Hello There! My name is Karen and I live right outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Way back in 2006 when we needed to put "Half-Blood Prince" spoilers on our fics... when DH didn't even exist... I created my profile here on The Petulant Poetess.
Falling in love with the SS/HG Ship changed my life and allowed me to be in a position to save the site from extinction in 2019. I'm so grateful to be here and to continue to see the wonderful fic here live on for as long as possible.

This is a great story that got me hooked! I wonder what else is on that wonderful Journal...
Interesting story, looking forward to reading more of it.
Wow, what a wonderful ending to this chapter, can't wait for the next update.

Thank you so much! Writing the journal entries were one of my favourite parts! I hope you continue to enjoy! Much Love ~ Brena
This is very well written, and I can't wait to read more.
I can definitely see her having feelings of guilt. She's getting closer.

<3 <3 <3 <3 I'm so glad you didn't think I was insane.
A variant of the Draught of Living Death perhaps? Is that what he was looking for? It does make sense. Did Hermione learn the juicing technique from the HBP's textbook in Sixth Year? It's all I can think of since Severus was not teaching Potions that year and I can't see Slughorn exerting himself. ^_^

Hey there,

! I'm not giving anything away. You bought the ticket, you've got to take the ride. *snerk* As far as the bean juicing is concerned, yes, Hermione got that from the HBP's text book. It's because of this technique that Harry won the Felix instead of her. Good point about Slughorn, LOL!Thank you so much for reading, and I hope you continue to enjoy the ride.Much Love,~ Brena
Very moving, and I look for forward to the progression of the plot. Your words are clean, and precise with an extraordinary descriptive value. I patientlyawait your next addition.Thank you for sharing~

Powerful chapter! Snape's thoughts on what he presumed was his last day were very poignant.

, thank you so much for reading/reviewing! When I wrote that entry I kept picturing the scene from HBP the movie, where Snape was standing in the astronomy tower, just staring out onto the grounds. It was so solem and... Snape like. It really helped drive the mood of the entry. I'm so happy to hear you're enjoying my tale and I hope you continue to enjoy it! Much Love ~ Brena
very good. I look forward to reading more!

Hey Mimmom! Thanks for hangin in with me. I'm so happy to see you're still reading! Thanks for the review and I hope you keep enjoying it!!! <3
I can see Neville as all well-meaning and enthusiastic... and as boring as watching paint dry when he waxes poetic about Herbology. :)
Response from BrenaMarie (Author of Fallen)
OMG, that's exactly the mental picture I have of him. I'm so glad you understand!!!! <3
What, none of their teachers in the last five years have called them dunderheads? Obviously Snape was a bad influence on Hermione! :D
Response from BrenaMarie (Author of Fallen)
Hey Sunny, it wasn't just the word that released the secret hidey-hole. In my mind when I wrote this scene, I pictured a classic *headdesk* moment. It was the combination of "Dunderheads" with hitting the desk in that spot together which released the journal. I'm sorry that wasn't particularly clear, but it is how I imagined it happened. Thank you so much for reading! I hope you continue to enjoy! Much Love ~ Brena

Oh yeah! Got it now! :)
Shame on me for opening this up during work. It was still riveting, even with breaks in between.
Response from BrenaMarie (Author of Fallen)
Well, I won't hold it against you. Although, I do think it's funny that you're reading it again for like the 3rd time. I'm flattered.<3 <3 <3
I like the direction this is going. It's interesting to see the journal entries from important times in the Harry Potter universal timeline. I hope this project will be completed eventually, as I'd like to see what happens down the road.

! Thanks for the review! I'm glowing. I hope you continue to enjoy! <3 Brena
ooh, I like it. Poor Snape. When I read the last book I read it very quickly over a weekend and cried quite a bit. My daughter has been teasing me a bit this week remembering that I came to the dinner table crying. Except I think I'd have been fine if my husband hadn't started talking to me about the book. For some reason finding out about the form of Snape's patronus just messed me up. I knew it was coming. I knew from the moment I read the chapter in book five about Snape's worst memory. Anyway, I look forward to reading more of your story.
Response from BrenaMarie (Author of Fallen)
Awwwwww! *hugs* Reading about his death made me more angry than depressed. I have to admin I needed coddling from my husband after Snape killed Dumbledore. I cried for a good half hour after my first read. "How could he?!?," I sobbed. "I trusted him!" Of course later on after the inital shock wore off, I realized there must have been a plan. Anyways, thank you so much for reading! I hope you continue to enjoy the subsequent chapters. Much Love, ~ Brena
Response from mimmom (Reviewer)
I was completely in denial after Snape killed Dumbledore. My brain just flat out refused to allow Snape being a bad guy to enter in any way. Of course I was insane waiting for the last book. I had fun arguments with friends who swore he was just pure evil all along. But I was completely confident in my position that he was friend and not foe. I'm usually not that bull-headed. LOL.
Aha, a little Shakespearian clue! :)
Response from BrenaMarie (Author of Fallen)
Yep. It's tragic and clue-like. Thanks for reading!!!!! <3
This is a lovely story and I think you managed to get your vision on the page.
This long after a story has been completed I hesitate to mention this but Snape and Hermione being in love seemed a little rushed to me. I know she was falling in love via the journal but I think it would have worked better for me if more dream interactions had been shown -- not just searching for the cure but glimpses of the life Snape wants.
Author's Response: Thank you so much for taking the time to review my tale. It has been almost 9 years since I created this fic and I absolutely can see your point. There were multiple factors involved with how the story progressed and where we ended up in the end. Thanks again for reading! ~ Brena
Lovely story ! Thank you for the great reading piece !
Author's Response: Thank you so much for reading & reaching out! It means so much to me that this story is still generating enjoyment for the fandom! <3
I loved this story, it was fluffy but with a decent amount of angst too. The first few chapters in particular were great, but I found Severus to be a little OOC once he woke up. I wanted there to be a bit more angst/drama/sexual tension when he awoke, but that's probably just me! Something else that bothered me (and quite likely, ONLY me!) was your many Americanisms. They didn't drive me mad, I just kept noticing them and they'd take me out of the story a bit. If you ever want/need a Brit-picker, just drop me a line! I'm going to go read the rest of your focus now, apologies for the sheer length of this review! x
Author's Response: Good Evening FabGabW ~ Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this review with your thoughts. Even though you had some trouble with it, I'm glad you enjoyed it anyway. It's been 7 years since I've written and at this point, I'm not sure if I'll ever get back into it. But, if I do, I'll make sure to keep your offer in mind. Kind Regards ~ Brena
okay - i just sucked this up in one sitting... :) Hop to it!!! LOL
Officially alive and kicking for less than a day, and already the man has plans in the works. You've got to love him, don't you? I think after all of that, I would want to go outside as well. I'm glad Hermione was able to comply with his wishes. I think they have a bright future ahead of them and I am anxious to see how this wraps up for them.
You should just get your chapter up now. Not for my personal reasons, I'm thinking only of you :) I don't know if you have kids yet, but if this is your first, you will be so consumed from everything baby -good and bad- that you will forget all about us for awhile. Congrats and good luck with everything!
I can never think highly of a woman who traded a PRINCE for a mere Potter *sniffs*. Now the sleeper has literally awakened, he can kick ol' Lils memry to the curb and ride into the sunset with his TRUE LOVE , Prof. Granger!!
w00t!! frabjous, frabjous day!! so romantic. hot cocoa and marshmallows for you :)
