Update June 4, 2013:
Parenthood: Ready or Not - Chapter 13 has a good chunk written and I'm trying very hard to get my head back into it so that it's not left abandoned.
Other than that, I've really wandered away from fandom and am mostly writing original things.
Reviews for Parenthood: Ready or Not
Excellant!!! Loved it... and I can't wait for the next chapter! I wanna see what Molly does next.... how Severus reacts... if Jessica tells him what happened...please please update again soon!
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Thank you so much! You're reviews always make me smile!I really want to update soon, but the muse has been very vague about what happens next with Severus and Jessica — she wants to focus on Hermione and Mark. However, I will definitely try to update soon! Thanks, as always, for reviewing!
Response from JTBJAB (Reviewer)
That's just as interesting... *nudges muse to get things going*
Wow. Blaise has just blown any chance he might ever have had of being trusted with her! Very intense chapter! *offers your muse chocolate for more*
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Blaise is a little crazed, I know. We'll have to see how Severus reacts, hmm. Thanks so much for the review and the chocolate!
I think that Severus is right! Jessie will be sorted into Slytherin. She is already putting those Slytherin tendencies into practice. Can't wait for the next update.

lol, definitely. She's a clever little girl, for sure! Thanks so much for the review! The next chapter should be up by the end of the week.

thats pretty unrealistic for a 7 year old.. Most seven year olds cannot read that well, and definately would not think about "owling their progress" to a person. You need to remember that most kids only start to learn to read at age 6. I think a little revision might be in order. I do like the story though.
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Thank you for the concrit, I really do appreciate it! However, Jessica didn't actually come up with the idea all on her own. Molly's been whispering in her ear and there's a very good reason that she's playing matchmaker. And there are many children who learn to read earlier than age 6. Thank you so much for reading and reviewing! I do hope you continue to read!
I read this story while walking on my treadmill. It is absolutely brilliant! I need more!
Great chapter... glad RL finally let up enough for you to be able to update!!!
I can't wait until the next chapter!!!
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Oh thanks! RL if still crazy, but it's settling down. I can't wait to get the next chapter to you all! It's finished, just needs to be sent to my beta. Hope to see you next chapter! Thanks so much for the review!
I am so happy to see an update to this wonderful story, I hope you will let us see chapter ten real soon:-) I cross my fingers for the hearing, and hope that you will not let anyone remove Jessica from Severus, it will break both their harts. I would love to see a glimpse of Hermiones boy too, so far we have only had him mentioned by name, it would be nice to know a little bit more about him. Keep writing and update soon!!
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Oh I hope you can see chapter ten soon too! It's already finished, I just need to find a way to get it to my beta. It really would destroy them, if I separated them, wouldn't it? That would be really mean of me. I don't know if Mark will appear in this story at all, but his part in this storyline will become apparent before too long. I'll keep writing and I hope to see you next chapter! Thanks so much for the review!
Wow. I love this story line. There aren't many fics of Severus and a child. You're doing a great job, keep it up.
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Awww, thanks so much! I really have struggled with this story, trying to make it realistic enough. Hope to see you next chapter! Thanks so much for the review!
I'm so glad to see this! This is a very sweet chapter. Poor Jessie, having to be so afraid she'll lose her new family. I look forward to the next chapter when it's ready!
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
I'm so glad it's finally up! Jessie's a terrific little girl, I think she'll find a way to work out any situation. If I can ever get the next chapter (which is finished) off my laptop and onto a computer with internet, I will be a happy person! Thanks for the review!
Sweet chapter and i hope that Severus does keep Jessie in his custody. Go, Sev, go! And for the love of Merlin, learn how to braid the girl's hair! heehee!
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Thanks! I would have to be very cruel to take her away, wouldn't I? Hmmm. Well, Severus really hasn't decided if he's going to let Hermione teach him to braid hair... I'm trying to prod him, but he's a very stubborn man. Thanks so much for the reivew! Hope to see you next chapter!
Oh, I really want Jessie to stay with Severus. Thanks for the chapter.
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
It would be terribly mean of me to separate them, wouldn't it? Thanks for the review!
So glad you're back. I just thought you let this go. Very lovely chapter. I love Daddy Severus : he is so sweet.
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Oh, I will never let this go. This has been a three year project and has seen me through all the major changes in my life, lol. It's my baby! Thanks so much for the review, I love Daddy Severus, too! See you next chapter, I hope!
Response from snitchette (Reviewer)
Don't worry : the one who will succeed to help me reading isn't born yet.
This story is so sweet! I can't wait to read more of it!
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Aww thanks! I can't wait to write more of it! lol... Thanks so much for the review! Hope to see you next chapter!
I love the story! Great plot with a good writing style too.Living relatives . . . what the?I think a chapter from Jessica's POV would have to be extremely well written to be pulled off. I've read some other fics from the point of view of a child, and they were sometimes downright annoying. I would suggest establishing Jessica's character more fully before doing a chapter in her POV. Or maybe that would be the best way to establish her character. Who knows?Looking forward to your next update!
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Thanks so much for the review! I definitely value my reader's input and I'll take into account keeping any chapter written in Jessica's POV not annoying. lol... Thanks again!
Interesting how the girls take defense for Severus, not that he needed it but it still please someone when his abilities are recognized. Now I have to wait, not too long I hope, for the next chapter to read.
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Hermione and Blaise had obviously argued about him confronting Snape before and she has her reasons for choosing to believe in him. Luna, she's so interesting, isn't she? But anyway, the next chapter should be up within the week. Thanks so much for reviewing!
“Oh? May I ask what is, then?”“You may ask, but I don’t have to answer.”That is so SeverusStill looking for his newly adopted daughter out of the corner of his eye [...] He walked to the sniffling girl and picked her up easily. [...] wiping her tears softly with his thumbAnd all that is so sweeeeet. You know it was hard to imagine Severus beeing kind to someone but actually it's getting easier each word you write that I read. Thank you.PS : this deserves 7 stars at least to my opinion ;)
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Awww, you're too sweet! When I set out to write this, Severus was not meant to settle into the role of caring father so easily, but the muse was determined to see him so —and who am I to deny the muse? Thanks so much for the review!
Severus is enjoying her company, isn't he. That's so nice and so unexepected regarding his feelings when he learnt he had to adopt a child. Now he has to make a new encounter with Hermione and get to know and love her and everything will be perfect. *grin* *big sigh of satisfaction*. Well I stop here my stupidities and I go read the two next chapters. Thanks for all your writings.
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Yes, he certainly -though undoubtedly unexpectedly- is... He's not quite over the bridge into fatherhood yet, though. He has much to learn! Thanks for the review!
Fab chapter!
I feel a smidgen sorry for Blaise... but not really *grin*
I look forward to your next chapter!
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Thanks! I think everyone might feel sorry for Blaise by the time the reason for his anger toward Snape is revealed.... I look forward to the next chapter too *looks expectantly at her wonderful beta* Thanks for the review!
I can't wait to find out if Severus decorated, or if he had help. I'd love to think that it was Severus' hidden sweet side.
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Severus did not change his quarters at all, except to add a bedroom and bathroom for Jessica. I don't believe I actually explain the decor of her rooms, but I'll keep it in mind for future reference... Thanks so much for the review!
The unusual pair soon reached the hidden entrance to Severus’ chambers (the whereabouts of which shall remain unnamed). Severus muttered the incantation (the words to which cannot be revealed) to expose the entrance door.I love this!!
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
lol, I was half tempted to pull the cute bits out of that sentence, but I enjoy them being there. It's just the right amount of silly that this fic needs! Thanks so much for the review!
It's cute. I'm surprised to see Severus' behavior towards the kid : he really acts like a father and considering his experience (or lack of it) it's good news for the next. I suppose we'll meet Hermione again in the next chapter, and her child of course ;)
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Severus is trying very hard to be a good boy, lol.... I've taken the route that he's gotten so tired of being alone, that he's not going to screw up his first chance at someone actually enjoying his company. Hermione will come into the picture in Chapter Five. Thanks so much for the review!
I reviewed this yesterday, but it apparently got deleted when the server crashed. So far I like this story line: it's a novel idea and that's refreshing. I know you can't tell me if i'm right, but I think Hermione will end up adopting the little sister of the child Severus chose.
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Alas, no, I cannot tell you if you're right, nor would I be able to even if I could... *twinkle* lol, thanks so much for the review!
I very much look forward to the next chapter!
I'm kind of guessing that Hermione is going to get the younger of the two syblings... and they're gonna get together... on Hermione's insistance or something.
Even if I'm wrong I look forward to reading the outcome!
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
lol thanks for the speculation and the review! I love hearing what people think of this little fic!
OOOO good start!!! You got me hooked!! Can't wait to read more.
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Thanks! I can't wait to write more! *grin* Thanks so much for the review!
