Encounter

She was sitting at a small table in the corner of the crowded bar. He had been surprised to see her in the pub in the first place, and he was shocked to see how she was presenting herself. ‘We were drunk. You walked me home. Thanks,’ Hermione mumbled to him as she closed the door in his face.

In the shadowy corner by the basement steps, Severus stood and watched.
