Thank you so much for another update, I love your story.
"Severus also watched a YouTube clip of a BBC version of Sense and Sensibility in which Colonel Brandon looked like a fairer-haired and slightly heavier version of himself. " Heh."He decided to act manly and ignore the problem for the moment."HAHAHAHAHAHA.True, though. At least for some men.

Ah he dose want to meet her, can't wait for that first meeting. I hope the meeting with Draco goes well. Draco can be such a prat at times. Great chapter.
Rickman was such a nice Col. Brandon.
Anyway - what a lovely idea to make Snape refer to Austen by incident; I'd have a hard time believing he read them and enjoyed them. However he'd never stoop to admitting the reference was an accident - heavens forbid!
I'm looking forward to the consequences of Severus' manly action.
Oh, I hope Draco is pleasantly surprised rather than upset about Severus' long absence! If Draco can take the news well, Hermione must be close behind. Thank you for updating!
Draco is in for a shock! :)
I can't believe I haven't reviewed this yet... This is such an intriguing story. There are many different versions of how Snape might have coped with survival. I really like how healthy (mentally and physically) your Severus is. Of course, now things are getting a little sticky... he is meeting with Draco, and this could expose his ruse to Hermione... Ooooo I can't wait! Thank you for the lovely story!

Very nice, bringing Colonel Brandon into the mix. I wonder if Hermione's seen the movie. It does begin to sound as if Severus is really serious about courting her. I didn't quite follow the ins and outs of how Severus knew Draco hadn't been given a reason for the summons. Presumably he heard about it at the dinner with Narcissa and Lucius, but since you didn't tell us, it made me puzzle for a moment. Also the line "If you‘re still interested (I know you are!)"--he hasn't said anything about wanting to meet Draco. But in any case, it sounds like Draco's going to get a big surprise. Loved the elegant Malfoy pop of apparition!

Hmmm. I'm not an Austen fan, although I have read Pride and Prejudice (HS English), so I'm not familiar with the characters of Sense and Sensibility. However, I have heard of the book. ^_^

Watching the film (BBC-version with Emma Thompson, Kate Winslet and Alan Rickman) is also very enjoyable ... Thank you!

... act manly and ignore the problem...
Perfect!! At least he seems to know what a predictable and poor decision it is.
Looking forward to the dinner and talk. Uh oh.
Well, if he manages the meeting well enough with Draco, he'll have a bit of help with Hermione. It speaks well of him that he considers Draco an abandoned child.
He decided to act manly and ignore the problem for the moment.
No truer words were ever spoken, lol. I hope he make a good choice so he doesn't mess things up with Hermione. Although, I wonder what will happen when Draco meets him?
Ah, nothing like the mannish way of ignoring a problem. LOL It'll be interesting to see Draco's reaction to finding Severus is still alive and if he can keep that secret.
Col. Brandon is one of my favourite Characters, { nothing to do with an actor with the initials AR of course }. Trust Lucius to "pop" with style.
You left us *there*? With visions of Col. Brandon in our heads?
Looking forward to seeing how Draco might be of help in getting our heroes in the same room at the same time.
Thanks for posting!

Just looking to see if you'd updated, and I re-read this final chapter: I noticed that in successive sentences, Lucius talked about Severus having been gone for fourteen and then thirteen years. I remembered earlier he said he'd been Zelko for fifteen years, so I looked back to check. I notice that the prologue is dated May 2003, but the e-mails all date to 2012, even though the first one refers to the radio broadcast of two weeks previous. I know it's picky, but inconsistencies are distracting, particularly that first one, where I'd been thinking of Hermione as 23 or so.

Oops! I noticed my miscalculation earlier on but seem to have missed the wrong year in the prologue, I will correct this immideately. The discrepancy between thirteen and fourteen comes about because at first they waited for a sign from Severus, as his body was never been found (in this universe). The story is set in 2012. I don't think your mentioning this is picky, I am glad you told me. Thank you!

LOL Love that Lucius had a crush on Molly. That's one way to try to prove how you are. Nice to see his making inroads with his old friends and it seems as though Hermione is starting to take up residence in a small corner of his mind and if he's not careful it will become more than that.

I will make sure it becomes more than that, I promise. Thank you!

haha, Molly! How embarrassing is that!A small correction, please: having lived in the Mediterranean for such a long time, Severus will know better than to put red wine into the fridge It's served just below room temperature, so he'd leave it in the cellar until maybe an hour before the agreed time.
Response from Minerva (Author of Being Muggle-born)
Molly, yes ... I wanted lighthearted proof of Severus' identity, not some dark secret from their Death Eater past. You had me check back the chapter for the wine. I wrote about the right wine, without ever knowing whether to serve red or white with gnocchi ... Sorry about that, I had Severus putting it in the fridge simply because I prefer white wine.Thank you for your review!

It's nice to see Severus coming out of his shell, at last. Revealing himself to Lucius and Narcissa, is only one step on the road back.

I'm intriguied! (Hope I spelled that right!) What a great start. Can't wait for more!
Good heavens! How can I have missed so many chapters? All I can think of is that your penname deluded me into thinking that this was a story about Professor McGonagall's childhood. (I've read some good stories on that theme, mind you, but I'm more picky this time of the semester.Anyway, I love it! I love the way the--very respectful and collegial--exchanges with Hermione have opened Severus up to the idea of returning, even if he does not yet realize it. I love the slow turning towards England occasioned by overhearing that radio interview: the e-mail, the fact that he's taken her hint about a hiking trip (overlooking the fact that she seems to have picked up on his obsession over Halloween and even mentioned Harry as a parallel), and then revealed himself to Lucius & Narcissa--who will surely tell Draco, who will tell Hermione, if indeed she needs to be told.... Altogether, it's quite wonderful, and I certainly won't overlook it again! Thanks for all the updates.

Hermione hasn't picked up anything yet, I think, she is only wishing for better weather in her part of the world. Her mentioning Harry is just a coincidence. Thank you for your long review!
