Reviews for His Draught of Delicate Poison
"oh dear", shanna said to subversa, sotto voce, "another chapter ended." I am sorry, I just wanted to use sotto voce in a sentence. I LOVE that. You are great! Can't wait for more.
Response from Subversa (Author of His Draught of Delicate Poison)
LOL! You crack me up. It is my duty to improve the vocabulary of Severus Snape lovers everywhere. Thanks, doll!
From start to finish in two days. I love this story, it captures everything perfectly.
I've laughed, gasped, cried and laughed again.
I bow down to your brilliance and wish that I could award you more than 5 stars.

I'm so pleased to know you enjoyed it so much. The story absorbed a year of my life and it was very satisfying to write. It's reviews like yours that remind me how good it felt. Thank you.

There's no question that Hermione belongs with Severus, because her machinations would do a Slytherin proud -- and based on the previous chapter, it sounds as though Severus is working on a scheme or two of his own (hopefully with the intent of unloading that tiresome Fleur Delacour)! That being said, however, I for one am not entirely certain that Severus will really be appreciative of Hermione's efforts to manipulate him -- even if it was clear from his tirade that he really cares about her! One can only hope that she won't regret pulling that particular tiger -- excuse me, serpent! -- by the tail!
Response from Subversa (Author of His Draught of Delicate Poison)
*snort* I like tiger, LOL! He reminds me of one so many times, snarling and dangerous. I think your observations are just, regarding all the manipulations going on. Severus, though, seems to be very much aware of Hermione's goings on - and he does understand that she's doing what she does because she wants him. Thanks so much for the note, my dear!
Well, well, well. These two plans have met head on and now all we're left to find out is how they end. YAY!!!!! I love the picture of Severus going into a place like Victoria's Secret. It just makes me giggle to think of him interacting with Sally. But this line, "Snape’s senses were assaulted from every direction by items which Hermione no doubt needed in every available colour. He began to wonder whether she ever needed to wear street clothes again." was the kicker!! Too funny!Poor Remus along for the ride. But I'd say it was more than worth the price of admission. Quite the prize he's going home with. =) Fleur and Percy made me laugh too. I can just see Percy standing there like a wet rat while Fleur goes on and on. Yes, because we know Hermione never does anything for anyone else, does she?? And lastly, I adore that Dumbledore is back and the whole little scene between him, Minerva and Severus. "Well he doesn't need our help for that." Classic!Again, I can't wait for the end, but yet I want it to go on forever. Guess I can't have it both ways. Oh well, I'll just have to beg and plead for more goodness from you however I can get it. ^.^Fantastic work darlin
Response from Subversa (Author of His Draught of Delicate Poison)
I *do* amuse myself endlessly. That whole bit of Severus in the lingerie store had me rolling - and you picked out my favourite line from that scene. I can just see his senses overloading - and gesturing as to Hermione's size - and the other woman customer eyeing him - I do adore that whole section.Severus is SO pissed and he can't get Minerva or Dumbledore at all excited about what he's so upset about - and to add insult to injury, they feel sorry for him. He's having *such* a bad day. Thanks for the note, doll. I'll e-mail soon.
Another enjoyable chapter. I surely hope that Severus will find Fleur and Percy in a compromising position. One enough to break the marriage contract. Percy being all wet...yeah that sums him up nicely!Nice to see Remus/Tonks and Sirius and Sophronia taken care of...now lets just hurry this Hermione and Severus wedding and I will be a very Happy reader.

Hi,
Response from Subversa (Author of His Draught of Delicate Poison)
! Yes, I think Percy all wet is an apt description of his character - at least the way I've drawn him, LOL!It's fun getting the side couples all taken care of ... but you know who will be the *last* ones resolved! Thanks for the note!
I love the way Snape mucks with Fleur's mind. ~snerk~
Response from Subversa (Author of His Draught of Delicate Poison)
He's so manipulative, here. You gotta love him for it, right?
I loved this entire chapter, and it was delightful to see Severus being sneaky and several of the couples finding happiness. Would it be horrible to note that what really made my night, however, was the 'What would Miss Piggy do?' comment in the Author's Note? :)
Response from Subversa (Author of His Draught of Delicate Poison)
LOL! Well, it's not horrible, love, it's just true. Thanks for leaving a note and for making me laugh, as well.
oh please...*begging and groveling* let severus and hermione KISS in the next chapter. That would be -sigh-awesome.P.S. HAHA victor..didn't see it comin' and got played!
Response from Subversa (Author of His Draught of Delicate Poison)
Soon, Entmaid - soon. I'm so pleased that you are enjoying it SO much. I'm terrible to Viktor, aren't I?
I very much appreciate the note!
More,please,

Hi,
Response from Subversa (Author of His Draught of Delicate Poison)
! More to come, for sure.
Ok, am I the only one who feels bad for Viktor out here. I mean he was so played and let high and dry. He doesn't even have to offer for anyone! I know most people are waiting for Dora and Remus to get together but, well, poor Viktor. The chapter again was great. I love how you build up to most things and the visuals help as well. I can just imagine the huge blow up you have planned for Fleur. Should be spectacular if the present story holds up which I am sure it will.5 days until the next update???? Maybe sooner????please please please
Response from Subversa (Author of His Draught of Delicate Poison)
I agree with you! Poor Viktor! I am rather ashamed of how I made use of him - and Fleur, really - but I had to have *some* victims in this story.
*is ashamed*
We'll see about a quick update - you did beg nicely, and the Potions master approves.
*giggles madly*
There's so much to love in this chapter. I can't decide if my favorite scene is when Fleur confronts Hermione about the braclet, or if it's the scene when Snape shows Fleur her new bedroom *L* I love how Sophronia is in on the plans as well, the little 'minx' as you had Severus call her ;)~
Response from Subversa (Author of His Draught of Delicate Poison)
I loved the almost sibling-like, almost friend-like alliance that Severus and Sophronia end up in. The constraints of step-parent/step-child seem to fall away, and they deal with one another like people who went to school together.
I definitely like the scene with Fleur in her "knobless" bedroom! Thanks, darlin'. Isn't it fun that we made friends because of this story?
Response from Elfarren (Reviewer)
Are you kidding? It's awesome!
But not as awesome as your story, of course!
loverly chapter! I loved watching Severus' plan unfold. Hermione is oblivious and I just think it's sweet. I can't possibly pick a favorite part, I loved every bit of it as usual. Can't wait for the next chapter!
Response from LuthienCelebrindal (Reviewer)
whoops! my computer went crazy on me
Response from Subversa (Author of His Draught of Delicate Poison)
Gosh, liked that whole chapter? You are a glutton for punishment - so I'll see if I can dig up a bit more for you! Only four more chapters to go! Thanks for the note!

.
Well, at least it's nice to know that Hermione won't have to turn to the Office of Last Resort -- if Severus fails to come through (although that doesn't seem likely), there's always Healer Howser. However, I hope Severus comes to grips soon -- because not having some sort of resolution is becoming a torment! I hope that you can find someone to pair Healer Howser with -- such a gallant gentleman deserves someone nice (Varen Vector, perhaps, now that Lucius is gone?)
BTW, I love the Monty Python reference (Viktor smelling of elderberries) as well as the subtle Sense And Sensibility reference (Sirius's thought about endeavoring to deserve Sophronia echoing what Colonel Brandon says about Willoughby endeavoring to deserve Marianne).
Response from Subversa (Author of His Draught of Delicate Poison)
I can see that you are thoroughly steeped in your Alan Rickman lore (the reference from the Sense and Sensibility movie), your Monty Python, and that you read the entire chapter very carefully. Thank you for such a comprehensive read and review!
Oh My God!!! There is just so MUCH in this chapter that I'd have a whole chapter here in the review if I went on about EVERYTHING that I love about it. I'll try to restrain myself to the major highlights for me. Snape's plan is AWESOME!! I would hate to be on the receiving end of it for sure. But he definitely knows what makes Fleur tick and in turn, tick off! hahaha Keladry's Note summed it up deliciously. The Weasley boys, um men, got their girls. Love it! Bill's "celebration" with Minerva was such a sweet touch. And Shadow wanting to be sorted into Gryffindor cracked me up.Sophie played her game perfectly. That she caught Severus off guard and into seeing her as a "woman" was so cute, but her "catching" of Sirius was the sweetest of moments. I love how she could still be so naive even after being married for so long. She's exactly what Sirius needs. I'm going to stop there. But I have to say that as much as I can't wait for the fallout of the plan and all that will entail, I'm almost scared for this to end. It's a world that I don't want to leave!!! I'll be back often for visits that's for sure! ^.^
Response from Subversa (Author of His Draught of Delicate Poison)
I look so forward to your reviews! I am truly pleased that you are enjoying the story so much.
Ah, you approve of Snape's plan! I really think I have been so mean to canon Fleur that I owe her a formal apology for writing this story. The funny thing is that as I've gone along, the utter loathing my readers feel for Fleur probably induced me to be even meaner to her!
Thank you for enjoying Sophie and her neat bagging of her quarry. Not everyone likes Sirius very much, but I really enjoyed the pairing of Sophie and her Siri.
Saying that you're "scared" for this to end is terribly sweet. It is the finest compliment an author can receive.
I was looking for completed stories and came upon your Enchantment series and read all of them. Even though you have not finished with this story I could not help but read it. The ending of this chapter reminds me of why I like completed ones...I will have my fingers bitten down to their stubs while I await your next chapter!!!!Thanks for providing me with two glorious days of reading...your stories are fabulous.

Hi
Response from Subversa (Author of His Draught of Delicate Poison)
! Nothing flatters me more than to know that someone has read all of my stories - and if you've done it all in two days, then you are a brave, brave girl! Thank you so much for taking the time to let me know. I hope you'll let me know what you think of this story as we go on - only five more chapters!
Fabulous story! A woman after my own heart - Edna St. Vincent Millay and Jane Austen AND a very fine plot and story of your own. Simply wonderful - an intricately woven tale. Would that all fanfic writers were as accomplished as you!
I'm so glad Snape has finally seen sense!
Response from Subversa (Author of His Draught of Delicate Poison)
He is rather thick, isn't he? But he has some pre-conceived notions about himself that impede his ability to see himself clearly. Thanks for the note, my dear!
I just noticed, because I'm re-reading, but in an earlier chapter Stormy was worried because she doesn't speak French and didn't know where French Guiana was, but in this chapter Shadow says that all the Snapes speak French.
Response from Subversa (Author of His Draught of Delicate Poison)
Hi, Jenonymous! If Stormy continued her schooling at home, she will learn French from the French master as well. At this point in her schooling, she has not yet begun the French lessons. That is, however, an excellent point. Wow, you read closely! That is very flattering.
really, can you write faster? I mean that in the absolute nicest way
Response from Subversa (Author of His Draught of Delicate Poison)
Poor Entmaid! I will post again soon, I promise. Thank you for the enthusiasm!
Hee hee hee! Go Nanny!Snape's line about being ashamed not being at the top of his to-do list is one of my favorites this chapter. I'm glad to see at least one character with their head out of the cauldron! :)
Response from Subversa (Author of His Draught of Delicate Poison)
I was kind of pleased with Severus' remark to Tonks about his to do list - he's such a smart ass. Nanny is a terrific character; she is so much fun to write! Thanks for the note!
I had pegged Severus as a leftie, too. And you named Alverard "Poindexter!" Brilliant! Ooooh, engaging Nanny's help means it's all pretty much a done deal. Can't wait for 25!
Response from Subversa (Author of His Draught of Delicate Poison)
When I was a little girl, there was a Barbie Dating Game. The geeky looking loser was called Poindexter. It was the very worse thing I could think of, LOL! I'm glad you have such faith in Nanny! Cheers!
this chapter just reawakened from deep wthin me a great hatred for Floo 'er. sry. i mean, Fleur. these couples need to sort themselves out. lol. cant wait for more!
Response from Subversa (Author of His Draught of Delicate Poison)
Fleur really is a nasty piece of work. I'm glad you're enjoying it - thanks for the note!
NANNY ROCKS!!!!!! I simply adore this little creature with the HUGE personality. She's the perfect foil for Severus. Not one to sit and take his attitude but more than shrewd enough to hand it all back to him on a silver platter no less. The puking when it was Fleur and her perfume instead of Hermione and her "scent" was great.I liked the appearance of Healer Howser at the ball. Suck on that a while Percy!! HAHAH! And his line about having to say something funny just to make her laugh again was wonderful. But of course just seeing that Severus was back to "himself" and now has hope AND a plan is the most tasty part of this chapter. MMMM can't wait for more!HAPPY 2007!
Response from Subversa (Author of His Draught of Delicate Poison)
Happy New Year to you, my dear. I hope you enjoyed my gift
Nanny is one of my favourite OCs, I must admit. She does rule Severus with an iron fist. I'm glad you enjoyed Healer Howser at the ball. I could not resist a bit of last-minute competition for the professor to overcome.
I'm glad you like the "plan" - we're getting down to the end, finally!
New favorite line in all of fanon: "Now can you PLEASE take Fletcher elsewhere?"That's just so perfectly Snapesque for the circumstances.
Response from Subversa (Author of His Draught of Delicate Poison)
He is trying *so* hard to be a good, forbearing brother - but there are some things that just get completely up his nose! Thanks so much for the note, my dear!
Response from Fawkes_07 (Reviewer)
Exactly! The poor fellow can only stand so much, and a pink Tribble is definitely outside that limit. Yet he'd never hurt Stormy's feelings deliberately...it's perfect.
