Reviews for Transcendent Quality of Remembrance
Another really good chapter!!! I'm excited to see how Snape reacts to Hermione going to uni :). He's gooooin' be pissed! Anyway, I'm loving the story! thanks for updating!
Found your story last night as I am new to this website lol Delicious , sexy and beautiful and has given me goosebumps . Your prose is beautiful and flows lovely through the two different timelines.
Hoping you will post more soon. Loved it. Thanks.
Thank you! Each new chapter is continuing enjoyment. And I marvel that each sex scene feels new. The different nuances blossom! I know the confrontation of the possibility of Hermione's going to America may come at some point, but I trust that you will use it to give us even more of your subtle character development. I'm looking forward to whatever's coming.
Love, love, love this chapter. The "enmeshed" part, especially, and how Severus wouldn't want to admit he felt the same out loud. (Sorry for not being more constructive, but I'm also overcome with the perfection that is this fic. I live for your updates!)
Y'know, he can really be a hard-headed sunuvabitch sometimes...
She is afraid of the consequences of remembering *before* she has anything to remember. Fine..I got that. Not an unreasonable fear in her situation, to be honest. He makes her a potion, so she doesn't have to...fine. That was honestly the decent thing to do. I follow all that in a straight line.
BUT THEN SHE SAYS "I don't ever want to forget" and he assumes that means she still doesn't want to remember?
REALLY, Severus? REALLY???
I don't know how she could have made that any more plain to him....
I sweartogod I'mma bitchslap him...
I'm dreading the moment where she falls asleep and he's left alone again... And although they're having plenty of fun at the moment, at some point they're going to have to talk as well. *bites nails*
The longer Hermione waits to talk to Severus, the worse things are going to be. Of course, I firmly believe that if he were to show her the memories of their wedding night, that might alter her decision. I think if he wants to keep her with him, and not have her go to America, then he needs to show her. But, Hermione REALLY needs to grow a pair of balls and OPEN HER EFFIN MOUTH!!! It's really driving me nuts! LOVED the chapter!
Pretty, pretty chapter. Love it.

I am biting my nails when reading your story. You manage to distract me quite thoroughly with some scenes between them but there's that Damocles' sword of her studying abroud looming more and more. H, please tell him soon, you'll save yourselfes and the readers a lot of heartache.
Will Severus have the last say in the dancing matter, I wonder? Or will his little tempest drag him out there?
I'm intrigued by Severus noticing that Hermione is keeping something from him. And really afraid that he'll decide he can trust her, by writing his suspicions down to paranoia. His reaction when he learns about Salem will be ... disastrous.
Going away to school did not equate to leaving him.
To a man like Severus, it just might.
He pulled her against him again, trying to honour her confession with body language, if not with spoken words. In truth, he was dumbfounded and more than a little shaken.
This was not what he had bargained for.
Oooooh, a bond that will eventually overcome that thrice-damned potion?!?!
George turned to his twin with a tragic sounding sob. 'He … he doubts us, Fred.'
Fred gave his brother a bracing one-armed hug. 'He'll eat those words, George. Come along now.'
Apparently I need to smooch ALL the male Weasleys!
All of them watching him with Hermione, spying, waiting for some show of husbandly emotion? Of wedded bliss?
That was bloody well not going to happen.
But, but, but... there could be dancing in the attic!
~Attempts to click on the next chapter and fails miserably.~
Oh, no! Now I'm all caught up and I have to wait for the next chappie like everybody else!
~Goes off to pout until next Friday.~
The dreams she'd had of sex with him in the shower were her favourite ones, because she was the aggressor—well, one of the aggressors—and because in the dream, he permitted her to take the lead.
Taking the lead with a man like Severus Snape could definitely go to a girl's head!
'We could skip the shower and have a go at practicing wandless magic,' he said
Yeah, like that's gonna happen right now.
the one she had never seen before their stay here—the one with the peculiar bench seat built into the wall, which seemed so oddly familiar.
Or perhaps in her dreams? She really should pay more attention to those dreams!
You're better than handsome, Severus—you're arresting. I wouldn't change a thing.'
~Smooches you and Hermione for finding just the right thing to say to Severus.~
that created a recurrence of the cresting sensation behind his breastbone. He wondered vaguely if he were having some sort of heart seizure.
Yeah, you could call it that.
~Smirks knowingly.~
He bit the inside of his cheek against the urge to snicker. 'I am … unfamiliar,' he admitted, once the deadly impulse of laughter had passed him by.
Since I have nothing to lose, I guffawed out loud.
She opened the hidden space again, this time mending the tear less perfectly; when she was finished, there was the tiniest rip of the endpaper. Not enough for anyone to notice … anyone, that is, who was not a died-in-the-wool, perfectionist bibliophile.
Ooooooh, now I can't wait for Hermione to fix that book and find the parchment!
He owed her an apology, but there was one problem: Severus Snape never apologised.
But he will learn...
Her screech escalated to a blood-curdling scream as the icy water soaked her, but he was grimly satisfied to see the huffing jets of steam desist. Gritting his teeth, he pulled her tight against his body and bent his head to permit his own ears to be drenched.
Oh, my! I do believe I'd just put up with the steam, unless showering with Severus was part of the cold deluge bargain. If that were the case, I could become incredibly fond of cold showers!
'I do not … care to see you in close conversation with any man who is not me.'
Okay, not an apology, but close enough for me to call it one!
She knew instinctively that a man follows more attentively if there's a promise implied with ever sway of a jeans-clad bottom.
Swing those hips, girl! He is most definitely watching!
~Scurries onward.~
I love the very interesting way you incorporated the premise of the Marriage Law without actually using the Marriage Law plot itself. Fantastic start!
Hallo. great chapter !I love it , but both Hermione and Severus are pissed me off because of their stubbornness. She realy should thell him off her plans for Salem , and Severus reveal his memory of weding night. Qui por quo , and talk, talk, talk .But noo . Their stubbornnes is bayond logic.I can wait for another this lovely chapter.Best regards from Lora.

They are rather hard to predict and harder to manage, aren't they? I'm glad you're sticking it out with them, Lora. Thank you!

When Severus reaches their bedroom, I wonder if Hermione will decide to tell him about her plans to leave for America next month? On their wedding night she had asked him if there were any instances referenced in the literature 'of a degradation effect of the potion … over time?' For a moment I felt hopeless, but his answer gave me reason to hang onto a shred of optimism: 'There are old witches' tales about this, as about all such potions and spells. But being unverifiable, they have no bearing in the real world, I assure you.'I hate to think of them being separated, but perhaps going to Salem to study with Professor Muninn will be the only way for her to reach a breakthrough so that she can remember just how beautiful their wedding night was, and how much she wanted to be able to remember it.I'd like to think that at my age I'm a pretty strong, pretty tough, no-nonsense lady, but in truth I'm such a Romantic at heart that I will cling to any straw I can find to maintain hope until the last word of the last chapter is written. Thank you for this wonderful, engaging story. I love it!!! Beth

We are Romantics, my dear, and that's why we can't get enough of this pair, because it takes grand scale Romance to put them in one another's orbit! Thank you so much for your comprehensive, thoughtful reviews!

Oh these two and their inability to communicate!!!!!!! They can be so trying!! ^.~ But you've sure painted a wonderfully romantic "honeymoon" that I am enjoying reading. I know they'll come to their senses sometime, I just cringe at what misconceptions they have to get through first.

Neither one of them is willing to put themselves completely at risk, emotionally speaking, to the other partner. I can hardly blame them, but some openness and honesty would do them both a world of good. But then, what kind of story would that make?

I can't help but feel heartbroken over Hermione and Severus. I think if he showed her his memory of their wedding night, she would not go to America. But her holding off telling him is going to cause huge problems later on. They're starting to develop a real relationship, and they're both too stubborn for their own good.

I think your theory is a good one. The only issue with it is that Severus is convinced that he's doing the right thing by honoring her first wish, not to remember. And about the stubborn x 2? Bingo!
Response from draegon_fire (Reviewer)
I can understand that. But he only has himself to blame that things are still shaky between them. Just seems a bit unfair for him to punish her for what she did, since she has no memory of it, even though it was her fault. He's going to have to be the one to put himself out there for her.

The glimpses into the tail end of their wedding night are so very poignant. I love how much they want to be together -- and am dreading the day when she tells him about America.

Another fabulous chapter. When is she going to tell him she is leaving? I can understand her reservations and wanting to live in the moment, but I fear the longer she waits, the worse it will be. Or perhaps he will find out from someone else. It's just a bad idea to put it off.Its amazing how far they have come in such a short period of time since first stepping foot in this place. It is apparent that this is much deeper than a physical relationship whether they want to admit it or not.Dumbledore keeping everything under wraps is just like him, but still, I want to know what is going on, why they have to be there, and why they can't know anything.Meanwhile, back in January ... I was amused by her question of why he didn't find a nice Gryffindor. I'm glad he just played it off. She is softening him already, even the first night. And then her refusal to sleep, and his agreeing to stay up with her via Pepperup, and the whole situation, really, is so lovely and heartbreaking all at once.Bill gave him a meaningful grin. 'Fleur needs the rest now, with the baby and all. But Hermione didn't seem too tired to me.The way the Weasleys are encouraging Severus to be with his wife at every turn, you can see how they end up with so many kids. I loved it!So, now I really want to see the scene in the past, once Hermione finally succumbs to sleep. I don't really know how the next day goes. But you just keep prolonging it. Not that I am complaining, of course. :) And I want to know why it is so important for Hermione to go to University in the States. I mean, the need for education is intrinsic, but what exactly does she hope to gain? Her memory? Does she have to go now? Ugh! Your brand of storytelling is such exquisite torture!

I adore your thoughtful reviews. She really is stuffing her unpleasant tasks, not wanting to think about doing anything about them. Maybe it wouldn't make us so nervous for her if it were anyone but Severus, but with his hang ups and insecurities? Can keeping the secret really be a good idea?Lovely and heartbreaking all at once? That means that you're feeling the way I felt when I wrote it, and that makes me happier than I can tell you.Exquisite torture? ~self satisfied smirk~

Where did this week go?! It is about killing me to come back and review this chapter before reading the next one, but it is so deserving of comments, that I will somehow muddle through. :)
Would she want to talk about things ... About the secret she was harbouring from him behind guarded brown eyes? Which secret is this, lol?
When they were discovered by Ginny, I was very concerned that he was going to hop up and the moment would be over. I was quite relieved that he just wanted to keep things private.
I was pleased to see them sharing some intimacy beyond sex- holding hands, arms around one another- it is a good sign toward a bigger relationship. He steps away when they approach the others, and I have to wonder for whose benefit he does so.
Molly giving excuses so folks can have so playtime is endearing. And the conversation between Arthur and Severus was nice.
And the flashback ... how dreadful for both parties. I could carry on about it, but I really need to read the next chater. Like now.
THEY KEEP THAT UP THEY GONNA NEED PEPPER UP LOL GREAT CHAPTER THANKS.

Oh, this is so heartbreaking. He didn't even tell her to put her memory into a Pensieve for later. And she has deliberatley decided to not tell him that she is leaving in one month - and she is still going to school instead of staying with him!! I am ready to hope now that there is a serious emergency (instead of just another Dumbledore warning) so that she feels obligated to stay. But she still needs to cancel her chool app. Oh, Hermione, when are you going to wise up.....Thank you for the new chapter!!

He's convinced himself that the honorable thing to do is stick to their original agreement. That means he wouldn't put her memories in the Pensieve or let her view his. Here's June, hoping for a catastophe to bring them to their senses!Just as long as no owls explode or house-elves get hurt, of course.

If she leaves for school in the States, it WILL be a catastrophe - but not the kind that brings her to her senses!
