Reviews for Journey to Redemption
Oooh, is this going to be a HP version of "My Name Is Earl?" I'm very fond of that show. And your mah-vellous new word: "out-Slytherinned." Yummy!--Spiderwort
Response from Mars1 (Author of Journey to Redemption)
lol.. Yay! I'm an innovator and I didn't know it! Feel free to borrow the new word.
wow, neelix, i loved this chapter. all of the characters are incredibly in character. well done!
Response from Mars1 (Author of Journey to Redemption)
Hi *waves*... thanks! Glad you enjoyed it, it was fun to write!
I'm so glad that Harry and Hermione are being so good to him. :) I think they would truly in canon if he'd lived. :)
Response from Mars1 (Author of Journey to Redemption)
I like to think that too! Thank you so much for reviewing!
Thank goodness Walburga is gone! :)
Response from Mars1 (Author of Journey to Redemption)
I know! Finally!! But not forgotten...
Him picking Harry first makes sense. And that was a great lead-in for Hermione. Very neat the way you got rid of the painting. *Snort* Phineas is an interesting sort. I am glad he got a bit of spotlight here. =o)
Response from Mars1 (Author of Journey to Redemption)
Yes! lol... I always loved the idea of Phineas and Hermione having it out with each other!
I'm still smitten with the comparison of sleep to golden dust - beautiful imaginary!
Response from Mars1 (Author of Journey to Redemption)
Thank you, lovely. I enjoyed writing this.
Really interesting, but again Severus seems far too nice and friendly. I like my Severus a bit more difficult I suppose.
Response from Mars1 (Author of Journey to Redemption)
He's trying to redeem himself, so being the snarky Severus we all love just wouldn't work! Apologies!
Response from kittyperry (Reviewer)
No worries - I do understand that it makes sense in line with your story - I'm just missing his snark :)
Interesting, though somehow far too unlike Severus in my mind. It just seems too goody, goody, if you see what I mean.
Response from Mars1 (Author of Journey to Redemption)
Thanks for reviewing.
It's so much fun to see how all of our ideas actually work out when they make it to the story! I feel like I got some great lead-ins for my chapter, too.
Response from Mars1 (Author of Journey to Redemption)
I'm so pleased! Can't wait to read the next bit too... it's getting exciting!
I think this was a great beginning. It really establishes what's going to happen and why.
Response from Mars1 (Author of Journey to Redemption)
Thanks, Rose!
Very nice. He's kind of doing the "Equalizer" bit.
Response from Mars1 (Author of Journey to Redemption)
lol... that always makes me think of that joke. Why does Edward Woodward have so many D's in his name?because EWAR WOOWAR would sound really silly.....sorry... lol
Hey Neelix! This a great second chapter for this very touching story! I'm so glad that not only did Harry let Severus help, but he succeeded too! Very cool. Can't wait to see what happens next! Much Love ~ Brena
Response from Mars1 (Author of Journey to Redemption)
Thanks Brena *waves* Glad you enjoyed it!
It's nice to Severus as a mellow fellow. He's nowhere near as critical as before and willing to accept assistance. Will be interesting to see if anything develops with Hermione.
Response from Mars1 (Author of Journey to Redemption)
I hope it does, I'm a sucker for fluffy romance!
Mmmm, the thought of Snape revelling beneath the covers... Oh, honey, I loved this! Love love your Snape, mellowed a bit after the war and your Hermione shines. No wonder Sev can never help himelf! The portrait was a perfect way to bring them both together, loved what you did with it. I'm imagining it, you know, right above Gilderoy Lockhearts bed. Oh, that could be some interesting conversation!!!
Response from Mars1 (Author of Journey to Redemption)
Can you imagine it? lol.. thanks for the kind words. Hugs xxx
That was lovely. Severus and Hermione make a great team. I hope to see them working together more in this story.
Response from Mars1 (Author of Journey to Redemption)
Thanks, glad you liked it x
Lovely update, but I have to ask: While old Mrs. Black most certainly belongs to the Janus Thickey ward, what have those poor people done to deserve her? :-))I am very much looking forward to read more!
Response from Mars1 (Author of Journey to Redemption)
I sort of figured the other patients wouldn't notice her! lmao!
Sirius' mad mummy inflicted on the Janus Thickey ward... St. Mungo's will never be the same!Well, it's good that Severus' first attempts at making amends were well-received. Good on Harry and Hermione, giving their old Professor the benefit of the doubt. Hm... if Severus is making amends to those he treated unfairly, surely Neville Longbottom should be getting a visit?
Response from Mars1 (Author of Journey to Redemption)
aha... lol... You'll have to wait and see!
Interesting beginning, I'm curious to how Severus goes about making amends.
Response from Mars1 (Author of Journey to Redemption)
Thank you. :)
A charming and funny beginning to Snape's carreer as a philanthropist. Cute story so far.
Response from Mars1 (Author of Journey to Redemption)
Thanks
Response from Mars1 (Author of Journey to Redemption)
. Charming and Funny? I'll take that!
This was a great start to the story, Luvsev. It certainly makes you wonder about making amends in your own life, too.
Response from Mars1 (Author of Journey to Redemption)
Thanks,
Response from Mars1 (Author of Journey to Redemption)
! Some of us, as much as we may wish, can never make amends with those we feel we wronged, which is quite sad. I think Sev is going about it the right way by trying to make things better while he still can.
Severus-one, old hag portrait-zero.I think he might find a bit of peace himself with his help of others.
Response from Mars1 (Author of Journey to Redemption)
Another reviewer said that she felt Severus owes them nothing, but I think his conscience still needs salving in some way. Thanks for reading!
Response from debjunk (Reviewer)
You know, that flitted through my mind, but he was really nasty to them, for no real reason. Despite all that he should be thanked for, there were things he did that could have been different, and this is a way to make up for that.
LOL so Walburga Black is going to drive the patients of St. Mungo's even battier and Phineas Nigellus Black gets to spy on the Minister of Magic. I'm shocked that Kingsley agreed to his. Unless, he's going to be messenger for the minster to the headmaster... oh, he'd love that!
Response from Mars1 (Author of Journey to Redemption)
Severus should have insisted on that as a proviso! Wish I'd thought of that! lol
It is about time someone got rid of that cranky old hag. I am glad that Harry and Hermione accepted his change of attitude and it didn't get all angsty. Looking forward to more!
Response from Mars1 (Author of Journey to Redemption)
Thanks for reviewing, I'm glad you're enjoying it x
At least it was not a romantic encounter, I'm not a Hermione fan and never read SS/HG. It's very well written, but I disagree with you, it's the wizarding world that owes Severus, he doesn't owe them. He put his life in jeopardy for them every time he was summoned, and more often than not, probably had a few 'Crucios' cast on him by the 'Tedious One' whenever he was summoned. But no one trusted him and no one respected him for what he was doing during those years He saved Harry's life a number of times. Just think of what could have happened to the student body when the carrows were at Hogwarts had he not been there as headmaster to manage surreptitious ways to protect and shield the students. He may have done a lot of things for Dumbledore unwillingly, but he did them because he knew they had to be done. He protected the students because he did care and his conscience would never let him do otherwise. He deserved survival, respect, and a happy ending; Rowling didn't give him any of those.
Response from Mars1 (Author of Journey to Redemption)
I totally agree with you
Response from Mars1 (Author of Journey to Redemption)
; Severus owes them nothing. Unfortunately, that's not what this story is about!
Nice continuation from Chapter 1. I like it.
Response from Mars1 (Author of Journey to Redemption)
Thanks Jessa x
