Parts of this were so very hard for me to read. I was empathizing with Hermione, even though I haven't been in that type of situation before. However, I can totally relate to Ron and Hermione's marriage - pre-affair and divorce, as it's so much like my own. Honestly, more than a few times I was bawling like a baby at how she was feeling, and how she was being treated. And quite a few times I was yelling extra things at Snape, things that if you would have included them in the story, would have made the story five times as long getting him to atone for (call me a whore??? I don't think so buddy!) Personally I think he got off 'way too easy for THAT! But it's a lovely story and became a fast favorite this morning. Extremely well written!!!
I looooove this story! It is so well-written and keeps me wanting more!!! I love the wait you wrote Snape true to character; what a jerk he's been to Hermione! He really doesn't deserve her after all of that. The part about "Saint Shannon" really got me; Snape was just so wonderful to her and never treated Hermione like anything except a prostitute. So unfair! But very true to character. Please don't let her take him back quickly; he needs to crawl in the dirt and kiss her behind first! :) And maybe let's make Saint Shannon a little less perfect? Have Snape realize Hermione is so much more than his darling squib? Find out she was cheating on him or something? Please update soon!!!!

Thansk so much! Well, you know how when someone dies, we tend to remember only the good things about them. I'm sure Shannon had her faults, but... Don't worry, she won't rush back into his arms in the snap of a finger! ;-)
Response from Hogwartslibrarian (Reviewer)
Very true; so what horrible things can we have Snape remember about Shannon? I'm glad that she won't be in a hurry to get back to Snape. Thanks for the response, and good luck in the voting!

Hermione is being a little bitchy poo. At least I think so...Not that Severus doesn't deserve it. He was a jerk too.Frickin stubborn characters...You're doing a great job with them. It's believable and I'm really enjoying the story. I also really like Liam.~Christina

Thanks! Right, he hurt her, and that is not something she can just say, "Oh, you're sorry? Ok, lets get back together then." No, they have to work through things.

I like this story so far. I wish hermione would have been a bit rougher with ron. God knows I would have kicked his arse, marital problems or not. Can't wait to see what happens next. Wish I could add it to my faves.

Thanks! Well, Hermione is hurt, and she will have to state those hurts and then decide what she wants more: a live with or without Severus...

Nicely done. Narcissa is so funny as the 'nosy-Parker' of the group!! Also, very well written exchange between Liam and Severus, touching. Looking forward to the next bit! Cheers!

My heart went 'pang' when Liam confessed he thought Hermione didn't want to see him. I love how caring Severus is with his sone, and yet his sonn seems to understand his dad's moods. Neville = adorable goof nad you do him well. Loved the flowers and at least she is willing to hear him out - finally! Next?
Response from cocoachristy (Author of From a Frog to a Prince)
Thanks! Yeah, I felt bad for Liam too, and wanted Severus to give him some reassurance. I love Neville! :D She will hear him out, but some of her buried hurts will come out, and it's something they will both have to work out.

Hermione still needs to tend to her broken heart. When Severus said all those unkind things to her when she was still in Italy, he pierced her to her core, and it will take time and talk and a willingness to forgive for her to move on.Perhaps a little groveling on Severus' part would go a long way to convincing her that he is serious in his wish to marry her and take care of her and her children (all three of them) as well as Liam. The flowers were a good start, but he needs to follow up with heartfelt apologies and consistent concern for her wellbeing. In Chapter 5, when she had returned to Italy from spending Christmas in Britain, Severus had said some very unkind things to her: “What, did you think that we’d have a few shags and then I’d fall head over hills in love with you?” He snorted. “Don’t be ridiculous.” “No, I didn’t think that you’d fall in love with me, but I did think that perhaps you’d show some compassion, some feelings.”“Not bloody likely,” he lied, telling himself that this was what he wanted. She’d end things, and that would be that. He could continue things as they were before she’d so rudely interrupted his life.Putting her hand over her mouth, Hermione asked, “What are you, a robot? Have you no feelings? Why must you treat me no better than you would a prostitute?”He looked her up and down. “Well, you’d barely been here a month when you started coming over.” He conveniently forgot that he’d basically pushed her into it. “You say you hate the way I treat you, and yet you still come, begging for more, almost daily. What else would I equate you with?” As soon as the words were out of his mouth, Severus regretted them. But he could see by the look on her face that they were words that would not be easily taken back.Rubbing her hand over her heart, Hermione simply said, “Oh, God. Ouch. Direct hit.” His eyes were drawn to her hand as he watched her rubbing her chest as if trying to ease the pain away. He looked back into her eyes as she went on. “As I’ve said, I can’t—don’t want—to do this anymore. You’ve made your feelings perfectly clear, and now, let me make mine clear. I will not be a convenient fuck for you, Severus Snape. You know the way out.”This kind of hurt will not go away without a lot of work on both their parts—he to come to terms with his fear of commitment and his snarky mouth, and she to come to a willingness to forgive. All necessary and all very hard work.Great chapter and I can't wait to see what yuo have in store for my favorite couple!!!

Thanks, Beth! Right, I have already finished the next chapter, and that is one major point that is brought up. She will not just automatically fall into his arms because he says he's sorry. She (well, both of them) have to hash things out, and then she has to decide what she wants more--a life with or without Severus.

Well I hope they actually listen this time because so far it has all been blame. Poor Liam, the children always think its their fault. I know I did when my parents divorced. Maybe Hermione can talk to him and make him understand. I hope all will be well. Awesome story.
Response from cocoachristy (Author of From a Frog to a Prince)
Thank you! Well, there are some specific things that were especially hurtful to Hermione that will have to be brought out into the open before they can move forward.Kids do blame themselves, and I think Liam would see things that way because the entire situation was not explained to him at first. Glad you're enjoying it!

He was doing so well--I wish he hadn't suddenly felt it necessary to point out to her that if he hadn't stopped her, he'd be doubting the paternity of his child, though! Talk about self-defeating!This story continues to keep me wondering! Good job!

You know I think it has been good for their relationship that Hermione has not been quick to forgive. I think it will make Severus appreciate her all the more.

Thank you! I was going for so many things... Trying to show both sides, and trying to show that though they both love each other, the issues still need to be worked out. They need to be on equal footing... I agree. I don't think he would want a pushover...

Well, I am glad that Hermione are willing to listen to Severus, but can anything he says really explain or make it forgivable what he did? Will he ever stand proud beside a mudblood Gryffindor when in company of pureblood Slytherins? I admit to have serious doubts about that, I don't have much faith in him at the moment. For the childrens sake I do hope for a happy ending, but I don't trust him yet:-))(Then again, my view of him migth be influenced by the contempt and anger I have for him due to his figure in another story I am reading, so it is highly possible that I am not jugding this Severus fairly)
Response from cocoachristy (Author of From a Frog to a Prince)
Thanks! Well, all he can do is tell her the truth, and tell her how he feels, and they can try to work through that. He does love her, and his best friends, the Malfoys have already shown support in that direction, so yep, he would stand proud! ;-)

Poor Liam. Little kids are so quick to blame themselves for adult issues.I also love Rose and Hugo proving Ron wrong. LOL.You've done a nice job of writing a human Snape, true to self and not so occ that you think he's taken on a unrealistic personaility.
Response from cocoachristy (Author of From a Frog to a Prince)
Thanks! Yes, they do. And Imagine. Severus just probably said something like, I've seen Hermione this morning, and you and I are going to dinner with her tonight. At the time, I doubt he mentioned that she told him she didn't want to go... So when they got there, he just naturally assumed it was his fault.LOL! Right! ;-) I love Rose and Hugo!thanks so much! I am glad you're enjoying it!

It's good they're talking now. I just hope Hermione gets over these fits she's having and grows up a bit. I realize Severus was awful to her, but how many times is he going to have to explain himself while she sits on her high horse and damns him for his past behavior? He seems to be showering her with attention, doing everything shy of drawing blood for her, and she jsut keeps punishing him over and over again with her words - always cutting at him. I hope she doesn't end up sabatoging things herself. Afterall, there's only so many times a person can say they're sorry before eventually you forget what you're apologizing for and give it up as a lost cause. I started this story with the utmost sympathy for Hemrione and yet now I feel sympathy for Severus, while I don't feel a shred of it for Hermione. Strange how just a few chapters can lead a reader's emotions in a whole new direction. I feel like telling Hermione that if she doesn't let go of some of her self righteousness she just may find herself knocked up and alone and it doesn't seem like that is what she truly wants - but at the same time, I wouldn't blame Severus for walking away if what she does truly want is to continuously remind him how undeserving he is of her. Sister, you aren't all that!! ~snerk~

Thanks! Well, there is one thing (well a couple really) that needs to be hashed out. A mere I'm sorry won't cut it for her. In the next chapter, those will get talked about specifically, and then we'll see if she can get past them! :-)Yep, it is funny what a couple of chapters make! I was really trying to have everyone see both sides and all the reasons. They do love each other, that is for certain, but in the situation they are in, love is not everything...

At least she is willing? God, how women can fool themselves (myself included). She was ripe for the picking from day one. This is just making waves. I wish you could have made him worry at least for one day. He worries (a little) about Liam's feelings. About Hermione's - never. He was ever so sure about her. With good reason, too. Disgusting. Understandable, but unfair and terrible anyway.
