I'd love to see him confessing his feelings to Poppy. The woman's advices would maybe help him to find the strengh to tell Hermione oh his undying love for her.

Severus just blew off the one person he needs to talk to the most. Sad, but typical. And he also succeeded in further convincing Hermione that he completely hates her. Talk about being his own worst enemy!

Sometimes I want to strangle both of them, but since "pride goeth before a fall," perhaps both of them, being the prideful folk that the are, will soon "fall" in love all over again... although I don't' think they ever fell out of love to begin with!This is a wonderful story, Angela, and I can't help begging for another update soon! (I really do try not to put pressure on an author to update quickly, but I like this so much I've had to make an exception. LOL!)Beth

"She missed those times with him a lot." It would have suited me just fine if Severus had chosen to take a peek into her mind, but I think she would have been upset if he had.
I almost jumped for joy when he told her that perhaps it would be a good idea to take a leave of absence from her job and that his time for assisting her would be limited.... "to afternoons, nights that I am not on patrol and weekends." Yes! And with any luck, Hermione will stay at Hogwarts for the duration of their search for her tormentor.
But then she had to kick up a little storm by telling him that she thought he was still behaving like a prick, left his office, AND allowed the door to slam shut after she walked out. Not good.
I can't tell you how much I love this story. It's got everything that a great and engaging tale should have: tension, latent passions, hurt feelings, confusion, an underlying certainty that a great attraction between the two of them still exists, and an evil ne'er-do-well who is determined to take revenge on one of the protagonists.Very nicely done!!!Beth

Lol, interesting thought, but I think he has a lot of respect for her mind, so he would never :) And certainly spending more time together would help them on the way to perhaps starting again! 'You had better explain when she comes, Severus Snape.' So, Severus and Hermione were lovers as well as friends before she married Michael. What on earth could have caused her to abandon her relationship with Severus to marry that blond-haired fellow who can't be bothered to pay his bills. Something just ain't right about this...And now that Minerva knows Hermione is on the way to Hogwarts, she wants an explanation when she arrives. Explain? Explain what? Another tantalizing chapter filled with new information and more questions. Well done!Beth

Yay, Angela! I've finally caught up on enough things that I could start another WIP!!!This first chapter is so good! And as usual with your writing, you got me hooked right away! Now I wonder who the mystery woman is who is out to smear our Miss Granger's good name... so many names come to mind, but I will content myself with reading this delicious story and just keep my own counsel for now.Good job!

haha that's spot on Severus Snape. He knows what a good thing he has but he's not going to reveal any emotional connection because that opens him up to get hurt more. Poor guy. I hope some sense gets knocked into both of them :)

So he is in in love with her more a decade and never said a word, even after she told him. WHAT.A.PRICK !! On that regard she's absolutely right. I hope he'll find the courage to tell her this time.I can't wait hte next: the two of them, alone, in a freezing castle...

Severus you damn fool, why didnt't he tell her when she said she loved you, but thats Severus, plus we wouldn't have this wonderful story haha. By the looks of things he is going to be a right 'prick' using Hermione's words, trying to keep his emotions hidden. Great update, can't wait for more.

What do I think? I love it! You know what they say? Love and hate aren't that far apart. That's some pretty cold treatment Severus was giving Hermione. I think he still cares for her. Hmm?

I knew there had to be a really good reason for Hermione to leave Severus... him being unable to say that he loved her back certainly qualifies. No self-respecting woman is going to want to spend her life with a lover who isn't able to return her feelings or offer her much of a future. At the end of last chapter, Minerva mentioned that Severus had better "explain" when she comes, I look forward to reading Severus' side of things. Superb update as always, BTW. :-)
