all would like that. As far as her being in Slytherin... hmmm, I hadn't thought too much about which house she would be in! Thanks so much for the review!
Response from JTBJAB (Reviewer)
Maybe not her POV, but more from her angle. As in her thoughts inserted into the text? It would be easier to write, and wouldn't jar so much as going from 3rd to 1st person POV.
*grin* either way, I'll be reading it.
woo whooo! This is going to be so great! Albus has a right to twinkle, Severus needs a child, it'll be good for him.
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Albus is such a twinkler, isn't he? But he also knows having a child will be good for Severus. Please do continue reading and thanks so much for reviewing!
That was very sweet. I really am enjoying this.
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Aww, thanks so much!
Who is going to take care of Hermione's boy while she takes out all of the other kids? I think Severus is going to have to get braiding lessons from Hermione. Cute fic, I like the mellow pace.
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Oh, I haven't mentioned the details of where Hermione's charge is, have I? I suppose because the story is in Severus's POV, there hasn't been an opportunity. I shall have to remember to put that in sometime! Thanks for pointing that out, and thanks so much for the review!
Having a little tenderness in this awful world is something I really appreciate. Especially at the moment. He is doing a great job with little Jessica and I'd like to read the moment when she called her daddy. The look on his face would be absolutely delighting. I'd like to add that I love this particularly chapter for the touches of humour all along it. Great thanks to you.
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
When I began writing this, I did not intend for it to be this wonderful ball of fluff, however it is how the muse has deemed it to be! Hmm, when will Jessica begin calling him 'Daddy'? I'll have to keep that in mind! Honestly, I never thought I was any good at writing humour, so thank you for noticing and enjoying it!
great chapter! very cute! in the third paragraph you misspelled foul. just thought i'd let you know! :)
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Oh did I? I must go look and change that, then! Thanks for spotting it, and thanks for reading!
Ahh! He's brushing her hair... too cute! This is too perfect, some snarkiness or gloominess must be coming around the bend. *Peeks around to see.* Good chapter, cheers!
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Wasn't that cute? I wrote that chapter a while back, so when I got it back from my beta and read the corrections, even I was like 'awww how cute!' lol, I'm silly! So you think it's the calm before the storm, eh? Hmmm, we'll see! Thanks so much for reading and reviewing!
I am interested to see where this story goes.. thank you for writing it
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Me too! lol, thank you for reading it!
this is becomin a delightful story, thank you
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
It's a treasure to write! Thanks for reading!
This is a very touching story. I look forward to seeing where it goes!
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Thanks! I look forward to that, as well! lol... The muse is in complete control, I tell you!
I like that he's feeling a little unsettled about keeping Maria and Jessica apart. It's only human. :) Blaise... that prick. LOL
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Yes, he does feel something about it, doesn't he? But being the stubborn man that he is, he's refusing to admit it! Blaise... well, I do feel sorry for Blaise because I know the true reason he's acting this way! Thanks for the review!
OK, I really don't like Blaise for Hermione. And I don't think Snape will be bad for Jessica.
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Well Blaise does have a very good, though hidden reason, for Severus to not be caring for Jessica. This will be revealed in Chapter Eight. And I think it's more that Jessica is being great for Severus *wink* Though they are a good match, no doubt! Thanks for the review!
Enjoyable read, I'm looking forward to more!
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Thanks for the review! Chapter Six is up now!
What? Blaise? LOL I trust that won't last. I hope. Teehee. I'm so happy Maria is with a family nearby. That's just great. So... projects for Snape it is then. I like it. And I can't wait until Percy's boy realizes that they are truly trying to care for him.
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
LOL, I must admit the confusion about Blaise is tickling me to pieces! I promise it is just for plot purposes! There is a very important reason why Molly and Arthur took little Maria in, and this reason will come into play a bit later in the story. I will definitely put focus on one or both of Snape's projects...I can't wait to see where the muse takes me with them! As for Percy's boy, David, his attitude will be explained later! Thanks so much for the review!
Oh, what a wonderful update!
I do hope that David settles down a little - so maybe he only acts up with Percy *evil grin*
I can't wait for the next chapter - of course - and seeing more of Hermione...
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Hehe, thanks!! I'm not sure if David will come into the picture again anytime soon - for now the story will focus on Severus and Jessica. However, before the end of the story, David's attitude will be explained, I promise! There will be more of Hermione, but it will be a little bit before her and Severus interact too much. Slow and steady, lol... Thanks so much for the review!
Blaise? What the heck? I wonder how the other will react when seeing Severus act like a father.
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
lol, I do so love people's confusion to my placing Hermione with Blaise. It is solely for plot purposes, I promise! Thanks so much for the review!
Snape is really growing into a good parent, isn't he? Ron being a git... as usual. (lol) Granger and Zambini? Not sure about that one. o_O' Good job and keep it coming! Cheers!
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Yes, he is, which has confused Severus and myself, however we have both bowed to the discretion of the muse on that! Poor Ron, I really do like him, however it's so difficult to write him as kind when writing outside of a Ron/Hermione pairing. Ah, yes, Hermione and Blaise, such an odd pair, I know. Honestly, it's just for plot purposes, I will not subject you to any Blaise/Hermione romance scenes! Thanks so much for the review
Severus is making a good father, isn't he? I can't see Hermione with Blaise, though. Not permanently.
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Oh, I've thought of doing a secondary fic based on the relationship between Hermione and Blaise in this fic, but I'm not sure if I will. They are together for the sake of the plot. However, this will ultimately be a Severus/Hermione friendship/romance, so they cannot possibly stay together permanently! As for Severus making a good father, he and I are both confused, but the muse decided that's the way it's to be in this fic! Thanks so much for the review!
This is such a fun story. I like how you have Severus and Jessica acting like a family without belaboring the point. You have painted a wonderful visual with him picking her up easily and wiping away her tears, just like he had been doing it for years. I think he has reached a comfort level as a parent he never allowed himself to seek or even want. I guess he's a natural -- who knew? (lol) Anyway, keep up the good work. I am really enjoying it. Thanks, JoAnne
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
When I first started the story, I did not plan for this to be so easy for him, however, the muse took it that way and who am I to defy the muse? Anyway, Severus will be very confused to hear that he's a natural at parenting, but I'll think he'll survive! lol... Thanks so much for the review!
Oh, Oh, Oh!!!!
You have to update soon!!!!
PLEASE!
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Thanks for the enthusiasm! It's contagious, y'know! And, oh look, I updated... just for you and your enthusiasm!
Response from JTBJAB (Reviewer)
You did!!!!????
*runs around in circle like a headless chicken before clicking on recently updated*
Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!
I really like Snape in this one. :)
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
I do too, but I fear that he's so out-of-character that people are going to yell at me! lol, now I must think of something for him to do that's really mean and sneaky and oh-so-Slytherin-ish! Thanks for this review, too!
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Reviewer)
Nah, children have a way of melting even the hardest people sometimes. Well, our own children anyway, ya know? Plus she's giving Snape unconditional love it seems, and that's likely something he's not experienced before. So, bring on the new layer of Snape and leave his Potter mask in canon (teehee). :) You're doing well.
Bwahahaha. Sneaky Weasleys. I love Snape's little girl. I can only hope that her little sister is with Hermione. Teehee. :) Great story, doll.
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Oh, I've always imagined Molly as being sneaky and able to get people to do what she wants under the pretense of it being for their own good. Thanks for the review!
