It began with a letter, and a secret. Was it madness to trust? Was it a secret salvation? Or was it all just lying on a ring, in the end...? (***HBP SPOILERS***)

I have to apologize to everyone, period. Real life swallowed me whole, as I have been struggling to make a living writing original fiction over the last 8 years. It has not been easy, & has been complicated by health issues. I hope people can forgive my long silences. Trying to make enough money to live on from writing is a lot harder--waaaay harder--than it looks. (At least I didn't leave any posted fanfics unfinished.)
Anyhoo...
These stories are works of parody (& thus are allowable under US law), and are not written for profit. Just for fun. I'm not making any money off of any fanfics, nor will I ever. I'm just playing around in other writers' universes.
...I am, however, making something of a living off my own stories. (If anyone wants to play around in my universes, you may visit my website, www.jeanjohnson.net, and look up my policy on Fanfics & Fanarts. It's reasonable enough and fairly easy to follow, too...)

Reviews for In Annulo
You are good at amalgamating charms ;) Oh, and how 'bout a little memory charm for me....sweaty werewolf sex is not my style. I might be up for some more dicto-quill fun, though---now, where the heck did I put my pen?
Response from ladyofthemasque (Author of In Annulo)
*quickly hides own pens* ~Lotm
I, myself, have always been fond of dicto-quill sex ... *sigh*
Response from ladyofthemasque (Author of In Annulo)
*double-checks personal quill-pen collection...ewwwww...whimpers* ~Lotm
Response from notsosaintly (Reviewer)
I solemnly swear to never touch Lotm's personal quill-pen collection. Draco lent me his *ahem* pen the other night. What a nice boy.
Excellent! Yes, you would think that someone would have thought of doing that to the school by now. Enchanted paper airplanes and faux Floo spells; I liked it. You know, no one would ever expect Hermione to do something underhanded. Not even Moody.
I love this story ... this morning I woke up (unable to finish chapter 2 last night regretably), and the first thing on my mind was reading this story. Coffee and Lotm ... *scratches kitty behind the ears*
Oh, and the cats, and litter boxes ... and making Kreacher clean them in the last chapter? The nuances that you always add to every chapter are wonderful. I could smell those darn litter boxes, literally.
Response from ladyofthemasque (Author of In Annulo)
If you can smell it, you have to do something about it, you realise.Your kitty overlords demand that you cleanse their waste receptacle, pronot! *purrrrrrrs at the scritchings* ~Lotm
Response from ladyofthemasque (Author of In Annulo)
Er, that was 'cleanse their waste receptacle, PRONTO...'*still purrrrrrring from the scritchings* ~Lotm
Response from notsosaintly (Reviewer)
See, but I have two little kcreatures whom I am training to do all the cleaning for me. Hehehehe.
Whew! The Creeveys really had me worried for a second. Double bands of gold...both very useful...Your imagination continually astounds me. *wraps coils lovingly about the authoress* I am going right on to the next chapter. This story definitely has the potential to keep me up all night.
Response from ladyofthemasque (Author of In Annulo)
*rubs hands together fiendishly, then lovingly pets NSS' coils...* Yessss...trusssst in meeeee...jusssst in meeeee...closssse your eyesssss, and trusssst in meeee...Lmao,~Lotm

Yessss...mmmmm...yessssssssssssssss
I'm not finished with this chapter yet but . . . Fawke's son, hmm? Born out of the ashes of a broken vow?
Response from ladyofthemasque (Author of In Annulo)
More like Fawke's son, identity slain and torched by the fulfilling of a completed vow... ~Lotm
Once again I must say how much I love this story. I can't wait to see more, and hope you update soon.
Great Story. I can't wait to see what happens next
I am loving this fic!More soon please :)
You can't end it there!! Are you mad woman??? Jesus H. Christ!!! As usual you have completely enthraled me in your tale. This is utter brilliance, and to be honest, I was wondering about the split personality too. I do hope you update soon, or... or ...or... dammit. Well, I'll think of something! *grin* Great job! And get typing!GG
Response from ladyofthemasque (Author of In Annulo)
Meheheheheh...mweheheheheh... MUWAHAHAHAHAHA!!*ahem* Seriously, I'm working on chapter 35. As soon as it's done, I'll submit to RS.org...and I *might* post immediately to PP, too, rather than waiting until it's up at RS.org, first. But I'll have to see. I've a long way to go before 35 is complete...~Lotm
Perfect. A friend said she had a hard time with this chapter. I, on the other hand, loved it and Snape. He's great here in all his Snape glory. I am inclined to think that his words were lies (those of love), but I want to know what the hell the ring says... true or false. Her confused tears could be taken either way... muahahaha... Oh, and I loved the trickery with his middle name. Clever, that. Can't way for more, my dear. **winks**
Response from ladyofthemasque (Author of In Annulo)
Well, I'm a cruel evil authoress...sorry, that should've been I'm a Cruel Evil Authoress™...and you STILL won't know by chapter 34, which is the chapter I finally finished writing, last night. Plenty of chapters left to go! (I'm nearing 'the end', but I don't know how long it'll take to let the story play out to its conclusion. Of course, I don't even really have a conclusion, as of yet. Well, not a concrete this-is-how-it-ends one, like I did with FSS...)~Lotm
haha... I like the way you ended the chapter. It gives us all sorts of ideas as to what's gonna happen next. I enjoyed the bit with Draco and Hermione... I loved when Snape showed up. That was intense. As far as the anal play, thanks for the warning. I just dropped down when I was certain the lemons were over. Sometimes I don't mind, but other times... I do get squicked. Odd, isn't? Great chapter though. Off to review next.
Response from ladyofthemasque (Author of In Annulo)
You don't like reading anal play? Hm...go fig! Well, it was rather mild, compared to some fanfics. And Snape showing up was intense, wasn't it? I liked this chapter, for the transition from one end to the other--confessions of love, all the way through to attempted revelation of identity...~Lotmsouthern_witch_69's response: Sometimes, no, I don't like it. My mind mucks with me. I'll never forget the story of "Fast Alison" that circulated at school during our senior year. Supposedly she and a guy had anal sex, and she... well, you can imagine. I guess they forgot to use some "Cleansing Charms" first. hahaha... That girl was disgusting, and we all thought she was quite a slut (different guy each weekend, etc.). When I read certain things like that, I think of her and associate Hermione with her. It sort of taints Hermione for me. Odd, huh? My mind does some serious associating. Hahaha! So normally, I associate that with stuff I read. I read one story once that really, really bugged me, so when I see that I try not to read... just in case.
Response from ladyofthemasque (Author of In Annulo)
Well, that's understandable... ~Lotm
I love happy endings. Even to the mouthwash-flavored kiss. *wink*

Wicked! And I truly, madly, deeply loved every word of it! :)
Amazing story!!!!! I can’t believe i never came across this one before. I loved the build-up, word choice, your characterization of Severus/Russell and Hermione and their relationship, and your incredibly well thought-out out plotline. Special props for writing the triall and the courtroom dialogue so well. Thank you so much for all the time and effort you put into writing this story. I’ll be sure to highly recommend it!
Nom de nom! So talented, is he, and you..must read on...Bravo.
I love this story. I have read it for the third time and the pleasure is always the same. I have a question. How Severus could go to Grimmauld without been told the adress by Mrs Figg? And did Albus lift the Fides Oath before passing? I guess so but it isn't said. I wonder if you write original stories and I hope so because you are talented.
I recently rewatched movies 1–6 and felt like I preferred to reread this fabulous tale as opposed to watching the last two. Cheers!
To quote Jane: “Ohhh, yesss… Oh god, oh god, yessss…” - we need a new chapter! Now that I've found this story and read this far, oh please, let there be more... Oh god, yessssss!
Response from ladyofthemasque (Author of In Annulo)
There will be more! ~Lotm
love the story! you did a great job!
I am sad at Albus poignant death, and sad to see this story end. I will have to keep this as one to read again. It was done so very well. Thank you!
Well, damn! No other chapters for me to move forward to. Of course, I could go to TRS, huh? LOL... I'm so lazy. So she finally tells him. I wonder if he'll be very receptive of her admission. Here's to hoping! I remember what you said about chapter 17 being followed with 3 chapters of angst. Uh oh. LOL... I'm so close to that and am wondering what the cause could be. I don't wanna get fussed for spoiler-ing, but I have a pretty good idea. After speaking with somene else, she reluctantly confirmed some stuff. LOL... I am dreading yet looking forward to it. Does that make sense? ~snicker~Okay off for a bit, and I'm looking forward to an update. I may creep over to the other site for a look, but I'll review when you post here. Cheers.

RS.org does have up to 20 at the moment. MoITWF (YahooGroup), however, has all the way to 23, and gets all of the updates first. Feel free to pick up a torch, wave it irately, and join the Mob, if you want... (And get to read advanced chapters!) Hugs, and I look forward to more of your wonderful reviews, ~Lotm
I'm curious to see what the Mirror will show them all. Hehe! I felt sorry for her man when he cried. Sad. Hope it gets better for him. I think those cuts were planted lol... I'm so suspicious. Yay, Dumbledore vouched for him. Zacharias Smith... that was that arsehole from the D.A. meetings in OotP, right? Jerko... lol... I thought she hated that guy. I was thinking it was that McLaggen (however spelled) that she was snogging and went on that date with. I really need to read over HBP again. I'm only on chapter 7 still. I'm reading slowly and taking notes so that I can have a canon list thing. (Lazy though and haven't continued lately.) It always seems that I have other things to do. I was supposed to go to my mum's but I can't pull away from the net. hahaha! I'm gonna save the next chapter for tonight though. Cheers. Good work. Oh, and I really like Flitwick here.

Harry Potter Lexicon. That's the place I go. (Yeah, I'm lazy in that I won't do my own research, sometimes. But then again, I'm not quite healed to the point where I can open up book 6 just yet. Getting there, but not quite there just yet...) And I'm glad you like Flitwick! He's one of my favourite sub-characters in this story... (The man's head of Ravenclaw; he has to be smarter than his charicature!) ~Lotm
I liked Flitwick's involvement and glad Hermione confided in him. Wonder why her man was tortured? Part of the ploy to get her to feel "sorry" for him and trust him maybe since it seemed that Snape did his job. hmmm.... lots o' thoughts here. Gonna have to read more in a bit. I'm off to mum's for a few.

It's revealed later what Voldiebutt's motivations were for the torment. A lot of stuff gets revealed through the subtext, and through careful thought. (I don't like explaining out every last little detail; I'd rather make my readers work a titch to figure certain things out. Bleahhh, exercise, yeah, I know...) ;-D ~Lotm
Bloody brilliant! Oh, I loved it. So glad I've finished it. Didn't take me quite as long as I'd thought it would. (Of course, I WAS off from work today...)
I don't know if I can say enough about your characterizations! Dumbledore's and Harry's seemed spot on, and you've neatly explained Snape's confusing behaviors throughout the longest-bloody-trial-of-the-century (did it really have to be nearly 30,000 words?? LOL - but what with all the explanations you went through, I suppose it did... )
I really do think very highly of the way you managed to get Hermione from school-girl to Severus' wife so nicely (even if it did take ever-so-long...:) ) I'm glad you finally revealed exactly what Severus had really meant so many chapters ago when he'd told her he loved her. "I did love you." I would have started bawling too, if I'd been in Hermione's place! So sad. Poor Sevvie. ;-) I'm so gald they worked through all their problems... and that they had you around to help out! *wink*
*happy sigh* I just ADORE this story. I will probably never again read it in its entirety, but I'm sure I'll come back from time to time to revisit it...

Never say never, muwahahaha...hey, if it sucks me into re-reading it, I'm sure it'll suck you in, too.I'm verrrrry happy I could entertain, delight, edify, amuse, depress, elate, and otherwise give you pleasure in reading this story. Yeah, it was a bit long in places, but it needed to be thorough, and thorough and short don't necessarily co-exist very often. But you enjoyed it, and I'm glad!~Lotm
Hi!! I;m following it on TRS!! :P:P
