Reviews for Denial
A well done chapter. Theo seems to have opened up some now that they are getting to know each other. Loved Uncle Lance, and Moe. I was glad that Hermionie and Severus put their friction aside for now. But who knows how long it will last, his reaction to the date they choose dose not bode wel.l

I have to say first off that I got soooo excited because I saw I had TWO new chapters to read....until I realized I had failed to mark the previous chapter as read. Happily this was a nice, meaty chapter. And my oh my isn't Severus concerned about Hemione's well-being.
Response from little beloved (Author of Denial)
Yes, he is strangely concerned! Touching, really. :) The chapters from 10 onwards are all pretty long and meaty! LB x

Oh, no! Hermione is marrying my exhusband -- Run!!! lol :)He also thought that money grew on trees, and that using those funny plastic rectangle things in his wallet was the best thing since sliced bread. Hermione is in for a rough ride if Theo doesn't grasp the concept of money management. If they're going to make a go of it, she's going to need to set parameters and find an excellent accountant to slow Theo down. Maybe Severus isn't being such an idiot about the two of them after all. Lovely chapter!!!

Rosered, you need to owl her RIGHT NOW and warn her off your ex! But no, she won't listen, so you'd be wasting your parchment. Damn stubborn Gryffindors. :/ Thank you for your review, my dear. More later today. LB x

Dearest little beloved, I know this is finished so I hope you won't leave us waiting too long. I don't think I've read a story where I really wasn't sure I knew where it was going in forever. I'm baffled and very excited to find out more. I really can't imagine what is actually going to happen. I can't imagine that Hermione and Theo will actually get married. I'll be waiting eagerly for the next chapters!

Her only other choice is Micheal Corner or flee the country. She really hasn't been given enough of a reason to do either considering that no one else was discouraged from getting married except Hermione. Too bad Draco didn't want her. What did Severus really expect Hermione to do? Had he truly expected her to marry Mr. Corner just on his word alone, considering the way he has treated her? His credibility has suffered because his cruel treatment of Hermione thus far. From her point of view it would be difficult to believe he really wanted to help her. He may be correct about Theo, but he really didn't offer her much of an alternate option. What does he know about the other young man? How does he know the other young man is suited to Hermione? If he had reasons she would be happy with the other young man's offer, he didn't give her anything to go on. Accepting Theo's offer isn't any more foolish than any of the other candidates. They are all just taking the same leap of faith based on the impressions they've acquired under unnatural conditions as it is. If Severus wanted Hermione to trust him, he should have dealt with her in a more professional way from the beginning. She would have been much more likely to consider his advice. It's really Severus' fault she isn't taking him seriously.

That is EXACTLY it in a nutshell. After all their sparring, how is she meant to believe he really has her best interests at heart? She can't! And at this stage, I totally see why she would think Theo is a better option than Michael Corner. He's been to Oxford - she sees him as an intellectual equal. And as for Severus, well, I think it would be one thing for Hermione to marry Michael and be out of his life (out of sight, out of mind!) but to have to watch her marriage to his stepson fail would be another thing altogether! LB x

What is Severus' problem? I don't think it is the she saved his life thing. Does he feel jealous about someone else marrying her or something? Is he attracted to her and being mean because he can't let himself be nice since he is a married man? Is he upset that she took off and he ended up marrying someone else? I really doubt he would have asked her to marry him right out of school, but I could be wrong. I must not be perceptive enough. I don't get what's up with Snape. I'd be thinking about Draco if I were Hermione. I bet he wouldn't be dull. And I doubt he would mind if she had a career. The parents would be the only thing I would be worried about. Her muggle parents are not from old money. It could be quite awkward. But I don't think any of the muggle born girls there are from old money. His parents have had more time to prepare for and resign themselves to this type of match than Hermione's parents. Has she even told them? I think his parents would be happy to have a war hero and such a powerful witch as a member of their family. It would be good for their social standing. Poor Neville. Maybe Luna will come back to town. What happens if there ends up being an odd number of eligible people who need to get married. Will the one who doesn't get an offer or make an offer get to wait until next year?
Response from little beloved (Author of Denial)
I think Snape's problem with her is twofold. First, it's the fact that she knows about Lily; she knows about his memories, and he hates that. Second, I think on some level that he doesn't even realise, he is drawn to her. He admires her intellect and her bravery, and let's face it, he has a taste for clever, fesity Muggle-borns. :) And you're right - Draco might make a very interesting match, but I'm not sure Hermione could cope with his parents! Thank you so much for your review,

Well, under the conditions as I know them at this point, I think Hermione should be at least a little bit flattered that Draco approached her right away. I think she might be able to be happy with him if she allowed herself to. He is funny, smart and good looking. I would be cautious about his parents. But in six weeks that aspect of the relationship could be explored. Now, regarding the fact that we want her to end up with Severus and he is happily married, I am dying to know if you work that out. Why was he so snarky with her. Unconscious sexual tension perhaps? If I were Hermione, this would not have been a very good start. Might be a good night for girl talk or snuggling up with a good book and multiple icy tequila and fruit in rock salted stemware concoctions, as long as she has the ingredients for hangover potion handy. I haven't met the other candidates but there is always Neville. He'd be solid and she could live at Hogwarts, but Draco would be a lot more fun, I think. At least she doesn't have to decide right away. This would make a great reality show, only I never watch them and abhor them, really. They are so seedy and base. No one ever comes off with their best side showing. I'm hooked on this story and cannot see what's coming at all. Great plot you have here and I love marriage law stories.

Thank you so much! Yes, at this point, Hermione has a few options open to her, and the only real fly in the ointment is Severus, who at this point, doesn't really even understand his won reasons for being so irritated by her! And LOL, yes, I think after her meeting she probably needed a few nice cocktails. :) I'm delighted you're enjoying it so far - I'll have chapter 8 up tomorrow. LB x

Well, things certainly SEEM to be going well for Hermione & Theo, but we all know she's destined to be with Severus! Perhaps a long & winding road ahead? I'm really enjoying revisiting this story!!!

Poor Hermione - she really is in a pickle! It's good to understand a little better why Severus is so snarky toward Hermione right now. But he should know that just telling her she & Theo are completely incompatable without any real explanation will not deter her and will just make her dig her heels in!

Indeed - he's been so mean to her as Liaison, that there's not a hope she'll listen to him now! LB x

OMG! I'm completely enthralled, but I never had the pleasure of reading this story the first time around, and I hardly ever read unfinished stories in case they have a sad ending. I can't bear sad endings. I will try to keep a stiff upper lip and read on. The writing is beautifully done and I know I am in for a literary treat. However, I best deal with sad endings if I have been told in advance and prepare myself. If at all possible, let me know if this ends badly for Severus or Hermione so that I can deal with the tears in advance. You have left no bio, so I know nothing else about you than your stories. I always wondered where you came up with your pen name. Would one be a Fool to ask, little beloved? I just finished reading Denial. I was happy to know that everything turned out alright. Just a little bit teary eyed at their good bye. I take stories too much to heart. I wish I was less sensitive. It seriously restricts my choices of literature and cinema. But these stories are where I go to escape the sadness of real life. Here, magic can fix anything.

Thank you for such an interesting review, and it is lovely to meet you! :) First of all, I will send you a brief PM about the ending of Denial, so you will know how to prepare! Second, I really must get around to writing a bio! But in the meantime, the reason for my penname is, quite simply, that it's derived from my real name. I'm Irish, and my name is an old Irish one (unusual even for Ireland). It is Caireann (pronounced Kyrin) and is an Irish version of Carina, which means 'little beloved'. So there you go! And finally, I think it is rather lovely that you are a sensitive reader. It's what fiction is all about. :) Enjoy Denial! LB x

Hm... wonder how Theo will react to news about her interview. Will he be supportive, or will he see a potential job as potentially interfering with his fun?

Well, Theo is all about Theo, so I can't imagine it will go too well, unless Hermione is willing to compromise. :) Thanks for your review! LB x
