"A Murder of Crows" was my first foray into fan-fiction, and I treasure the lessons I've learned while posting it.
Reviews for A Murder of Crows
Could you be more cruel?? Even I don't know whom to trust... Please update again soon! Great chapter!!
What a wonderful chapter - I can't believe Severus at times, but I think I understand him a bit..
The drawing is beautiful - Hermione is so tall! I love the texture of the background...
Suspense, suspense! Thrilling update, thank you!
Our imaginations can be our best friends or our worst enemies. Snape must be playing double agent once again, feeding Lucius false info. I just can't think badly of him. But I most definitely can understand why Hermione will think the worst. He does his job well.
Oh my gosh. Cliffhanger of cliffhangers!
You have left me with the feeling of the ground dropping out from under me as surely as it must be for Hermione.
I sitll want to believe he is participating in some elaborate deception designed to protect her and expose Lucius. However, knowing that she knows the intimate technical details of her own brewing process at Arglist, I think she would recognize someone trying (or succeeding?) in replicating her work.
And why--why on earth or heaven--would he do that?
From the heights of joy (the book = marriage proposal) to the depths of anxiety and despair.
You have me tied in knots, my dear--please update SOON!
OH, OH, OH.....that was terrible! That is the worst cliffie ever. Please hurry so we can know what Hermione sees (he just has to be on her side and not on Lucius).

Eeep! I irritated my betas with this one, too, I'm afraid. Never fear ... Despite the flu, I am diligently at work on the next chapter. Thanks so much for the stars and review!

Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
I've always had fun imagining her parents. Isn't the art amazing? I honestly can't stop staring at the original! Thanks so much for your review!
Great chapter. I see Minerva has occupied some skills from Albus. But I wonder whether we'll hear of Hermione 'trying' to get Severus to make that speech? I must say the description of the monument sounds very fitting.
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
LOL - I think it'd be rather fun to at least try to coerce the speech from him. :-)So glad you enjoyed the chapter - thanks for the review! The next has just been posted ...
You're back! Yeh! I love this story, and am anxiously awaiting more.
Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)
I am back for good! I have just posted chapter 25, and I'm happy to report there are only seven chapters remaining. Woo hoo - light at the end of the tunnel. Thanks so much for reading and leaving reviews. I apologize for the posting gaps!
Response from snapesbeatrice (Reviewer)
No apology necessary. Waiting for this story is akin to waiting for creme brule as opposed to store-bought Jello. "grins" It's worth the wait.
You updated! And I'm addicted again. What a sweet and intriguing story. Thanks for writing and sharing -- i can't wait to read more.

Thank you so much for the review! I am determined to update this story more frequently. The next chapter has just posted, and I'm about to send another to beta. There is light at the end of the tunnel ...
wonderful update! i loved millie. thanks muchly
Wow, what a mystery, please, more??
“I wanted to know what it was to be loved like that.”
His expression darkened at her confession. A muscle near his eye twitched and his nostrils flared like a bull catching its first sight of a matador. “You will never know that,” he stated, “because you will never be Lily.”
WOW. You are one cold-hearted woman! I had to take a moment to breath after that line. Seriously! The whole scene at the end was absolutely fantastic...I was mesmerized! I hope they make up.......:)
oh no! I have finally come to the end of the finished chapters! let me just say that this story is engrossing and I cannot wait for more. I'm starting to feel a little nervous about severus--the things that lucius said, the way he wanted to meet the minister alone. the way he is a flawless liar. the thing he let slip about how hermione could have ruined something at arglist. there is something going on here. or am I just being paranoid? I don't know if he is reliable! but whatever. you are a great writer and I look forward to the next bit.
Wow. that example of Taking The High Road was spectacular. Snape has really kinda scared me so far--he is using his sex as a weapon. If Hermione wasn't attracted to him, she could totally accuse him of sexual harrassment. Assuming one could do such a thing at Hogwarts. But hey, this is fiction, and they're living in the same quarters, which is also rather dubious from a professional perspective.
liquid nitrogen! I thought it was dry ice, and was all ready to point out that CO2 is acidic. :)
*sigh* Their relationship seems so complicated sometimes (like it totally WOULD BE!)... and yet you are doing a great job at showing them working through things and learning how to handle one another. Really great chapter, sweets! I was so excited for an update!!!
*cheers* *applause* *wolf whistles* *tosses bouquets*
another perfectly wonderful installment. poor hermione, having to face the fact that her lover is a spectacular liar - what woman wouldn't find that unsettling? lol!
I've been waiting for more...this has been my favorite fanfic so far! I love how the fic is so believable and can capture the characters of cannon too.
When I was reading this chapter, the part where Hermione feels both amazed at the influence Severus has and grateful for his being on her side, all I could think of was that line from Jethro Tull's Bungle in the Jungle: "Is it surprising to have me at your shoulder? Thunder and lighting couldn't be bolder."
Great update!
Great chapter, although since it ended on a positive note...
I'm feeling anxiety and comfort all at once.
I still don't trust Ustinov. He seemed quite eager for Hermione to return to Arglist or give up the memories of her research. What if he is in Lucius' pocket, accepting money in return for favors? I'm afraid for Hermione and her parents.
But is proving to be a gentleman in providing support and security for his witch. What a man!
Excellent chapter.
I was so excited when I got the email about this story being updated. I have been trying to be patient.
Something about the minister of magic has me uneasy, he just didn't seem real upset about what Severus and Hermine were trying to tell him.
It was so cute when Hermione felt jealous of Millie, It made her seem so human.
I love that Severus wanted to go with Hermione to her parents house. I think he has grown much closer to Hermione than he thought he would. Sometimes they both still seem a little prickly toward each other. I hope that starts to smoothe out some but that they still keep their edge.
Another wonderful chapter.
