Wonderful follow up! I hope one day your Muse will sing the 3rd part. However I know as a fellow writer the Muses are uppity and sing at their whim not the scribe' s . Wishing you luck and a cooperative Muse. Mine tends to be in semi-permanent sulk mode anymore. The stubborn cow.

I liked the scene in the chamber. Getting the strength to destroy the Horcrux somewhat from Snape was kind of fun to see. And now they're free of the Fiendfyre.

Thank you! She couldn't bear to have Ron know just how much she cared about Snape--even if Ron has worked out that Snape is on the side of the angels, there's a little too much explaining that would have to happen. :) Thanks for the review!
OMG OMG. Being a spy sucks! Very exciting chapter!! I'm on to the next one.
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
Doesn't it just? I'm glad you liked the chapter, thanks for the review!
I really love reading Hermione's perspective and the amazing attention you've given to detail in following DH. I look forward to seeing how your version is different from JKR's at the end.
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
Differences? Who, me? *looks innocent.I'm not giving away the ending until we get there!! :)Thanks for the lovely review; I'm really glad that you're still enjoying the story.
oh wow. i know that this much of your story was basically from the book, but damn! please update soon!i dont normally ask that but i couldnt help it this time :)
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
*grins* I'm glad that you're enjoying it! The next update isn't too far off.
I was so upset when Hermione put the anti-venom in Harry's drink. Now what is she going to save Snape with? I hope he gets her message and carries some anti-venom of his own! I don't want him to die. Please!I love how you described Hermione's and Ron's kiss. It was perfect. Not in love with each other, just love. And Ron's turning out to be a great young man. He is thinking for himself and NOT holding back the trio. Thank goodness you showed that. I don't hate Ron and I think too many people brush him aside as just the comic relief. The Room of Requirements scene was great. Very suspensful. I was hoping they would save Malfoy, even though I already knew they would. I still feared he might die. Nice job.I look forward to more, as always.

Unlike us, Hermione doesn't know what's ahead: if she did, she wouldn't have bothered dosing Harry and she certainly would have saved it for Severus. I guess you'll just have to wait and see what happens!I'm really glad you liked Hermione and Ron's kiss--and you read it with great perceptiveness. :)Thanks for the lovely review.
Great interweaving with canon, yet again! :)
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
Thank you very much!
I love your "expanding" upon canon.I love the way you weave your version seamlessly "with" canon.And...I wouldn't mind one single bit if you do a TOTAL departure from canon in the scene with the Shrieking Shack.Phoenix "tears". Hmmm. For healing, or for sorrow? Not long to find out, now...
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
Thanks for the lovely review! :) I get a feeling that you're not the only one who wouldn't mind a happy ending for Snape. You should find out what the title, "Phoenix Tears," refers to in chapter 23.Thanks again!
I loved getting to see the chamber part from Ron and Hermione's perspective. And, you are so good to Ron. You write him in such a positive way and I love that. We are getting down to the nitty-gritty now, and I can't wait to see what happens. I don't recall if you've said whether our tale ends with the end of DH or if it continues beyond. Either way, looking forward to more soon!
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
Thanks for such a lovely review! Ron does great things during DH--we just didn't get to see them as readers of the original. :) The end is nigh, that's for sure--five chapters to go, if I'm not wrong! Thanks again for the review.
I really like Ron - he's so living up to his canon potential as a mature level-headed strategic and warm young man! Loved the glimpses of Snape in this chapter - that Hermione didn't want to let Ron see Snape in the Horcrux was a very nice impetus to help her destroy it. Hope she does manage to meet up with him before they all rush out to the Shrieking Shack! And I reckon it's quite amusing how Hermione's thoughts mirror the reader's thoughts when reading canon - such as did Voldemort REALLY think that no one would ever get in there?
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
Thank you very much! Ron has a lot of good points. I think that he, like Ginny, suffers greatly from the exclusive focus of the canonical Harry-centric POV: most of the best things he does happen off-screen. And, yes, I was with Hermione on this one, how could Voldemort possibly have believed no-one else could get in?That way madness lies! I'm really glad that you like the story; thanks for the review.
Great chapter. But what is Hermione going to do!
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
Hmmm. I guess we'll have to wait and see!! *grins widely* thanks for the review!
Such a paradox--I wish that the chapters would come faster, and yet I hate that the story is drawing to a close soon! The scene where Hermione destroys the Cup was fabulous. Fortunately, her desire to keep her regard for Snape a secret was what allowed her to break free of the insidious whispers of the Horcrux. It would have been better leaving the visions to Harry and Ron, but as Ron himself said, it doesn't really know her.Waiting for the next chapter!
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
Aw, thanks! I'm glad that you're enjoying it still! :)In this case, Ron speaks from experience, right??The next chapter won't be too long, I hope.
Another great chapter!! You continue to amaze me with the way you make it fit every time!
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
Thank you very much! I'm really glad that you liked it. :) Thanks for the review.
So happy for the update, but so confused! Hermione loves Ron, but Snape was appearing from the horcrux.... ooh, you teasing dreadful authoress!
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
Of course she loves Ron! She's always loved Ron, just like she's always loved Harry. I guess the only difference is the way she feels about Snape? Hmm. You'll have to wait and see about the answer to that one! :) Thanks for the review.
Chilling chapter, a lot of ground was covered here. Soon we will be at the end of the story and I have to admit I'm enjoying this one much more than Deathly Hallows.
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
Thank you! Thank you! I'm thrilled that you're enjoying it more than the original DH! *hooray*
Great chapter! It's coming to the end now...at least in canon. Can't wait to see what you do with the rest! :)
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
Thank you very much! The end is fast approaching, indeed. :) The next chapter should be up very soon.
I absolutely LOVE your re-write (from JKR's version) of this scene. I had thought the torture scene should have been told in more detail, but understood why, in a children's tale, JKR would not have wanted to do that. But your version is quite like getting to see the "deleted scenes" from the movies' companion DVDs. I think Snape will be so proud of how well Hermione held up under the torture, desperately worried about her current condtion, and seething with fury towards Bellatrix. I can't wait to see the description of all three. Please bring on the next soon!
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
Thank you very much! I'm glad that you liked it. I understand not depicting the torture in a childrens book, but I found the extent to which it was glossed over a little creepy, myself. I do think Snape is going to be more than a little upset! :) Thanks again, more soon.
Another great chapter, I can't wait for more!!
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
Thank you very much! The next chapter shouldn't be too long. :)
excellent! I can't wait to see what happens next!
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
Thank you very much! More should be up soon. :)
I loved your twist. Voldy and Severus are not going to be happy about hearing what has happend to Hermione. Great chapter, and so quick too!
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
Thank you very much! I think this chapter was just quicker through the queue than normal, rather than being written more quickly. :)You'll hear all about Severus' reaction in the next chapter. Thanks for the review.
Poor Hermione. I guess I never gave it much thought that she was tortured at Malfoy Manor. I mean, I knew she did, I just didn't think about the extent. I loved it. She was so strong. And I wonder what will happen with Draco and Joceyln...and Snape. I'm looking forward to more!
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
I have to say, that in the original, Harry seemed remarkably unconcerned by the fact that Hermione was tortured--Ron was the one going insane with worry. The whole of her perspective on the matter was glossed over rather quickly. You should find out what happened with Jocelyn and Draco and Snape in the next chapter. :) Thanks for the lovely review.
Even though I knew what was going to happen, I found your rendition of this scene to be gut-wrenchingly suspensful.Well done.
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
Thank you very much! It means a lot to know that you found it tense even though you knew the ending of the scene already! :)
Yeah, poor Draco, caught in all this stuff he doesn't want to be a part of. At least he helped. And finally they're outta there.
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
Draco was very reluctant to identify the trio, just as he was reluctant to actually kill Dumbledore. Poor boy. Thanks for the review!
Oh wow that was a quick update! Very action-filled chapter. I wonder if Draco went to call Snape in his trip down to the dungeon? And whether Draco's missing Fenrir was on purpose or if some invisible person in the room made him miss? Bellatrix's madness is terrifying.
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
It was quick, wasn't it? :)I meant that Draco missed Harry, and hit Fenrir instead--but perhaps that's what you meant, too. Bellatrix is completely insane, no doubt about that.Thank you for the review.
Response from ilsa (Reviewer)
LOL yes I realise that's what you meant. Draco missed on purpose of course. I think I was a bit muddled because I was reading during class (!) and my brain somehow muddled it up with another story. But I've read the chapter again - yes I love your story so much I reread it!
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
Reading during class? LOL The teacher in me is horrified, but the author is kind of please.
Response from ilsa (Reviewer)
Oh dear you are a teacher? In my defence, I was prepared and following the lesson LOL.
Oh, dear! I had momentarily forgotten about Jocelyn. That is too bad she had to see what was going on. There is a part in here where Draco makes reference to Hermione and Snape. You'll have to refresh my memory... what exactly was the nature of their relationship to the outside world? I'd love to go back and reread the first story to remember for myself, but no time to do so :( This was great as always. Can't wait for more!
Response from grangerous (Author of Phoenix Tears (or, Hermione Granger and the DH))
Thank you for the review. I intended for Draco to reference back to the scene where Voldy offered Severus a Mudblood of his own and Severus asked for Hermione--to be delivered to him unharmed. It should all become clear in the next chapter, so don't worry if it's all a bit vague! :)Thanks again.
