Seven years after the final battle: Severus is neither here nor there - and is apparently unwanted, dead or alive, until a small black kitten pins his cloak to a cobblestone. Hermione learns that now and then life rests on the flip of a friendly coin. Does love have the power to cancel time? Only the cats know for sure, and they can't talk.

Sweet! She convinced him to stay and repaired him. Can't wait to see what happens next. Will she figure out how to make him whole? (Well, she'd better. That's all I'm sayin')
I was going to say now what, but he certainly made quite a leap there with his statement. Lucky he's invisible or he'd be dead again.
OH man, she's in trouble.
Yes, I did notice "Angst", but it also says "Romance" *taps foot impatiently* No, just kidding, it has a good pace.
Thankyou!
Oh dear, was that his outer voice? Hee hee... Interesting that Hermione can only hear him when he is utterly furious about something. Does this mean that he needs to intensely feel an emotion in order to communicate to her? Obviously, anger comes to him the most easily. On the other hand, anger may be just what he needs to get the will to fight for his existence.
Oh this is soooo wonderful! I am really loving it, and Severus's constant conversation with Mimi has me grinning! Lovely!
Demetrios totally rocks. I know this story is actually about Hermione and Severus, but Demetrios is my absolute favorite character here! Some of his mannerisms and phrases remind me of one of Catherine Tate's characters "Derek Faye" from her sketch comedy show, and I just hear "his" voice whenever Demetrios says anything...
Sev's current state (or un-state) of being is fascinating, and I can't wait to see what further research uncovers. I wonder if Demetrios would be able to see and hear Severus if he accompanied Hermione to the Library? Hmm.
Poor Severus, I see he made plan to survive. It's a pity it didn't work out, but I'm not sure Hermione was to blame.
Hmm, if damage to his 'body' is being repaired I wonder what other repairs are going on?
That cat is a hoot, you must have had experience with felines because you have their behavior down pat.
How wonderful, and all in quick succession. I love this little yarn, but not sure if they can turn back time to make it all better. I truly hope so. Or perhaps find another way out.
I'm sure you'll keep me guessing.
Too funny, how did she screw up so badly that he got that memo? Well at least she can hear him now, but I still favor her throwing something at his head.
I suspect that if Hermione knew how to throw something and make it bounce off of Severus's head he'd have one hell of a headache now.
Severus's temper tantrum reminded me of a three year old having a hissy fit. Since I always perceived him to be emotionally retarded this chapter was excellent in demonstrating his personality.
I think that may be why he was so bitter in canon, he never grew up emotionally. Yes, he had some hard knocks, there is no argument there. A unhappy childhood, a unhappy love affair and being tormented by his peers all made him a bitter, resentful adult. I wonder how he would have turned out if he had access to a therapist? Would he still have been a spy? Would he have even joined the Dark Lord?
I think a rabid plot bunny was just set loose. Chuckles.
Interesting chapter it opened up new areas of thought, at least for me.
Funny!
Hermione certainly has her hands full. Since Severus didn't make his choice where does it leave him? He's not alive, but he's not a ghost. This dilemma leaves lots of middle ground. So will he stay or will he go is the question in my mind.
So, if he choses to ever forgive himself, will he move on into the afterlife? Or will he be able to choose life again, as Harry did in book 7 where he was struck down by Voldemort and visited Dumbledore in that "inbetween" place?
This story is fascinating. And I enjoy all of the little historical notes at the end. My inner Geek smiles when I read them. :)
I am really loving this story! Its really unique and original and i cant wait to see what happens next....please update soon!
Oh I love it. Tumbling from talking cereals, knickers unfound (she doesn't wear any, right?) to Aristotle in one chapter. Big leap and precisely landed. Thank you!

So cool that Hermione's boss is a ghost - and that one to boot! I wonder how long it will take till Mimi has snuggled her cute little nose into Severus's heart. I don't think he stands a chance.

This typo-bit idea is brilliant, though rather restricting to a cat's mind, I would say. Mine always seem to think the longest, most complicated phrases when looking at me; they'd neet a sandpit insteat of a cereal bowl for the spelling.

Mimi is just adorable. Meee indeed! *rofl*

It must have been a hard blow to be taken for Ron Weasley, in a matter of speaking... *giggles*
The image of Hermione en deshabillé before the Floo, tallking to a Ron who's talking not to her face is extremely funny, too. But I wonder what happened to her knickers. Doesn't she wear any, or has she hidden them even better? The whole wardrobe thing rather puzzles me, too. *resumes eagerly awaiting the next step into enlightenment*
This is taking an interesting turn. I look forward to more.
I'm not sure why I hadn't read this yet so of course I read all the way through this expecting the next chapter. Oh, well. Unique story--love the humor weaved throughout!
Oh, she's just not considering the possibilities. Too bad they can't communicate yet.
