Such a short chapter, but very well written. It pulls your readers in and makes them want more. I hope the rest of the chapters for this fiction are not as short, however. ^_^

A really intriguing idea, that Hermione blames her Muggle assumptions for the death of Snape. And it looks like she's been working to ensure that the next generation of Muggle-borns do not have to suffer such regret. And you're playing off her reactions in the first barrier to the Philosopher's Stone, too. I'll follow this one with interest!

Thank you! I always found it slightly illogical, not to mention unfair, to inform Muggle-borns as late as on their 11th birthday. While I can understand that one cannot tell small children about the magical world it would spare their parents a lot of anxiety to know about accidental magic.

an excellent start! So few words, and she has caught Severus' attention. Ron could have known what Hermione missed, had he set his mind to actually thinking or caring, right? Looking forward to more! Could Severus share his recipe, btw?

Sorry, no recipe, I googled it during writing and didn't save it...I guess JKR did write Severus' death like she did (torn throat plus venom of a snake so deadly that Mr Weasley only just survived after a comparatively minor injury) to leave no room for doubt. And for guilt. It is only us fanfiction writers and readers who wish for his possible survival. Thank you!

So many questions raised in the first chapter, sounds like my kind of story. I love storys that make me think, I don't like to be spoon fed, can't wait for more.

And what is Ronald's excuse for not believing that Snapey could survive the injury? Looking forward to the next post!

Ah well, that's an interesting angle. I must admit I haven't thought about that (which is propably a bit unfair towards Ronald, reading mostly H&S-stories must have coloured my perception of him). Thank you!
