Seven years after the final battle: Severus is neither here nor there - and is apparently unwanted, dead or alive, until a small black kitten pins his cloak to a cobblestone. Hermione learns that now and then life rests on the flip of a friendly coin. Does love have the power to cancel time? Only the cats know for sure, and they can't talk.

How FRUSTRATING! "I miss you"...he chuckles...Poor Hermione.
Brilliant handling of an increasingly complex situation, Ariadne!
"“Oh, no, Professor, she is; I assure you. She must be, and you, I think, will have occasion to agree with me, although perhaps not for quite some time. Tell me, Professor – are the other staff at all, hrm, troubled by this student’s behavior?”
“The Divination professor is beside herself, but that is nothing extraordinary.”
Hermione heard Demetrios laugh. “They always are a bit mad. Luckily it’s not hereditary.”
“I do not follow…”
“Ah, no, of course not. My mother was the Oracle, you see.”
“The Oracle?”
“At Delphi. Quite the scandal that was; they’re supposed to be virgins, you know.”
Hermione could not begin to imagine Professor Snape’s expression."
BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA *dies*
*thinks again*
*cackles some more*
This was a delightful chapter. I know Hermione would just love to run up and throw her arms around Severus' neck, but history would never allow such a thing to happen right now.
So she is still stuck there. How frustrating.
I just love this story.
LOL. I love it.
Delightful chapter, although I'm sorry Hermine is still stuck there. Gah! But somehow I think she's come a little closer to returning. I was hopine we'd see 'future' Severus' reaction to all that.
The more I read this story the more I love it. Demetrios has to be one of my favorite original characters I've encountered. I don't know how you come up with his dialogue. The particular line, "The future is only ever imaginary; it rightly belongs to the mad," is wonderful. I would like to ask your permission to quote that somewhere on a profile or something, giving you credit, of course. I'm a big fan of your work and I look forward to reading more of it.

... thank you so much! :) Thank you for asking permission to quote the line somewhere - of course! I'm honored that you think it worth quoting.Cheers,~ Ari
Well, there's some clarification for him. Maybe. :D
Enthralled. Agog. Enamored. That's me. This story just gets better. Loved this chapter.
Wonderful, wonderful chapter!
I can't wait to see Severus' reaction - past and future. Or present from whichever point you view it...
Love Demetrios!
Fabulous.
Thank you thank you thank you! For updating, and for making the updates SOO worth the wait. I wonder what will bring her home? *sigh* I'll just wait until you tell us!
very good.
I love the reference to Waiting for Godot. I remember when my dad read it and went through a phase of being completely obsessed with it. Lucky's speech goes on and on and is completely hilarious. My cousin who was about 2 years old at the time LOVED my dad and would say whatever HE said, which was more often than not, something from Waiting for Godot. "In spite of the tennis" came out "Pied Tennet". We knew what she meant. Anyway, this is an excellent story and I'm enjoying it immensely.
Another painfully beautiful chapter.
Will her younger self remember these contemplative moments when her older self returnes to her current time? Will it help her to look under the wax ruby for the potion recipe?
Keep 'em coming. :)
Caught between Trelawney and Snape. Not good whatever age you are! :)
Random randomness:
In Albanian, the phrase "i thenë" (ee thay-nah) translates to "it is said".
The same does not hold true for Greek.
I wonder what Severus of the past will figure out before she returns to Severus of the present?
You could cut that tension with a knife. Love this chapter, love this whole story. I always get so excited when I get an email that you've updated.
I laughed (out loud!) so hard I very nearly *cried* with the cat-to-cat translations. Hahah Detention=Crucio! Bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
I absolutely adore how you've portrayed Demetrios! I want one of my own! His taste in music mirrors my own, as well.

Really can't get enough of this. Always sad to reach the end of each chapter.
That was incredible! I loved the perfect punishment.
Again, this is simply beautiful and heart-touching. I cannot wait to read more. You hook your reader (mind and heart) and never let go!
