I knew something went wrong with the spell giving life to the portrait. Let's just hope that if she can walk out of the portrait maybe there's a way he can too...

Nope, sunny. Definitely unexpected.
The way RL is going for me these days, I'd relish a tree of my own and the time to sit under it with a virtual STACK of books - that would indeed be heaven.... and if a certain dark eyed gentleman happened to join me - well, bliss would be complete....

Yes, finally! Maybe he'll like his new life once he's read a million books under that tree. Hopefully not that long, though.
This is exciting! First 6 weeks to paint this portrait, then 3? Spare no expense? What will this wizard come up with, I wonder?

Ay, sorry! There was a typo that I missed. It should be six weeks across the board. Thanks, though. :)
I very much like the set up for the story and will be bookmarking it. I'd like to point out though (and as a Historian it is, I guess, my duty.. ;) ) that Victorian as a descreption of a dress would place the garment in question in the 19th century as that was when Queen Victoria ruled. :)

I'm excited to see what Franco DiGregorio will create, as well! It's a nice range of pictures that Hermione has, and portrays Severus in more of a range of emotion than simply the eternal scowl... One wonders what the makers of the Chocolate Frog cards used to create their likeness of the old Headmaster, and if those sources would be of use to a portrait-maker also.I am eager to see what happens next, and if Phineas will finally be mollified!

I think that once the portrait is hung, Phineas will be mollified, but only in that matter. he seems a bit prickly if you ask me. :)

Good setup, and I'm definitely interested to see what happens next! Harry and Ron without noses would be quite amusing...it should happen, even if only briefly. I'm sure an unusually-created portriat like Severus' will be would be able to oblige, if Hermione's feeling too soft-hearted for it!
