Hello There! My name is Karen and I live right outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Way back in 2006 when we needed to put "Half-Blood Prince" spoilers on our fics... when DH didn't even exist... I created my profile here on The Petulant Poetess.
Falling in love with the SS/HG Ship changed my life and allowed me to be in a position to save the site from extinction in 2019. I'm so grateful to be here and to continue to see the wonderful fic here live on for as long as possible.

Those student samples have to be useful for something, right? :)
I can't wait until Hermione proves Harry wrong. She is brilliant, why can't Harry just accept that?
GAH! SO DANG CUTE AND BEAUTIFUL! Thank you soooo much for sharing. Loved it. :)

Thank you so much for this review! It really makes me so happy that people still read this and are enjoying it. This story was written with love for a good friend of mine and still holds a very special place in my heart. Thanks again! ~ Brena
Of course she would use a viable potion. Anything else would be unviable. *grin* No, I did catch that line in the body of the chapter, but perhaps others might not have. Keep up the good words. ^_^
I think this time around reading, she's sounding sensible. It's hard not to have anyone truly understand your motives. Obviously, Harry doesn't, and I think he's not really being an understanding friend here.
ooh, excellent. I can't wait for more!

Great start on this story. I can see Hermione becoming a Potions Mistress to carry on Severus' memory. Very funny that Bloody Dunderheads is the password for the journal. Looking forward to the next chapter.

Great start! I especially liked Hermione's reaction to Dumbledore's portrait - Dumbledore indeed set up Snape for desolation and torture. Looking forward to more.

! Thank you so much for the review! I have to confess that Hermione's feelings towards the painted Dumbledore mirror my own. So much easier to write something in first person when you're speaking from the heart. <3 I hope you continue to enjoy!Much Love,~ Brena
What a unique and intriguing beginning. I confess I especially look forward to the 'she finds evidence that he's still alive' part most of all. :)

An interesting start. I've not heard of the album or the group, but the example you placed at the beginning of this chapter was good. I will be waiting for the next chapter. ^_^

! Thank you so much for the review! I'm surprised you've never heard of them, but I hope you enjoy the references. And maybe after a few chapters you might be inclined to check them out. :-) I knew debjunk was really into them, and the lyrical content of the entire album was very inspiring. I hope you continue to enjoy my tale. Updates should be coming weekly. Much Love, ~ Brena
Bravo! I can't get one story off the ground. I'm so intimidated and don't know how to start. It is wonderful that you were able to do this as a new mum. I am an IBCLC and have been helping new moms and babies for the last 26 years because it was so hard for me that I felt no one should have to do this alone. I even dream breastfeeding in all of my dreams. No matter what kind of James Bond senerio is going on, somewhere there is a baby that needs to be fed that I have to help. Thank you for a little relief from reality! You SS/HG authors make my world worth living in!
Don't have time for much of a review. I need to get to the next chapter. Thanks!
It sure felt like longer than a week and a half. She will only be able to bring him back if she is his soulmate or true love so, if she shouldn't bring him back to the nightmare that is life and ruin his dreams, she wouldn't be able to. OK. Let's do it.
Harry had no business spying on Hermione! What. An. Ass. I don't care if he was worried. Even if he just asked Neville to keep an eye out to make sure Hermione was OK, he had no business forcing Neville to tell him he couldn't talk to Harry because he'd taken a Wizard's oath. Kind of cowardly of Neville to tell Harry that. He could have just told Harry that it was none of his business, that Hermione was his friend too and what they talked about was their business and if she wanted Harry to know more she would tell him herself. He could have even told Harry, "Maybe if you would listen to her instead of judging her she would talk to you more." That's what Hermione would have done. She wouldn't have hidden behind a, "I can't tell you Harry! She made me take a wizard's oath!" Now that I think about it, I'm not sure Neville would have told Harry she had made him take an oath. Neville isn't a coward. I kind of think Neville would have told Harry off for not listening to her without judging her. I would be furious with Neville if I was Hermione right now. I would be telling him, "So, you acted like you were my concerned friend when you were really just spying for Harry!""... Brilliant. Scary, but brilliant." Ron's words.

For the last few hours I have been following along as you have read and responded to the chapters thus far. I can't tell you how much it means to me that now, four years later, someone is still out there reading this... my labor of love. I haven't written any fic since I penned this tale for my dearest friend Deb. It was after submitting this work to the exchange mods that I found out I was pregnant. My son, Connor, is going to be 4 in December and has made writing for fun a bit of a challenge.I can't thank you enough for what you have given me tonight by your kind words and involvement with this story. It truly means the world to me. I hope you continue to enjoy it.Much Love,~BrenaMarie
Well, isn't the Juliette curse convenient! Surely Severus did not purge all of his memories of Lily or Harry would have been in that pensieve a lot longer. He only needed to show Harry some of his memories that would let Harry know that Severus was in love with his mom. I'm sure Severus has memories he didn't give Harry. Now to the issue of soulmates. Lily can't be Severus' soulmate so maybe Hermione is! If Lily was his soulmate she wouldn't have fallen in love with James Potter. If Hermione is his soulmate, it would make sense that he would be coming to her in her dreams. If unconditional love can transend time and space, there isn't any reason why Severus can't come to Hermione in her dreams. The only question I have is, why can't he just tell her straight up what she needs to do; why does she have to figure it out? Is it so that she will realize she is his soulmate before she wakes him? If it wasn't for the fact that is seems like Severus is trying to communicate to her in her dreams that he wants help, I would say he is happy and leave him alone. Love the story!!!!!
I have no problem with Hermione taking the potion. We are talking about Hermione Granger The Brightest Witch of Her Age. Also, isn't she Potion's Mistress Granger? I have complete confedence that Hermione would know a viable potion from a bad one. I was even thinking before I got the this part of the story that maybe she should take one of those potions. Regarding Harry: if she has already had this discussion with Harry and he didn't believe her before, why would she expect him to be open to the idea that Snape isn't dead without some evidence? Also, I think that Severus Snape wouldn't want Harry Potter reading his journal and that it would be disrespectful to let Harry know about or read it. If I was Hermione and wanted to bounce ideas off of an open minded person, I would seek out Luna Lovegood. Or, she can tell Dumbledore's portrait what at total bastard he was then ask him about it. She'd have to be able to keep the other portraits from hearing her though.
If Severus was successful at putting himself in a state of stasis where he would live with Lily in his imagination, who has the right to tell him he has to come back to this world of pain. This was his plan. He has finally reached his destination of choice. I think she should leave him alone unless she can show that he is in danger or is suffering. He has paid all of his debts. Hermione's guilt isn't his problem, it's hers. This was his way of choosing what to do in eternity. This is his version of salvation. This is his way of avoiding Hell. What happens if she wakes him and then when he dies naturally he goes to Hell as he'd feared? I totally understand Hermione's guilt. She is suffering. But will she make the selfless or the selfish choice? What a facinating story!!!
I loved this Severus, so sure of himself and a bit snarky but loving towards Hermione. And Hermione as a teacher...even though she was stressed she was still patient with her class.Great story! Thank you so much.

Loved how you brought all the clues together! ^_^
I liked it, though I thought there would be more involved between when Hermione going out he was alive, and when he woke. That part seemed a but abrupt and too easy to me, but again, I liked it a lot overall. :)
