Just an avid reader who somehow stumbled into HP fanfiction. I read and sometimes, I write.

Very intriguing beginning! In a short space you've given us plenty of clues to start speculating about what's going on here...

Lovely story, thank you!
Absolutely perfect! This is the best story I've read in a long time. Thank you so much for writing it.

Thank you so much for the lovely review! I'm so glad you enjoyed the story. :)
This has been such a satisfying story to read, and I am grateful that you gave Severus the opportunity to live his legacy. With two fine children and good friends and their parents all happy together is the best.Thank you for this brilliant and romance fill story of what happened after their initial bonding before the war ended. Your story is as good as it gets!Hugs you lots,Beth

Thanks so much, Beth, for all the lovely reviews! I'm thrilled that you enjoyed this story! :D *squishes*
Benjamin Prince Snape, born on Christmas Day - and I love his name. What a wonderful Christmas present for his mum and da.
I love Severus' desire to bind himself to Hermione the same way she is bound to him. It is a testament of his great love for her that he would want to do that. Especially after he had been bound to two masters for so many years. But then there is no resemblance between being bound to Hermione and having been bound to Dumbledore or Voldemort. Not in the slightest. This binding will bring each of them joy, not servitude.
It is a good thing.

What a great chapter, Shug! There are so many things I loved about it, but my favorites would have to be:
Severus unceremoniously informing their dinner guests Hermione was tired and "that time was up and to get out" of the house.
The two of them romantically spooned in the bed with his hand rested on her bare stomach, his long fingers splaying over the small bump.
Severus swearing at his walking stick and Hermione telling him that she wasn't wearing any knickers as they walked through the MoM on the way to the ceremony awarding him the Order of Merlin, First Class.
The name Severus and Hermione chose for their son. It is a good strong name for a boy.
The fun they had a the Burrow and Hermione poking her belly telling their baby that he was going to be nothing but trouble.
And last, but certainly not least, when Severus was in such a hurry to get Hermione to St Mungos that he Apparated without her... and had to come back to get her. LOL! I loved it!
Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got to go find out what's happening at the hospital.
Beth
Whew! Thank goodness Hermione and the baby are all right. I smiled when Severus grabbed those crutches and fled to Hermione as fast as his good leg would take him. Good man, he is.
When he told her that the reason he had told Harry to look at him was so he could see her reflection in Harry's glasses I cheered. That is bloody brilliant, Shug.
I am beyond delighted that both of them are all for giving "this marriage business a try." Thank Merlin for Fawkes!
Woo hoo!
Beth
If Severus had to be a dunderhead, I at least glad that Eileen had the sense to sit and calmly talk with Hermione to find out just exactly what had happened.
I hope the Healer's potions will help Severus get stronger, but before that can happen, I hope the Healer will be able to stop Hermione's threated miscarriage.
Please let that baby be safe. Please. And now I'm off to find out.
Beth
Ah, so he has read or heard that Hermione is married. Or perhaps she talked in her sleep. Well that explains why he looked so angry when he watched her leaving his room this morning. Silly man. Now I just wonder what he is going to do or say when he finds out the she is married to him.
You're great with literary twists and turns, m'dear. One of the best. And once again I'm off to the next chapter. (There is something to be said for reading a fic that is already complete.)
Beth
I love how you've written Eileen Snape! I always thought she would had to have a lot on the ball to have a brilliant son like Severus, but canon gave me little to base that on. I like that she is a strong woman who took charge of her life and made her own way with her own wits and industry. It made me very happy when Severus read in the Daily Prophet that Hermione was alive. Something tells me that Fawkes has had a lot to do with seeing that Severus survived and will probably play a role in his future, as well. When Hermione came to his room at his mum's house, I wanted to cheer. I'm so glad he realized it was her when she spoke. Now I'm wondering if she brought their child with her. Thanks for another fabulous chapter. And I'm off to the next one.Beth

*iz a dunderhead* The baby hasn't been born yet. Errr... I got ahead of myself, didn't I?Beth
Woo hoo! Yes, yes, yes, Severus is alive!!!
Now where is he? Is he still suffering from Nagini's attack? Is he in a coma? Does he even remember that Hermione going to have his child? Does he remember anything? Does he even know who he is?
Gods, woman. This is going to be quite a ride. And now I have to get my arse over to the next chapter.
*hugs you*
Beth
Whoa! I haven't read this before, and the thought that Hermione is going to have Severus' child is too awesome for words!
I hope Harry and Ron will still be supportive of Hermione, but either way I'm thrilled. I'm looking forward to seeing where you take my favorite characters... I hope Severus is still alive and recovering from his injuries... I'm just saying.
Great, great chapter, shug!
Beth
OMG! What a compelling beginning. I saw this rec'ed and the title seemed familiar, and I can't remember if I read it anywhere else... and that doesn't really matter because I'm going to read it again anyway. I can't wait to find out more about this Living Legacy!
Beth
no matter how many times I read this story I always have to read it again and again
Response from sshg316 (Author of Living Legacy)
Oh, thank you so much! I'm so glad to know it holds up well enough on a re-read. :)
I love Ben and Abigail, and am so glad you didn't have them sorted into "Gryffindor triumphant" *humph*. Their happiness is complete, as the Grangers are reconciled to them and their grandchildren --just so. This is the perfect sequel/ending to DH. yeah! Rose and Hugo aren't Hermione's!!
Response from sshg316 (Author of Living Legacy)
Thank you! I'm glad you liked my version of the epilogue. *grins*
my liking and admiration of Eileen Prince knows no bounds. excellent story--you've given Severus everything he so richly deserves.
Response from sshg316 (Author of Living Legacy)
I'm so glad you like Eileen! I really grew to enjoy writing her. Severus definitely deserved more than JKR gave him. But that's what we're for, right? :) Thanks so much!
clever clogs tying this into that other epilogue
Response from sshg316 (Author of Living Legacy)
Thank you! :)
Oi! Great twists in this chapter. So now the question is - if Snape is alive, where is he? And I love how you didn't make Ron a dumb-as-beans twerp.
Response from sshg316 (Author of Living Legacy)
Thanks,
Response from sshg316 (Author of Living Legacy)
! I usually try not to make Ron too much of a prat. *grins* Glad you enjoyed it!
Hermione's goodbye was heartbreaking. I like how you brought Bill in for the discussion. And the line about his loyalty putting Hufflepuffs to shame - so true!
Response from sshg316 (Author of Living Legacy)
Thank you! I'm glad you liked the Hufflepuff line -- it really is true. I think Severus Snape really encompasses the best qualities of all the houses. :)
Yay! Happy ending all round. After all the tension and drama it feels like a bit of a come down, but you have finished it off beautifully and tied it up in a fluffy pink bow. Nice one! :D
Response from sshg316 (Author of Living Legacy)
Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed the story overall. :)
That is soo beautiful, the fact that Severus is willling to bind himself to Hermione as she is to him. Very romantic! All's well that ends well. (emphasis mine)
Response from sshg316 (Author of Living Legacy)
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the conclusion. :D
Thank you for this story. YOu have fulfilled the requirements and cleverly explained Hermione's presense with Ron at the station that day, and you've given us Abigail as well as eileen PRince. I look forward to the sequel you mentioned! The Blue-haired cassanova! LOL I hope he ends up with Abigail. He's far too old for her right now, but in a few years.....
Response from sshg316 (Author of Living Legacy)
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed the conclusion to the story. :) As for Teddy and Abigail ... the first chapter of their story just posted.
Excellent ending - the children's characters were very good. I loved the ending of how they left the platform together - good job.
Response from sshg316 (Author of Living Legacy)
Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed the conclusion. :)
I love the names you chose for the children: "Son of the Right Hand" and "Delight of the Father"---!!! Perfect!I've so enjoyed this story. This is definitely one for the "keeper" list. Thank you!
Response from sshg316 (Author of Living Legacy)
Thank you so much! I thought the names were very fitting, so I'm glad you think so, too! :)
