I have a few things to say, so let’s number them. I’m in a numbering kind of mood. :)   Hmmm ... me too.  :)1)I hate warnings at the beginning of chapters.  I understand why they are there, I guess, but I too think it can ruin a chapter.  Perhaps someday they will be blanked out so you can read them only if you want to.  There isn't anything I am unwilling to read, and perhaps if there was I would be more sensitive.2)I loved Ring of Fire, so I sincerely hope someone has it.  Denial disappearing is what made me start saving my favorites to disk, so thanks for that, I suppose, lol.  I am certainly glad you are back.3)Glad you are feeling better!4)It always amazes me that authors who are so talented still wibble about posting their stories.  If I had an ounce of the gift for writing that some of you do, I would be thrilled.  But, I have found that is the sign of a good author.  Once you start thinking your stories are fantastic, perhaps you get too comfortable and they lose something.5)Don't give up!  I cannot imagine facing constant rejection, but remember that so many famous authors were not picked up right away.  And now, six chapters into my review, I shall discuss the chapter.I was pleasantly surprised, because while the errant hairclip being the catalyst for things has been forever burned into my memory, I had it in my head that it happened a bit later in the story.  I don't know why I thought that, but I did.  i think the fortunate thing for them at this point is that they are on the same page.  They were both so filled with desire for one another that they couldn't control themselves in the lab, and they both feel disappointed for the way things went.  Makes it easier that it is not one sided.  Still, things aren't going to be easy for them.I am glad that she feels no guilt for Theo.  Adultery is wrong, full stop.  But, he started it, and it isn't as if their marriage has any chance at this point, so no need to feel bad.  It is unfair that they had to get married in the first place.  As for Cordelia, I can understand Hermione's guilt, however, she has no regard for Severus' marriage, so I think Hermione can get away with feeling guilt-free here as well.  Not that she will, but it would be allowed.And he leads her off to "do this thing properly."  Very nice save, Severus.  And all is right in the world ... for now.This is the point in the story where, while I remember where we end up, I can't entirely remember how we get there.  So it will all be new to me, lol.  I hope you continue to update regularly because I am so enjoying the rediscovery of Denial.

The single best chapter of the single best fan fiction I've ever read.  It has made my year to have this story back again, having read and loved it the first time round!

I remember that one-shot. Unfortunately, I don't have a copy. This was always my favorite chapter of the story, since Severus and Hermione finally acknowledge their feelings for each other, and consumate that relationship. Don't worry about the publisher hunt. Finding a publisher is very difficult, because everyone has different tastes in stories. That doesn't mean your work isn't good enough. And fantasies are probably the hardest books to sell. Just hang in there.

You hit the nail on the head!  This is another awesome chapter, I even got a bit choked up toward the end!  Keep them oming.

Good things come to those who wait, both for you LB, and for Severus and Hermione in this story. I myself keep hitting a rejection wall in my chosen career path, but I do believe something is just around the corner just got to find which corner. Chapter was brilliant, I eagerly wait ofto hear about 'doing it properly'

I can only apologise for not reviewing this fabulous story sooner. This is my first time reading Denial and I love it. I eagerly anticipate the days where there's an email in my inbox to tell me there's an update and I cannot read the chapter quick enough. I have loved the whole story so far, and this chapter was so good I just had to get my lazy self into gear and review. It's fantastic. And everything I hoped for! Thank you for an amazing story, and the perfect chapter - entirely realistic and totally right for their pairing in this story. Much love!

I think you did a fan-damn-tastic job on this chapter. You treated the subject of adultery with GREAT respect, and made it clear that Hermione isn't taking this lightly. And I am with Hermione, hoping that Theo's ring is burning his damn finger off. LOLOh -- and the smut was lovely, and I really liked how even though it was a fabulous shat, it hadn't lived up to her expecations. That's LIFE!

LB your writing in this chapter was outstanding, you need not worry I was intralled by the whole chapter.  Sometimes we have to take the happiness we find where we can find it, and someone will always gets hurt.  Your sensative wrighting showed some things can not be avoided but faced and then we make our own decisions about what to do.  Severus & Hermione have made their choice based on many facters, I dont think they set out to hurt anybody but everyone needs someone they can count  on to be their for them, withch neither have had in their married life.  The need for human contact is strong in all of us, and sometimes we have to find it where we can.

I have never before reviewed a story, but in this case, I really need to tell you that I immensely enjoyed your story thus far! You are an incredibly talented, descriptive author and I would like to thank you a lot for posting this story again. I can imagine that you must have had very mixed feelings about it, but you certainly made me (and others as well) very happy.Can´t wait what happens next!

Dear little beloved. I LOVED this chapter when I read it for the first time years ago, and I LOVE it now. The tension between Severus and Hermione is so real and tangible, and your description of their "coming-together" is beautiful. I am no fan of adultery, either, but as you say, there are extenuating circumstances in this story which justify it. I am sorry to hear about your novel, but please do not lose your confidence. You are a wonderful writer, and the reason I know that you are is this: When you took down this story from the site I searched high and low for it on other sites. I couldn't find it, and cursed myself for not having saved it, somehow. In the time that has passed I have found myself thinking of the story over and over again, picturing different characters in my head and reliving certain pasages in my imagination. Always thinking how great it would be if I could read it again. I have NEVER missed reading a story as much as I have missed reading Denial. And that includes nonfanfiction, too. To me, you are a great writer. Please keep writing. Please.

This was a wonderful chapter that brought out a depth in each of the characters.  I'm not a fan of adultery fics either but the way this story is written you understand why it is this way.  I would like to read Theo's story and hope that someone who read it before has a copy of it.  He deserves the pain of his ring burning.You are an author who knows how to put a story together.  Keep writing and one day your break will come.  To make it worth it in the end you have to fight hard in the beginning.

Like everyone else, my favourite scene is the garden dance, the ice may be thin, but it will be all the sweeter when it breaks.   

Hermione is developing strong feelings for Severus, I wonder if Theo's ring is, not burning,but maybe tingling.

 Severus may be able to hide his feelings, but Hermione wears her heart on her sleeve, she can't hide it, and how will Cordelia react to her son's wife being in love with her husband, she may feel differently when the boot is on the other foot. The Ball is shaping up to be quite an event, in the words of Bette Davis " fasten your seatbelts, it's going to be a bumpy night"  

What a romantic chapter... the exquisite rooftop garden, the faint strains of beautiful music floating off in the distance, the private dance, a champagn toast. Plug these parameters into an Arithmantic equation and it would = True Love! Or at least wild and passionate True Love Making! Too bad she was asleep when he returned. I love the line that his intoxication was not due to the alcohol. And I love this chapter even more the second time around. I echo HBAR's sentiments, this is one of my favorites.Feel better!

Secondly, what a lovely chapter.  I'm glad she got to revisit the wedding dress again since Severus liked it so.

The Ball was a success in more ways then one could imagine.  They where playing a dangerus game for sure, but I don't think either will regret it.
