Update June 4, 2013:
Parenthood: Ready or Not - Chapter 13 has a good chunk written and I'm trying very hard to get my head back into it so that it's not left abandoned.
Other than that, I've really wandered away from fandom and am mostly writing original things.
Reviews for Parenthood: Ready or Not
Sorry I've not reviewed in a while, but I want you to know that I truly adore this story.

It's ok, you've reviewed now, so all is well! I'm so glad you like this little story! Thanks for the review!
I hope all goes well at the Burrow when Jessica eventually sees Maria. That's bound to stir some very raw emotions for the girl. Looking forward to the next chapter. Cheers!
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Hmm, will Jessica be seeing Maria at the Burrow, though? Jessica is mature beyond her years and there's a reason for that, but before I give too much away.... Thanks so much for the review!
Response from mmesnape (Reviewer)
... oooohhhhh!? That sounds very intriguing, indeed.
Interesting take on this! I am enjoying this story. Author's Response: Oh, do you know the challenge? Thanks for the review!
I'm enjoying this - Jessica is a doll and whilst I am sad that Severus did not adopt her sister as well, I have high hopes that she is with a certain bushy-haired Know-It-All. :)
I look forward to your next chapter!Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
I adore Jessica, but I should, shouldn't I? lol... Hmm, where oh where is little Maria? Shall be revealed next chapter, I promise! Thanks so much for the review!
Great start, this is a really interesting premise. I look forward to reading more.
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Thanks for the review!
I'm so happy to see this updated! Thank you so much. It was wonderful.
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Thank you!
That sounds very interesting. And I'm practically sure that now Severus has chosen Jessica Augustus, Hermione will have her baby sister Mary Kay. The ministry won't separate the sisters, did he ? I hope I can read more soon.
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Aw, well, that would make things much easier, wouldn't it? Hmm, we'll see how the muse feels about Hermione having little Maria. The Ministry cannot force anyone to take in more than one child, therefore they cannot control the separation of siblings. Chapter Two explains this. Thanks so much for the reivew!
Wonderfull story, thank you for the update.
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Thank you! For the compliment and the review!
Oh, please update again, soon!

I'm afraid I don't know how long it will take to get the next chapter out. It's being particularly troublesome. Thanks for the review!

Oh dear, how's he going to deal with Blaise?Looking forward to the next chapter!
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
That is a very good question! Hopefully I'll get the next chapter finished and posted by the end of the month!Thank you so much for all your wonderful reviews!
Good lass, she knows she needs Severus as much as he needs her (whether he wants to admit it or not). ;)
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
She certainly does seem to, doesn't she? :)
LOL, yes I think Severus was right in his assessment that she would be in Slytherin. ;)
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
I won't deny that I definitely see a lot of Slytherin in Jessie!
Little sod! She is a meddling Dumbledore in the making and in cahoots with Molly Weasley too! Love it!
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
LOL! I'm glad you're enjoying it!
Aw, poor Severus and Jessica. So what is it that Blaise has against Severus? And is Blaise the unknown family member or is he referring to Maria since Severus opted to not take both girls in?
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Blaise - well, you'll just have to keep reading to find out! And, he is not referring to Maria. I suppose I should have worded it that 'There is a living adult relative of the adoptee.' Sorry about the confusion!Thank you so much for reading, and for revewing each chapter! I've very much enjoyed your thoughts on all of them, and I hope you'll keep reading! You still have a few chapters left to read
So now that he's reached a level of comfort with her he's now asked her to call him Severus. Seems like a good way that you've eased into it.Gah, Jr. Dumbledore in the making! So, what's his fascination with Hermione / Miss Granger now?
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
I'm so glad you think it was a good way to ease into having Jessica call him Severus.*secretive smile* This is posted under Potions Under Duress, lol!
Maybe it's just me, but I don't see Ginny's humour in Jessica calling him Professor. I can't see him immediately opening up and wanting to be called Daddy and it's better than him just being called Severus... Oh well.I love how they're all trying to guilt-trip him into taking Maria as well. I wonder how this is going to work out...Is he seriously just realising this year's going to be a different one? ;)
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Oooh! Don't ask me what I was thinking when I wrote Ginny's giggles. That was years ago! No, it's definitely been in character for him to want her to call him Professor.Isn't it just great how they're all doing that?Ah, no, he's definitely not realizing it just now. It's just that moment where he's acknowledging it, as though he'd been wishing that somehow it would have all been a bad dream. Thanks so much for reading and reviewing!
As I said I'm very glad you're back. It would have been sad to think this story would never have been finished. As for Sev I feared he would set a harsh punishment but I found this one fair enough. He had a lot to learn and is doing quite nicely. And very protective he is. I'll be looking forward to other future updates.
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Thank you so much! Every time I thought of this story sitting here, nearly abandoned, it broke my heart. This is my baby! I'm determined to finish it, no matter how long it takes me!I'm so glad you found this punishment fair enough. I think that Severus might have been remembering himself around her age, and what punishments he'd received as a child. I like to think that Severus vents his anger on his students, but would want to break that cycle of abuse in his own home.Thank you, again, for coming back and reading/reviewing again!
Interesting and exciting! I don't know what will come next, but I WOULD like to know why Hermione was going out with Blaise in the first place, why she broke up with him, whether Blaise's attachment to Jessica is simply misplaced family values or something more sinister, what Snape's students think of him running around after Jessica...I look forward to the next chapter :)
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Oooh! All very good thoughts. I must say, you've tickled my muse with them. Perhaps you'll get some of the answers you would like in the upcoming chapters. Thanks so much for reading and reviewing!
I'm glad you are back. Is Hermione going to get Severus involved in the cure for Mark?
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Me too! Severus is already involved, remember, Ginny made him sign a contract in order for him to view her team's research into it a few chapters ago. (I know, it's been so long! I had to reread the entire thing so that I would remember all the little things that had happend!) Thank you so much for reading and reviewing!
Interesting on Hermione's life and child. I think Severus is enjoying having a child more than he thought he would and quite protective of her. I thought he'd do more than just tell off Penelope over the boy knocking Jessica in the mud.
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
I would have to agree :) Don't think Severus will forget Davey and what he did when Davey ends up at Hogwarts. I'm sure he'll very much enjoy torturing the kid. *grin*
LOL, lovely decor for Jessica! Now did he pick it out himself or did he have help?
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Thanks! Oh, I imagine he had some help. In fact, I believe Dumbledore might have had something to do with it. *grin*
Oh dear, just *what* did Arthur get him to sign?
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Just a little legally binding contract :) Looking forward to your thoughts on all the chapters!
Interesting start to the story, and the girl has a younger sister. I can just imagine whom ends up with the sibling. ;)
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Keep reading and you'll find out just where little Maria has gone! Thanks for the review!
interesting premise. I can't believe arthur would pass that law, but I also can't wait to see where this story goes :)
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Awww, well it's not a bad-spirited law, at all. There really are a lot of orphans from the war, and they believe that they all deserve a chance in a home. I hope you enjoy the rest of the story!
Response from mock_turtle (Reviewer)
well no, it's not bad-spirited, but there's a reason some responsible people decide not to have children--they know they wouldn't make good parents! Of course, if I was writing this story, little Jessica would probably have PTSD and snape would scare the crap out of her, which really wouldn't make a very good story. So more power to you :) I think you're probably more of an optimist than I am.
Response from Delayed Poet (Author of Parenthood: Ready or Not)
Well, when I first started writing this, I was much more obsessed with fluff! I imagine that, now, over 5 years since I began this project, if I were just starting it, it would be tremendously more angsty! Though, I must tell you, it's not all fluff - there is some angst later on. So, please keep reading! I'd love to know what you make of the later chapters!
I'm glad to know that Blaise's intentions were not bad. And that Severus is really a good father. As for Minerva's words of comforting that rings a bell in me but from where ?
