Reviews for Transcendent Quality of Remembrance
I can't believe so much has happened in so short a time. They were married on January 9, 1998. (Severus' birthday, BTW.) Then they arrived at Forest Haven on July 2nd, and now here it is hardly more than a week later and everything is messed up.....!
I was glad to see Severus become upset with Tima on Hermione's behalf, and I hope she will have a chance to rectify her mistake over Hermione's letters of recommendation.
But most of all I want to see what Severus thinks when he reads
The Story of Our Love, A Memoir.
(And I'd like to see Umbridge and Fudge brought down loooooooow.)
Great chapter!

*Sob*.
Poor, poor Hermione. And stupid, self-sacrificing Snape. (But he does manage to be so heart-achingly sweet while being a complete prick.)
Anyway, what I wanted to say: wonderful chapter. I especially agree with the skipping of the argument. Somehow I feel as if I know what happened, even though you haven't written it. Well done!
I'm (once more!) looking forward to another chapter. And to the end of their torment. Poor souls.
Well. Wasn't that a kick in the head? As someone who works in higher education, I can understand Severus's ire at Septima's intent to break confidentiality. I think it's a good sign that he was so incensed for her. I look forward to the memoir (and I'm guessing Severus reading it after he comes "home" and finds Hermione passed out asleep). :)
Hermione didn't make it after all, and she barely cared - I love that. And I love Severus even more for being indignant on her behalf and wanting to help her still. Excited for the memoir!
And I think with those words to Septima, Severus has condemned his own actions, but we shall see what he does from there. In some ways, it's a real pity, however, that Septima didn't break confidence back around Easter. It could have spared them both a lot of heartache, because I don't think Severus would have had the patience to wait until the level of betrayal felt so high as it does now before he forced the issue.
Thanks, as always, for sharing.
I think a group hug is in order ... *sniff*
The grand finale is (finally?) upon us, and I'm crossing my fingers that Hermione and Snape will pull through - though I suspect they will.
Looking forward to next chapter!
Damned potion!
I am enjoying this. I do wish Hermione could remember, though!

Ahh distress indeed! Can't wait for the next chapter, so they can hurdle the last obstacle together!
My, we come so far in less than 3,000 words. This chapter starts off on such an upbeat note, with Severus ponding his life under his favorite tree, and Hermione discovering the best news of her life. In theory, things are perfect, but we have two perspectives and they don't match at all.
The last line is deadly. I was just cringing to the point that I felt like I was in trouble rather than our unfortunate heroine. And that moment where she knows he is furious but feels that her news is so wonderful that it will out shine anything that is bothering him falls so flat at her feet. The whole conversation is so pooly executed that I just wanted to usher him out the door and have him reenter. The emotion was palpable in the extreme.
If he would step back a moment and look at it rationally, he would see a number of things. First, if he believes that package means she is going to that school, then he must know that this didn't come about in the last few weeks. And prior to staying in their current location, they lived as distant roommates. On top of the fact that she didn't remember a bit of their wedding night. Why would she have loved him? He just can't blame her for not feeling something that, without the wedding night memories, seems absurd. He can't have possibly thought that once she finished school that they were going to run off somewhere and live happily ever after.
She is at fault a bit for keeping it from him, but it isn't as if the opportunity to discuss it ever really presented itself. I wonder what her reaction is going to be? I'm not sure there is even a right way to respond to him until he calms down.
Once again, I can't wait to see what is to come.
He loves her, she remembers her love for him, and Arthur chooses today to place them all in mortal danger? And I've run out of chapters? Ye gods!
Ah, so that's what sparked the memories!
I'm so glad I had such a huge chunk of chapters saved up to read in one greedy go! What a way to spend a rainy Sunday afternoon :)
I love how you're bringing canon into this in completely your own way! Dolores and the centaur, Dolohov's curse... so clever!
And Snape, rescuing her! *happy sigh*
This is what I was fearing -but you've given me hope! If she falls in love with him then she will remember their wedding night? That's one old wives tale I can live with!
Yay! Now we just need Hermione to figure out that she loves him back and to forget about Salem.... any chances?
I'm fairly certain I've reviewed this chapter elsewhere - I've certainly read it before - but I couldn't read it again without leaving a review. This is the part of the story I've been dreading... well, I'm guessing the truly awful part will come in the next chapter, when he remembers but she forgets.
This story is just so lovely. Never have I known an author to be able to fill so many explicit scenes with such tenderness. I really, really hope you're planning a happy ending after all of this uncertainty..
Uh oh! Well, we can't say that we didn't know this moment was coming. Severus was never going to understand what looks to him like a betrayal, even if Hermione has rationalised everything to herself in a way that allowed her to keep procrastinating over broaching the subject with him. Good luck getting him to calm down for long enough to listen, little Know It All. You picked a stubborn and temperamental man to fall in love with. Here's hoping you can cope with reaping the whirlwind.
P.S. Sorry for the late reply. I was in the middle of a 200k+ fic when I received the update notice.
And off he goes in typical Severus fashion.... all mouth and no ears. I foresee a couple of chapters full of rough waters for these two. I'll get the dramamine....
Poor Hermione and Severus. What a horrible way to find out she applied to Salem. I hope he'll give her the chance to explain everything. I knew her decision not to say anything will come back to bite her. But, it's also obvious she hasn't given things a second thought since they started to get closer. I hope he'll allow her to show him the message she left for herself. She has a lot of work to do in order to make things right with Severus. Hopefully he'll let her.
Oh she has discovered the truth at last lol. What will HG do I wonder? Is SS about to get the biggest slap of his life or the biggest and longest snog?
chapter. Thanks.wonderful
He had to find out sooner or later, but it would have been better if he heard it from Hermione. We can only hope that he listens to reason , he is so hurt now that I doubt he will.
Hermione remembers but Salam is still hanging over their heads.
Obviously he hasn't cottoned on to how long it would take to process her application and therefore just how long ago she'd sent it. Hopefully he will settle down enough to listen to her explanation. :)
Ohhhhhhhhhh. I was afraid this is what would happen. My emotions are all over the place right now, and my heart is breaking for both of them. I want Hermione to start telling him all of her memories of their passionate love making, and how she had hidden the clue that had let her know her "dreams" were true memories.
I'm all in favor of the group hug! And thank you for this most beautifully written story. It's a highlight for each Friday.
