Reviews for Anima Mea
This chapter was fantastic! You're spiking this story with so much thought, I'm totally impressed. Icelandic/Norse is just the language for Fiendfyre! A good explanation why Severus found a house at all and then one that's so much to his liking, too. Loved the aurors' bickering that made them lose Flitwick and Dr Granger. Thanks for another great read! Now please hurry up to keep you promise about not killing people we love.

I'm so chuffed that you enjoyed the chapter,

- it is one of my favourites, I must admit! I am trying to balance humour with drama throughout if possible because I think that it (oddly) adds to the tension. More coming very soon I hope - best wishes, Pxx

OMG--what a wonderful, stressful chapter! Just when I was also feeling veeerrry sorry for the poor little Manticore, it lashed out... poor Severus, bravo Hermione--but now, she will take the potion to Sabazios?! Oh, hell no! *biting nails in worry* xxx
Response from Proulxes (Author of Anima Mea)
Hi nag - thanks for your comments! I was playing with the idea of the Manticore as a poor thing - but then the medieval records about these creatures tell us that they were not to be trusted and were quite vicious, soooo...! Hope the nails make it! Pxx

You were kind enough to label this chapter "in which we *seem* to reach an ending" so I trusted you to make it right in the next chapter, if not in this one. ;) The position in which you placed Marcella, Conviva, and Resititus sounds familiar... Dare I hope that they escape? Or will we find them still huddled like that centuries later? I was wondering when you were going to address Snape's home--I remembered Sabazios' unnatural interest in it.Very much looking forward to reading your resolution, although I'll be sorry to leave this world. Definitely among my favorite HP-verse stories. :)Thanks for posting--hm88

Response from Proulxes (Author of Anima Mea)
Oooooh, there's lots! We're up to 25 chapters and going strong. More archaeology to come. And plate tectonics. And magical medicine. And a Manticore...! Lovely to hear from you. Pxx

Love the sweet remembrances of the different time & events at Hogwarts mixed in with their pursuit of the Manticore--love the details, and tension between them while they prepare themselves--but Severus turns and smiles at her before proceeding onward--so there's hope some goodness may come from pursuing the dangerous Manticore for both of them--lovely work!
Response from Proulxes (Author of Anima Mea)
Okay! That's done it! Taking into account three duplicate reviews, this is the 250th review of this story! THANK YOU!! He can't really help himself - but he does not trust their connection yet.... I hope you like the next one!! Pxx

Oooh, I was sighing with such satisfaction from their love-making scene--and then started feeling wobbly as Severus put his walls up again surmising that the only reason Hermione responded to him was because of the Horcrux's emanating power... So sad, so 'Severus' *sighing* poor Hermione, to wake up to that reception after what they've shared... Now this Manticore has me worried--nasty, necessary creature! Great chapter!

Hello nag! Thanks for your review. I couldn't have them fall into each other just like that, could I, without Severus misinterpreting the situation...? The Manticore is coming.... Thank you so much for your review! Pxx

Poor Pertus, to die at the actions of that narcomaniac/drug addict Fiducius--gah! Loved how they eased into comforting each other with a realxing yet invigorating hot, steamy bath *waggling eyebrows* -- enjoyed every second of it!!!
Response from Proulxes (Author of Anima Mea)
I must say that I do have favourite chapters, and this one is one of 'em! More to come *cough* next time.... *waggles eyebrows back at you*! Pxx

Nothing gets by Fiducius does it? Thought for a naive second he was too interested in politics and pontificating & power to notice further Sev's delectable 'niece', but he was watching her movements & wherabouts all the time, wasn't he? *shudders* Glad Severus' radar was as keen as ever! Oh, the early trembles of the earth starting--and the race is on! Great chapter!!!
Response from Proulxes (Author of Anima Mea)
I wanted him to be a clever villain - he might also remind you of someone, perhaps...? The early tremors were designed to be a counterpoint to the threat from Fiducius, and also to warn us about the peril in this otherwise fascinating and entertaining world. Pxx
Response from nagandsev (Reviewer)
Of course Fiducius reminds me of Lucius--a clever villain indeed! What I 'love' about Fiducius' characterisation, as with canon Lulu, is that he is ostentatiously ambitious, self-centred, sinister delusions of grandeur that he will stop at nothing to make concrete--also love the elements of dark magic/narcomania he is oozing with... of course, he is one dangerous s.o.b. (knowing his level of vileness/in deep muck with Salazios, etc.--poor Hermione & Severus!)Just simply. wonderful. fantastic.work!xx

Oooh, what a whirlwind of events going on--the kiss! Yes, the kiss *wonderful* just love the depiction--could feel them losing themselves into each other and nothing else existing around them yes! Beautiful! Ah, the House of Vettii--brilliant! The painting of Priapus--glad it irked Sev - hehe! The brothers, Marcella, and the dubious sweating/glistening Fiducius--yes! Poor Harry, the poignant ending finding her unconscious body... just a brilliant and rich story! Yum!

Thank you for your review - I am so pleased that you enjoyed the kiss, nag! This story is a slow burn, and its rating goes up further later on - keep reading! I hope you enjoy the next few chapters.... Pxx

Oooh, yes, great cliffie--just when Harry was, um, relaxing into his Italian environment --again, love the canon & historical details, everything from ingredients to clothing; the development of the narrative is so rich & flowing--lovely, lovely work!xx

Keep forgetting to čet you know how much I love the back stories with Septima/Arithmancy, Harry & the flirtateous Gabrielle, the portrait and, of course, Hermione and Severus working together--looking forward to the Vettii's gathering!xx
Response from Proulxes (Author of Anima Mea)
Thanks, nag! I am trying to keep the minor characters in my sights as much as the main ones. I based Vector on one of my tutors at university, and I have my own thoughts about Gabrielle and their ever hopeful Italian guide! Best wishes, Pxx

Oooo, got the chills! So, Severus also is fully aware of the date... but I hate it that he was so unprepared *understandably so* for Sabizios at their first meeting--I love Hermione's spitfire, feisty energy--just what Severus needs (in so many ways)--great chapter of further layered on revelations *yum!*
Response from Proulxes (Author of Anima Mea)
Hello, nag! You're on a mission tonight! Glad you enjoyed the chapter - and that you thought Hermione's reaction was laudable. I am deeply flattered that you are enjoying the story. It has been so much fun to write. Best wishes, Pxx

The Aedile--now there's a Slytherin morphing right before our eyes--invigorates and creeps me out all at the same time--wonderful!!! Love his uncanny observations and how nothing gets by him--especially Severus' *niece* and observing & noting her as a 'distraction' - grrrhhh! - the tension is picking up speed! 'Our master...' *heavy sigh* Great chapter!xxx

The intertwining of the Horcrux--brilliant! You're just so brilliant, and this story so brilliant--I just can't squee & gush enough about it--so happy to have discovered this gem of gems!!! And yes, if anyone knows the meaning of the word 'endure' it's our S T Snape & H Granger!

Gripping as usual. And the Indiana Jones line fit so well, it didn't even occur to me that that was the borrowed bit until I read another's review! Did you use any other sources to write about Pompeiian architecture and Roman culture in general, or do you have a background in this area?

Love Harry and Ron's meeting, and back in Pompeii, the detailed description and historical facts intertwined and incorporated--Oooh, 'The mosaic pattern on it was that of a giant black skeleton, its mouth open and gaping. In one clawed hand, it held a jar, and in the other, a stick.' Oh, poor Severus, 'He looked liked he had been badly beaten up'--he just can't get a bloody break from abuse:-( Great chapter introducing a foreboding *darkness* to come in many ways

Thank you, ma'am! (*Bows low*) Yup, this is the first of many occasions in this tale when poor Severus is beaten up. His physical condition is very important for the final mystery.... ;) Pxx

Mmmn... Love all of the historical description as Hermione goes around to prove to Snape that she can get around on her on--love it and his observations of her as he stealthily observes and protects her along with each one's thoughts about the past being revealed. Soooo, Ms Granger has noticed he's got a lean but firmly muscled body under his tunic? *waggling eyebrows* Yup, I can *see* it!xx
Response from Proulxes (Author of Anima Mea)
I'm so glad you liked the chapter, nag! It was a hoot to write, I'll admit. I loved the idea of her stomping through the city, followed by her protective, invisible shadow. He's in shock and his reaction is, of course, to observe and review. She's also surprised and upset, and her reaction is to go Gryffindor. Thank you for your review! Pxx

OMG– I hope the crack of Apparition Severus thought he heard before he passed out was Hermione's return. Our Severus needs a bit of help right now. I like the way you have written about the changes in the portrait at Hogwarts in the present and the action changes in Pompeii in the past. It's fascinating to see the questions that run through the minds of the people gathered in Filius' office as they witness what is happening to Hermione and Severus. Thank goodness Sabazios had only a limited number of Inferi at his command. I worried that Severus would be worn down by them before they were all reduced to cinders. And still the god is able to overpower Severus... If Sabazios heard the same sound Severus heard, perhaps he will be distracted long enough for Hermione to rescue Severus and leave the god to meet a sticky end in the fires flows of Vesuvius.I can't wait for the next chapter to post!!!Beth
Response from Proulxes (Author of Anima Mea)
Hi Beth - great to hear from you again. Yes, I'm trying to balance the action in Pompeii with the increased tension at Hogwarts. They are VERY close to working out what they need to do to help Hermione and Severus... if Severus can stay alive for long enough to be saved, that is. The next chapter is in the queue and I hope will be posted next weekend (- if the wonderful nagandsev has time, that is). I am writing the final chapters right now as I read your review. You have been with me since the start. Not long to go now.... Pxx
