Reviews for His Draught of Delicate Poison
Val Delacour is one lucky sob! He got infinately better than he deserved. And that evil witch, Fleur, just had to follow Severus to the kitchen. Umm umm umm umm umm. Well, here's hoping she will soon be undone!I love this story!!!Beth
Sooner or later Hermione had to have her chance with Severus. Whew! 'Thought it might never come. This was a wonderful chapter, and I enjoyed it so much. Now I have to wonder what Miss Delacour will come up with? Thanks, Beth
Well, it seems as though Hermione's plan is beginning to come together. Will there be a derailing or two? I suspect so...I chuckled when Fleur said, “When one has love, what does one need with the society of mere acquaintances?” And then Lucius replied, “But whatever will you and Severus do without company, Miss Delacour?” The interchange between Fleur and Lucius was so well written as to speak volumes while saying so few words! Good for you!The scene between Severus and Stormy at the end of the chapter is among the sweetest I've read. The skinny cherub assured of salvation and the gaunt ogre thinking on his damnation -- good imagery. And Severus has just got to get rid of that Fleur. Ugh! Marriage to her would be an undeserved damnation!Thank you for a great story!Beth
It was fun to follow along as Hermione appreciated Snape's "assets" and then refused to be intimidated when "he whirled around and nailed her with his piercing black gaze." She is such a clever witch. I laughed out loud at how adroitly she got Snape's mind off of having a "talk" with Skye and onto thinking about what it would be like in years to come being married to Fleur, "spending his twilight years with the clone of Mrs. Delacour.." I very much liked the way Severus handled the problem that is Val Delacour. Nicely done! And what are we to make of "the young widow Snape" and Lucius Malfoy? Can Severus wrap his head around such a thought? Hum.. yes, indeed, this is just plain FUN!Well done, Subversa!Beth
Hum..... This gets interestinger and interestinger. What could Lucius be up to? Better yet, what is Hewrmione up to? That girl can be up for just about anything -- so long as her heart tells her it is the right thing, she's game!I am enjoying your story very much. Now I'm off to chapter 7! Regards, Beth
Thank you Subversa so much for this story where Hermione acts her age and Severus doesn't turn to mush. I have read it through a couple of times and like it better each time.I so enjoy your imagination and skill with words. Thanks also for your comments about your husband. It is so nice to see a supportive "real" relationship in this sea of fiction.
Severus' lack of certainty that Hermione could really love him for himself gave a great deal of poignancy to the ending of this story. And I loved the great job you did of pairing various people up. Draco/Luna is my guilty pleasure ship and you did a nice job of sketching out why it could actually be good for both of them. And I loved having Severus actually be able to be part of a family in this story before Hermione and seeing how Hermione just knits all the elements together.
And with the ending of this chapter, this enjoyable little piece of fluff has become something much more. The last few paragraphs brought me to tears. I have seen this story recommended many times before and have no idea why I haven't started it before. Now I really wish April hadn't been so busy that I could have finished reading this before voting in the second round of the SS/HG awards. ;-)
Ah, here we arrive at the end, and how sad I am..but elated that this story ended so well!! You know I loved every minute of it. Thanks for the wild ride!
Damn! This story is even better when read a second time. I had to leave you another review, just to show how much I appreciated it. Bravo! Excellence in written form, if I may say so. Few stories are so well done that you can remember certain details and events that happened within the text, even months after reading it. Great show!Cheers!

MmeSnape, thank you for reading again - and even more, thank you taking the time to leave a note. What a lovely compliment! There are few things an author appreciates more than the news that her story sticks in your mind. Bless you!
Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Lovely, lovely, lovely!!! I have just read this in one sitting and totally ignored my husband going on about Tiger Wood's performance as he watched the golf on TV. Who cares when you can read about Severus' performance? And talking about Sev's performance - mmm yes please! Thanks for the ride xxx
Response from Subversa (Author of His Draught of Delicate Poison)
Oh my word! You read it all in one go??? I'm sure that both Tiger Woods and hubby will forgive you ... someday.
I am impressed with your fortitude! Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a note for me!

Author's Response: Shay, what a lovely review. I am pleased beyond saying that you liked it so much. Thank you for taking the time to read it and then sticking around to share your thoughts with me!
jracklesfan77's response: I know I should have reviewed chapter by chapters, but I rarely do. I do, however, leave some form of review that gives my overall opinion on everything at the end of the story. You deserved the praise!
You have no idea how I looked forward to updates! (I KNOW I should have told you after each chapter!) and sometimes out of sheer frustration and impatience I would click the bookmark more than once a day!
Thank you again! I'd love to read more of your work - maybe when I finish with the current reading list I'll go back and look you up!
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!!!! This has to be my all time favorite fic.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Sheedy! I'm so pleased that you enjoyed it.
Dear Sub, I have read this story start to finish a few times. I love it more each and every time. This time, however, I just realized that he tricked her into asking for the apprenticeship the same way he tricked her into asking for marriage. Very cute. I love love love the whole kit-n-cabootle. I hope you and SubHub are well. I miss your updates. What's new on your horizon. Happy Holiday, Muggle Mom
Response from Subversa (Author of His Draught of Delicate Poison)
Happy Holiday to you, as well, Muggle Mom! Yes, he did trick her into asking for the apprenticeship, just as he did when he tricked her into proposing. Slytherin Bastard! Thank you for the giving the chapter another read-through.
All is well at the Sub-House. I'm writing a new chaptered story for the "last" SS/HG Exchange over on LJ, which I will post here once the exchange is complete. So, you'll have a new story from me just before Book 7 hits the stores! (Are you excited?)
You know, Subversa, last year when this was posted for the first time at Ashwinder, I was breathless. This time, I'm flushed, hot and... breathless. His Draught of Delicate Poison has always been special to me, and your supperb writing makes the story all the more appealing.
Response from Subversa (Author of His Draught of Delicate Poison)
Thank you, Nata - I cannot argue with flushed, *hot*, and breathless! It is the best compliment a romance author can receive! Bless you!
Ah! Love of my Potter-literary life!!!! I'm so thrilled that you've posted the "finale" to this piece of wonderfulness. And what an ending it is. The use of the Faerie Silk dress as the wedding gown is so perfect. And that it was Severus' idea is even more perfect. Too funny that as his wife she "cannot be compelled to testify against" him. heheheNeville's shock at Sev's smile was too great. Typical Neville. Good thing he's got Pansy now.Healer Howser and Prof. Vector are so cute. Nice touch. The wedding night was truly beautiful. A touching tribute to all that these two have gone through to be together.Again, this is such a wonderful universe that I am totally loathe to leave, but rest VERY assured I will be back frequently to get my fix.Thank you once again for gifting us with this story and everyone in it. You are my Queen!!!
Response from Subversa (Author of His Draught of Delicate Poison)
Hallo, love! I've missed you, too! I've been busy writing my piece for the "last" (big sniffle) SS/HG Exchange on Live Journal - I haven't really fallen off a cliff!
I'm glad you enjoyed the use of the faerie silk dress as her wedding gown. Me too, obviously! He really does like the way it feels, and he has a true attachement to the dress.
I went through a big rewrite of this chapter before posting here, and the scene with the Healer and Vector was one of the major scene-fixes. I'm delighted that you enjoyed it.
Ah, the wedding night. They really did earn it, I must admit!
Thank you, dear one, for your faithful support. It means the world to me!
awwwwwwwwwwwwww cute. I love this story from start to end in very way...eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Lovely and romantic...I will cry now * sniff sniffe of the little sniffes* ( I know crazy)

Response from Subversa (Author of His Draught of Delicate Poison)
I am so pleased that you found it to be both lovely *and* romantic. Thank you for taking the time to say so!
The Wedding was so beautiful, one wishes to have been there!I wish Severus had kept Mortimer, a purple pygmy puff might have done him good.Thank you for sharing!
Argh, I want to yell at Tonks to get a move on!! What is she waiting for, sunshine?? Gwah!! I like that Snape finally seems to come around, but he better hurry, too, he's running out of time.hahaha, I can just see Percy and Fleur end up with each other, serves them right!!(you can tell I'm enjoying myself reading this, what gave me away?) ;)Oh thank you so much for sharing!!

"He began to wonder whether she ever needed to wear street clothes again." It's a guy thing, I guess!
