Reviews for Being Muggle-born
Come now, he had to know she wouldn't leave well enough alone, lol. And I, for one, am glad she didn't.
Oh dear! Drunk and impulsive. *is excited*
What an original and intriguing start. If only this were finished ... :(. I'm impatient when reading good stuff.

It is finished and posted regularly, do not worry!

Good luck trying to get the lid back on that can of worms, Mr Snape.
That's see of him to try and ease her mind, but something tells me he's setting himself off down a slippery slope...
Really enjoying this so far!
My goodness,I wonder how such a confession will effect him? You know,I always like to think of him somewhere warm and relaxed after the war. Preparing gnocchi sounds like a suitably un-deadly pastime!
Lovely story, thanks. Looking forward to more.

Chestnut hair? Nooooooo! And the nose is hooked--an elegant, smooth curve--not aquiline. ;)

The hair is reversible ... But your review gives me an idea for a snippet some months after the end of the story. Thank you!

Lol! Just read this again and realised you probably haven't a clue what "wick" means! It means crap or terrible. *giggles*
Response from Minerva (Author of Being Muggle-born)
Thank you very much, the next chapter is already in queue. And I didn't know about wick ... but this could become a plot bunny (I'm thinking Ireland = no snakes = perfect retreat for Severus + visiting Hermione + a local using "wick" ....

There may not be a message from Hermione now, but I'm counting on there being one when the 10-day preiod is over. It's nice to see Severus taking that final step to take control of his life for the first time in his adult life. That Hermione's suggestion was an impetus was even better.

I tend to agree with you ... Thank you for your long review.

Wow! Thank you for this great story - I am really enjoying it. I very much agreed with arynwy's sentiment, so it's good to hear you already have it finished. =) Very excited to see how his true identity comes out... and I thought I should add that I am often skeptical of Malfoys (other than Draco) portrayed in a positive light but that particular recollection on Snape's part worked well for me and I found it touching.

Thank you for your long review. I am not firmly enough versed in canon but as far as I can remember Narcissa may not be a Death Eater even. Although one can be guilty by association. I cannot quite believe Lucius' transition from Saulus to Paulus but I guess Severus would not judge a person badly who wants redemption. And it works well for my story that the Malfoys are redeemed and good friends of Severus. In JKRs world, strictly canon, I do not think that the Malfoys would have contact with a poor working class Half-blood socially, and they would certainly not make him godfather of their only son. (Again, I like that move ...)

Zelko Princip - an excellent name! It is unusual enough so that Hermione can track it down, although she might discover that nobody by that name lives in Opicina? Of course she is going to travel to Opicina, because the email is in past tense, so she will wonder if Snapey is dead or alive.Princip is clearly Prince. I looked up Zelko and found this: Zeljko has its origins in the Croatian language. The meaning of the name is 'desiring peace'. A form of Zeljko is the name Zelko. How perfect for Severus to be 'desiring peace.'Thank you for updating!
Response from Minerva (Author of Being Muggle-born)
I have to admit that I didn't look up Zelko but this is wonderful, I couldn't have found a better name for him. Princip I did look up and it is Prince indeed. I only tried to think of a Slovenian or Croation name beginning with S or Sh and like Zelko (pronounce Shehlko) better than Zladko.Zelko Princip is living, paying taxes and getting a Muggle Newpaper deliverd in Opicina. And to Hermione Snape is dead, of course.Thank you for your long review

Another short chapter. *grin* I'm not sure what Zelko stands for, but Princip means "Prince". A small hint, maybe? ^_^

For someone so smart, I guess wine can make you maudling.
Response from Minerva (Author of Being Muggle-born)
I guess that is so. Good for us, for otherwise there would be no story ... My take on Severus' approach to drugs or alcohol is that he usually stays clear of both because of his father, out of habit as a spy and because of brushes with addiction in his youth. Therefore finishing off a bottle of wine could lead him astray easily.

I am intrigued by the start of this story. It looks like it will be very well written, and I am enjoying the details such as the information on the Perseides.

I hope she will want to know this man who claim to know Snape quite well...

She might want to know him for his expertise on plants first but we'll see (can't give too much away). Thank you!

It is nice to see that his heart has softened enough to care about her pain. I think the note raises more questions than it answers. I also think his pen name is curious. I wonder what he desires.

I think the first mail was a spur of a moment-decision. Princip means Prince, Zelko I choose because of the Sh-sound at the beginning but a reviewer told me it means "desiring peace" in Croatian which I find an amazing coincidence.

Oh, snap! I knew Severus wouldn't leave well enough alone. I love how this story is shaping up already :)And how good is that, Severus having his cottage as a retreat during the war and a refuge afterwards? What a great place to be invited for dinner! (Which I assume Hermione is going to find out, sooner or later.)
