Reviews for His Draught of Delicate Poison
Love, love, love the Sleeve Potion!!!
Am reading this from the beginning for the first time. It's such a great story!
So, I started reading this last night before bed at maybe...1:30 ish. The next time I looked at the clock it was 5:30, so I thought to myself, no point in sleeping now, and carried on reading. I fairly had to pry myself away from my computer to go to class. All day, I waited to get back to this story, but I now find myself disappointed. It's over (sad face). You are an absolutely marvelous writer and I have enjoyed this story to the highest degree.
Well done.

Thank you for the lovely review. I'm sorry I kept you up all night, but I'm very happy you enjoyed the story so much. Cheers!
I woke this morning to "Smooth Operator" on my husband's alarm, so of course I had to begin my day with a trip to this wonderful universe and reread all my favorite parts. Thank you once again for this beautiful story and world to enjoy time and time again.
Thank you so much, your story was very good. I just stubled upon all this Harry Potter -fanfiction and your story was the first complete one I happened to read. I really liked the way you kept suspense up until the last few chapters and built up a good plot. At first I was a bit baffled about all the balls and such but soon realised what alternate universe means. I also liked how you handled the characters: Snape was very much like himself and Hermione got to show bot her young age and maturity. Dialogue was awesome and the ending chapter simply marvellous. Loved the wedding. As a devout fan of Jane Austen I really grew attached to this alternate universe you created. Thank you once again!
oh! it's so beautiful! Thank you, sincerely.
I really enjoyed how every couple in your story found their mate. This way, none of them had to have the ministry choose for them a spouse. I'm glad that Severus eventually decided that he would fight for Hermione, because she was obviously a better choice than Fleur. Even his family like Hermione much better (though that's not always a good reason to choose between two people. ;). I am glad that you wrote moments between Severus and Hermione after they became engaged. It would have been sad if they were at odds throughout the entire story. I hope that Percy and Fleur had a happy life together. :)
I had to giggle at the way that feared warrior ran from Hermione as though the Hounds of Hell were on his heels. Poor bastard. Well, I can't wait till I read about his calculated fix. Ha!
This is one of the most evilly planned cliffies in the history of fan fiction. I can only stop here and mention that because I've read this before. Truly and utterly heartless you are. [giggles] Great job!
I love the latest exchange between Sophie and Siri. It is full of so much promise and love. It makes me swoon.
This is always the hardest chapter for me to read. Since my second reading of this story, I've always wanted to skip over it because it is so painful. Painfully obvious that Severus loves Hermione, but is too awfully stubborn to admit it to anyone, including himself. But what this chapter makes me feel, aside from angsty, is great joy (at the end) and statisfaction for Hermione's job-well-done for pursuing Severus despite the odds. Cheers!!!!

A wonderful fan artist did a picture of the end of this chapter, as a commissioned birthday gift fot me. You can see it here:

And this one is from chapter 15, when they spend the night in the cabin, also by the fabulous Odella:

I've enjoyed your comments the last couple of days, love. thank you for letting me know how you enjoy it.
Excellent as ever. This will always remain one of my favorites. Thank you again, dear author. This story is a true joy.
I laughed hysterically at the end of the Keladry's Note, just like the MC commercial here in the states! Completely entertaining. Fleur is SUCH a shrew! Severus could have done nothing better than he has (as we find out soon)! Cheers!
hands-down one of the absolute best i've read! all i can say is "wow!" seriously, my mind is totally blown, i think it will take me days to recover! awesome job!!
You know, I totally missed Healer Douglas Howser the first time I read this. I was looking for tender romance and decided to re-read this one, and alarmed the dog when I burst out over Doogie Houser, MD, right in the middle of an HP universe! Goodness, we must be of the same generation (although I bet I'm older). Still a brilliant story, still love it to pieces. It's the epitome of the Marriage Law Challenge, in my opinion.
Ah... The picture now has a story! And a lovely story too! The waking up is exquisite. Thank you!

*big smile*
That must be my second-favourite scene in the story. *sigh* It was rather romantic, wasn't it?
I've been following the gift exchange, and when I saw your gift, I thought I would come over and read the story to go with it.Really enjoying it so far, and I absolutely love the last paragraph of this chapter. So touching and poignant. Love your Severus to bits!

The last paragraph of Chapter 8 is one of my favourites I have ever written. I am pleased to know that you love my Severus as much as I do, and I hope you'll let me know what you think of the story as you go along. Thanks for the note!
That very same problem with cleavage creepage happened to my mother at my wedding. We have pictures of her throughout the day, and you can tell how far through the day it was by how low her bodice was. She spent a lot of time in the restroom readjusting--but she was the one who *made* the dress. Moral of the story? Don't try to fit your own clothes without someone else to help.
Oh my GOD! This was an absolutely amazing story. I'm in the middle of writing my own story, and I have had to put it off so I can finish this one. Now I can safely return to the regular scheduled program.
OH MY GOD this chapter was better than the whole story itself!!! DIES... Please write more in this vein. And may I say I am very jealous of you and you slytherin husband...

I'm so glad you enjoyed it so much! Severus and Hermione in the cabin is one of my favourite things *ever*. Thanks for leaving a note!

mine too! I swear, I am an avid reader of snape hermione fic, and that chapter is one of the best things I have ever read. Masterful, really. Thank you so much for your dedication to writing. That kind of relationship makes me so sad sometimes, because its not the kind of relationship I will ever have with my fiance. We have something great too, but not quite like that.

Romance fiction is all well and good, and it gives a girl something to dream about, but when all is said and done, it is the man who is willing to partner you in your life who really matters, isn't it? He may not be the embodiment of our dream of the tortured Potions master, but the man who comes home to you and shares your life is the one who is really important.(thus spake the voice of experience!)
Response from MaevePotter (Reviewer)
of course you are right :) Its only that sometimes one could do with the unadulturated worship he shows hermione hehe... Oh well lol.
I have to shoutout to Bentwaters for opening my eyes to Subversa's subtle slip-ins..It seems I was unaware of Doogie and the Bradies making an appearance. Thank you, Bentwaters. As for you Subversa, I read your Christmas story from start to finish while waiting for this. I am going to miss this fic so much. You are a talented writer and I hope to keep finding more jewels such as this. Speaking of jewels..i am a real live jeweler and I LOVED the picture of Hermione's necklace. I would take it in white gold, thoughyou are the queen!!
I suppose that we all can be satisfied with only one more chapter if we absolutely must -- provided that chapter deals with the wedding and the wedding night! I'm a little surprised that Hermione allowed herself to get into such a tizzy over whether or not Severus still wanted her -- I mean, leaving the country? Could it be that one of the drawbacks to Gryffindor nobility is a tendency towards martyrdom? I very much liked the opening scene in which Severus is woolgathering and daydreaming about Hermione...I can't remember coming across many or any other scenes like this in SS/HG fic! He just doesn't strike you as the type...
What an amazing chapter. Your story is like a good wine, it just keeps improving. Loving it.Best wishes.
Just lovely. I can't even come up with a more fitting word or phrase because I'm back to being a happy little puddle of goo. I always adore when you have Severus get to the point of truly expressing his feelings in words to Hermione. You just have such a wonderful way of presenting him and his heart. You do however crack me up with your little jokes. Mike and Carol??? How funny. And that you introduced them at first having a conversation in bed!! All I can see is the Brady House master bedroom. I sure hope the Grangers' is a little more modern than that. But then, after having Dr. Douglas Howser in there, who else could you have as her parents? The party was lovely. I especially like how all the Snape girls were commenting on Severus' behavior. Very sweet. Just all in all a wonderful chapter. So, only one left?? I so want to get to the wedding (and wedding night) but *sigh* I'm gonna miss this. Oh well, I'll have to look into finding things to offer up to your muse so that I can help keep her happy and "fed" and in turn, keep ME happy and "fed". Deal?? Huggles!!

You're welcome entmaid!!!! Glad to be of service. Hee!!
Oh, so good! I didn't want it to end!
Hermione really should have been a Slytherin! Remus is right - she is a dangerous woman. :) I giggled all through the scene with Dumbledore's return, and again when Hermione was busy 'explaining' the situation to Snape. Out loud, earning a few more odd looks from my family to add to my collection. Absolutely delightful chapter!
