Ah! You're killing me with these short chapters! Must you be so stingy? Just kidding, of course.  I like how quiet your Severus is, how he speaks soflty and moves about quietly, (although I do tend to associate Snape's soft voice with a threathening tone, but I know that's not how you're using it here). I usually don't read stories that depict self-mutilation, but I didn't mind it in this chapter because it's not overly graphic or emphasized. One thing I noticed, about half-way through the chapter, in the paragraph that begins with 'Severus stared at her and ran his hands through his hair...' there's a set of brackets that I think should have been removed. (Sorry, I have an eagle-eye, and things like that jump out at me. Please let me know if my pointing out this minute oversights gets annoying, and I'll stop).I'm very curious to know Hermione's back-story, and what's going through her mind. I very much look forward to your next update. :)

Good the million galleon question we're all asking. I wondered why she wanted another drink instead of a hangover potion. She's talking to a potions master so I assumed it wasn't hair of the dog. I liked your description of Severus' appearance. Poor Hermione, looking forward to the answers to our questions.

I'm really enjoying this.  For some reason, I enjoy the stories where Hermione is damaged or dark and Severus has to help her.  You write very well.  I look forward to more.

Someone cares enough about her to stop her drinking. That's a start. :)

I liked this chapter. I really liked the quiet tone of it after the tension in the last one. Of course, I'm also glad that Hermione is now with Severus and relatively safe. That was an evil cliffie, though -- I'm dying to know Hermione's story! Please update soon. :)

Yikes! You overdid it, Hermione....good thing you have a dark night in tarnished armor. What the hell did that sick man have in mind? Oooh, he deserved more than a kick in the ribs, bastard.

Another great chapter. I loved the imagery, (the smell of Hermione's breath, the scruffy appearance of the man, etc.). I also liked the palpable tension in the chapter. One thing -- near the end when you wrote 'the smell of alcohol assuaged his nostrils,' did you by any chance mean 'assaulted'? It just seems to make more sense to me in the context, but I could be wrong.  Thank you for updating so quickly; I'm looking forward to the next chapter! :)

Now this is an intriguing proposition. Is she using the seed of men to gain power? (Farfetched, but an actual suspicion some men used to have of witches). Is she trying to fill her empty heart/soul? Dying to find out more!

I can't wait to find out how Hermione got to this point, and where you're going with it. This sounds like it's going to be dark and angsty, just the way I like it! :)

The story is well written, and the chapter, although short, flowed nicely. I realize that Hermione seems out of character, but people change, and I'm sure that there are reasons for these changes that will be revealed later in the story.

I'm looking forward to your updates.

Err... I beg your pardon? Very unlike the Hermione we know, but it might be interesting to learn how she got there. Definitely a bookmark-worthy beginning.
