OMG!  This chapter was amazing.  You had so many awesome things happening here.  It was so sad to hear that Draco and his friends had to die to and how Severus was remembering little Draco.  I loved the Allison/Hermione show too.  And of course the revelation that Hermione is really distraught over the prospect of losing Professor Snape well that was just the icing on the cake!  Thanks for such an amazing chapter and I can't wait to read more!  Much Love ~ Brena

Hah, take that Severus, didn't expect Hermiones concern did you... Brilliant update as always! I loved that Hermione managed to shock Severus at the end of the chapter, he sure did his best to fluster her during the day, but most importantly he needs to know that someone cares about the sourly old potions master. (And I bet Dumbledore is shaking in silent laugther over the situation, that old buzybody will most surely have had an eye on Severus reaction:-))

I love the juxtaposition of Severus' two points of view, but especially where Hermione is concerned. The last section in particular makes him review his previous adult/Slytherin/teacher perspective of her. This is a really clever way of setting up an internal conflict which he will need to resolve - and allow for a reevaluation of Hermione, thus challenging and most likely changing the way he interacts with her. Great writing.

I also liked the way you wrote his rejection of LavLav (ah well she can always find comfort with Won-won) and his distress at the fate of his Slytherins. It was a very Canon Snape. Plus, the vagaries of adolescence re-visited (He He nice touch!)

Nice touch to have Severus Sorted into Gryffindor - as one the bravest wizard Harry ever knew (DH)... But why didn't Hermione shake hands with him? She was always defending Snape, so why be unkind to someone who merely looks like him (for all she knows)?

I love your new story. The third chapter ends on such a delicious thought. You certainly have a way with words.
