Reviews for Transcendent Quality of Remembrance
Nice chapter, brave Gryffindor but Severus is making an effort all ready. Good of her to get tin bed with him. Now ... he was sleeping though that? Doubtful!
Response from Subversa (Author of Transcendent Quality of Remembrance)
I agree that he's making an effort, but I wonder if she can see that about him at this point? You're in the ruling majority who believe that he's wide awake when she's busy in the bed. Thank you for commenting!

I am a little confused about the fact that Hermione can t remember properly all the fact .And the dreams she have is also worrisome .Like obliviation , but strange ones.Great chapter. I can wait for Severus reaction because it is clear that he is awake all the time.Best regards from Lora.

Lora, you are in the majority, who believe that Snape was not asleep in that bed beside Hermione. Thank you for your comment - I think a lot of your questions will be answered in the next chapter. Of course, then you'll have more questions.

...and what was there to tell, really, when she didn't remember properly? This is really worrisome. What has she forgotten? The circumstances of her marriage seem clear, and she seems to have memories of their consummation, so it can't be a mercy obliviation. I'm also puzzled by these dreams and her arousal. It's odd that she isn't more suspicious of them--I'd expect her to worry about a potion or a spell causing them. But what I actually suspect is that her body remembers experiences that have been erased from her mind, and is reacting accordingly. Would Subversa write a Snape that Dark? A very intriguing chapter, as always. (P.S. I don't believe he was really asleep. And if I'm right, he's going to be really annoyed.)

Love that term, "mercy obliviation". It's a good point, wondering why she doesn't suspect him of making her feel the arousal. I believe further details of their lives as lived in the previous six months may answer that question. But it's your last comment that made me laugh out loud. It's why I always fell for hard for Snape when you wrote him: You and I see him, I think, in a similar light.Thank you for your comments. It is lovely to hear from you, as always.

Rocky is putting it mildly. Good grief could it get any worse? Well, I guess the answer to that is yes. She will have to go upstairs eventually and I am sure he is not going to let slide what had taken place. From being outside with Lupin, to dinner and the sitting room. Yikes, wouldn't want to be in her shoes right now. So, their first and only time was to consummate the marriage. I guess it was not very good for either of them. That is such a shame in itself. Looking forward to more, more, more.

It's true; if you put yourself in Snape's shoes, you have to be grinding your teeth to nubs before that first night is over from trying to appear to be married. Thank you for commenting!

His eyes narrowed. 'I must insist that you honour our agreement.' And she just walked out... AND then right after that Severus saw her sitting on the rock with Lupin who was patting her on the back and whispering in her ear. I guess Severus did feel tight-lipped fury. I don't think this is the last we've heard of this incident... ...but at dinner that night Severus had held his temper with Ron's behavior, and even gave his pudding to his bride without so much as a snarky look. He had noticed that she'd not eaten her meal, but did seem to enjoy the gooseberry fool.I felt sorry for both of them later on in the sitting room. Hermione is clearly having thoughts of dread about having to sleep with her husband. But she does seem to feel some sort of odd attraction for him at the same time. His scent is emotion-roiling and causes her to have ungovernable thoughts when she is in his company. Perhaps the consummation of their marriage had not been completely unpleasant. Very nicely done! I'm looking forward to the next chapter.Beth

Ah, Beth, you read with your scientific, analytical mind open full throttle, and you get more out of stories than most readers do. You've noted some important points. I think things will begin to come clearer in the next few chapters.

Well, well, well, anybody got a knife handy? This tension is pretty thick!!! Will be very interesting to see how they progress, and whether or not she'll be able to make the charade work before she obviously comes to her senses and ravishes the man for all he's worth!!! ^.~ LOL (and in answer to last weeks review OF COURSE I'm still reading fanfic. ESPECIALLY when it's one of yours!!)

*grins* They do know how to make each other spetacularly uncomfortable, don't they? We fangirls think everybody wants to jump Snape's bones, but I always try to imagine how an 18 yr old would *really* feel if she was put in a position where it was marry her least favorite teacher or, in this case, lose the life she'd planned since she was 11 ... what a grim choice to have to make, really. And how does HE feel about it? So much to consider!

Woah... you did an excellent job of conveying the tense detente between them, and Severus' unhappiness when he sees Lupin with Hermione. May I hope that Lupin - with his werewolf senses - can tell that Snapey gets more tense when Lupin is near Hermione? How did their wedding night consummation go - good, bad, or Obliviated? Is Hermione one of several Muggleborns who married for the same reason? And when is the next chapter being posted??THANK YOU for updating! You've written a captivating story, as you can tell by my numerous questions.
Response from Subversa (Author of Transcendent Quality of Remembrance)
Now Miss June, why do you want Lupin to know that Snape gets more tense when he's around? So he'll stop doing it to make Snape happy, or so he'll do it more to drive Snape up the wall?? "good, bad, or Obliviated?" made me chortle aloud. I imagine that other Muggle-borns might have made the same move if they'd had enough time to arrange things for themselves, but keep in mind that the Ministry made this new rule while most of the students were away on Christmas break. Perhaps, if the rule had stayed in force, more of the students who had been there for a while and wanted to finish their education would have married to do so. Next chapter is next week!
Response from June W (Reviewer)
Attn, Lupin: A happy Snape is a better spy and a better husband to Hermione. Quit yanking his chain, you twit!

If Hermione has to marry Severus in order to study at HogwartsANDHermione is graduated from HogwartsTHENWhy is Hermione still married to Severus?
Response from Subversa (Author of Transcendent Quality of Remembrance)
Great question, Mikimoto! And a fair one, at that. For one thing, in canon, I don't think the word "divorce" appears in the Potterverse books, but I also don't think strong-minded Hermione would remain in a marriage if she wanted out. To be perfectly honest, they've scarcely had time to consider what to do once the war was settled and done. You'll learn more about the timeline as the story goes on. Thank you for reading and commenting!

Yeah, it's kind of hard to imagine not jumping at the chance to go to bed with Snape, right? But Hermione does not see him the way we fangirls do. Thank you for commenting!

Oh dear, this is an awkward situation. I can't quite ascertain Hermione's feelings toward Snape. She is edgy and wrong-footed, but is she scared of him, does she have confusing feelings for him, or is he just socially awkward and she doesn't know how to carry the relationship? Regardless, she is not doing a good job of making others think they have a real marriage. I suspect there will be hell to pay for that once she finally makes it to bed.Hermione certainly would have been happier with Lupin, but it was not to be. Just what decision has she not yet discaussed with her husband?Okay, I'll just be over here waiting for more. No, I didn't inadvertently leave out the word "patiently." I like you too much to lie to you. :)
Response from Subversa (Author of Transcendent Quality of Remembrance)
Your questions about Hermione's feelings are fair ones - and well thought out, to boot. I'm not sure she knows how she feels any better than you do, to be honest. And no, she's not doing a good job of making the others think they're a normal married couple. Do you think she would have been happier with Lupin? Hmmm. I guess it's hard for such a Snape-fancier as I to imagine that could be true!~passes you a cushion and a cup of tea to help you while away the time~
Response from HBAR (Reviewer)
Good point about Snape vs Lupin. Eventually Snape will be the better choice. I was just thinking in the current moment, she would have been more comfortable around Lupin, and he would have tried harder to make her happy. Wouldn't be as fun for us readers, though. ;)

I will add my happy dance to all the others. It is a conga line by now. This is my new have a martini and a read story. I love it so far. I enjoy that you will be experimenting with the "fairly unusual". Things are so much more interesting when they are a bit unusual. I am glad you are back with something new.

The image of a conga line made me laugh out loud. And SubHub, my Slytherin husband, says it's only fitting for you to have a martini while you read, since I had no many while I wrote. Thank you so much for taking a chance on my new story!

So she left herself a clue. How clever. :)
Oh god so many feels from this story! So so good totally one of my favs now!
I love this story so much, one of my favourite SSHG tales ever!
Beautiful tale! Wonderfully written, and I love the way everything is tied up nicely at the end :)
I have always loved your work and this one was another magnificent example of you skill as a storyteller. Thank you. I look forward to more of your brilliance.
I'm glad Hermione is still going to fight for Severus. I have the feeling that things are going to get more complicated if they reconsider her application, since she's decided not to go anyway. I hope they can work things out soon.
I must admit that I figured Vector didn't send in the teacher recommendation because she knew Severus would be heartbroken about Hermione leaving. Now Severus only wants Hermione to be happy, so he is mad at Vector for not doing it. I'm glad that her actions (or lack thereof) were simply an oversight on her part. I'm also glad that Severus wants Hermione to be accepted into Salem. I know that sounds odd, but he wants it because he is under the mistaken impression that she wants to get away from him. And all this time she thought he wanted to get away from her. Such a lack of communication - and see how this misunderstanding is tearing them appart? It makes my heart ache. He loves her so much he is willing to let her go. She loves him so much she is willing to give up the opportunity and stay. Now they mearly need to learn to both talk clearly and LISTEN to each other. Not an easy feat when you are as stubborn as those two!
Such a wonderful story. I will be sorry to see it end.
Trying to" fix " things Severus may well shoot himself in the foot, hopefully Hermione's memoir will make him see sense.
oh dear, he thinks he's doing the right thing... :0
