The way you took the reader through Severus' thought processes allowed me to feel the lonliness and dispair that he had felt after the war had ended and he still found himself a hunted man. His contentment in just knowing that Hermione had survived was enough for him as he watched Ron sweep her up and swing her around.Then, as I read further, I became very glad that he decided to woo her, to do all he could to make her his witch.Sweet memories of Hermione carrying him to sleep.

I am so glad you enjoyed this chapter! This was my first attempt ever at Severus' point of view, and I was so nervous about getting it right. I think I spent more time on this chapter than any other, even amongst my other stories. You caught just everything I wanted to portray. Thank you so much! How interesting ..... everyone else is suggesting the names of Charlie and Draco, but Hermione is the one who mentions Severus' name ..... hummm ..... Yes, very interesting.I am enjoying your story so much! Well done.Beth

I love the simplicity and intimate envioroment you set your charachter in. I also enjoy that your Ron, even if hotheaded is not tottally an arse. thanks for a nice read!

Thank you very much for your lovely review! Yes, I tried not to make Ron too much of a prat -- yes, he still has a temper, but I like to think that war matured him at least a little bit. ;)
I've not enjoyed a fic this much in forever, Shug... I meant to savor it slowly, but it wouldn't let me go ~ I read it in one big, greedy read...Your style is engaging - kinda reminds me of a more modern Austen - and I loved the scene in the Tate. Charlie coming out with "**deleted for spoiler**" made me choke on my coffee and grin delightedly, and really, your way with settings is heavenly. I can't decide whether I like Severus' flat or the Dorset cottage better. A lovely story, Shug - thank you for giving life to these characters (and this fic-reader!) after DH!~ Ari

That was so enjoyable! I liked the way everything progressed and Luna was fantastic! I have wondered if her looniness was masking something. Her mother being Slytherin would definitely be a good reason!!

What an incredible wonderful tale, from the furious beginning til the witty end - the idea of Luna overhearing some prophecies at the Ministry and exploiting them is just genial.
I loved very much the slow pace of the relationsship's development between S&H, and the deep emotions they showed. All of your caras are artfully written, and I look forward to Heart and Sou.

This was written for the SSHG Exchange at Live Journal, and so I was not only writing my first multi-chaptered fic, but I was on a deadline, too. So, I'm inordinately pleased that the slow development of S&H's relationship came through.
I am working feverishly on Heart and Soul, so hopefully it will begin to post in a few weeks or so.

I like the fact that Snape knows before anyone else and that he keeps it to himself. The ending where Hermione finds out and Snape says: “And why would you think that I would feel any differently?” Was a perfect line! I will join the people in the doorway in saying 'Aww'...

Great chapter. No doubt Ron will have a cow if Hermione even THINKS of starting any type of relationship with Mr. Snape. Can't wait to see what happens next.

A rather sad chapter, but happy in the sense that Severus' path to Hermione is, if not cleared, than slightly less obstructed. Wonderful writing. I'm rather excited to see how Charlie's eventual advent will impact the story. Great job.

Great chapter! I loved getting inside Severus' mind and finding out what he thinks about all of this. The portrait that you painted of him was masterfully done. His character is really developing in this fic and I like where you are taking it. I really like the idea that Fawkes now belongs to Severus...well, as much as a phoenix can ever really belong to anyone. Well done, I can't wait for the next chapter and the unveiling of Ron/Hermione's thoughts on the subject.

This is really interesting. I wonder if Severus has already figured the prophecy out, and when Hermione said it was ludicrous, he became upset. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next.

I feel bad for Ron, but not that bad as I am reading a story in "Potions Under Duress" which is to say that I want to read about Hermione and Severus and am expecting to read about them. That said, I still do feel a little (very little) twinge for Ron. Another great chapter, your fic is off to a smashing start!

I really tried not to turn Ron into a total prat as I think there are plenty of other valid reasons why a relationship between him and Hermione would not work out. So I'm glad that you feel a bit of sympathy for him.
