Just an avid reader who somehow stumbled into HP fanfiction. I read and sometimes, I write.
Reviews for Living Legacy
It's such a good chapter!Poor Severus, his mind is a real mess. Could you imagine planning to love your wife and son because you love them? Talk about misguided love! I really wanted to step inside the story and shake him (or kick him in the...) to make him realise how stupid he was. Luckily, his mother set him straight. And I loved Ben, he seemed such a happy baby... I wonder if he'll be a Slytherine like his father...
Response from sshg316 (Author of Living Legacy)
Thank you! Yes, Severus really is an emotional wreck. Luckily, Eileen really knows how to handle her son. ;)I'm so glad you enjoeyd Ben. I imagine him as the sweetest little baby. As for being in Slytherin ... we'll see! ;)More to come soon ... I'm getting ready to upload the epilogue right now. Thanks, again!
Very realistic take on Severus' fears of being like his Dad. I went through something similiar after my daughter was born, I thought she would be better of without me because I would only screw her up, but I learned running away is never the anwer. I'm glad Severus had his Mum there to get him to see the truth of the matter.Great chapter!Livvy

Thank you! And yes. A lot of new parents go through this, I think. You're right; running away isn't the answer. We just love them and try our best. ;) More to come very soon ... getting ready to post the epilogue right now. Thanks, again!
Severus fretting over his son--that's about the most bittersweet thing I've read! Lovely chapter.
Response from sshg316 (Author of Living Legacy)
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter. It was bittersweet to write, so I'm thrilled that came through!More to come very soon ... I'm getting ready to post the epilogue right now. ;) Thanks, again!
Haaaa Haaaa- Oh that was good - him leaving without her - that was funny as Hell. Her standing there in labor waiting for him to come back - that was gold.
Response from sshg316 (Author of Living Legacy)
Thank you so much! Husbands do the strangest things when their wife is in labor. LOL ;) More to come soon. Thanks, again!
Nice to be able to get to know Eileen. I always thought that she'd be the parent Severus inherited all his attractive qualities from. This is just how I'd imagine her. Instead of OBHWF ad nauseam, this is what I wanted from JKR *shrug* and you've taken care of that plot bunny nicely. Oh oh--I take it that Severus heard of Hermione's 'nuptials' via the DP?
Response from sshg316 (Author of Living Legacy)
Eileen was so much fun to write. I'm glad you're enjoying her!As for how Severus heard about the nuptials ... next chapter! LOL (Which by the time I write this, you've alreayd read!) ;)Thank you again!
Good for Eileen, she got fed up and left Mr. Snape rather than let him walk all over her. I can't think of a better or more appropriate woman (other than Hermione, 'course) who would give Severus the TLC he so richly deserves. (I'm no LEP fan so. . . *meh*) But I confess to being a bit befuddled--did Severus portkey? apparate? to his Mum after getting bit by N. or is this right after he did the Vertical Tango w/Herms?
Response from sshg316 (Author of Living Legacy)
Ahh ... there's a bit one of the scenes with Eileen where she mentions a certain phoenix ... ;) There will be more on that in a later chapter.I'm glad you liked Eileen. I really wanted to redeem her a bit. ;) I agree with you on Lily. I don't think JKR did her character any favors in The Prince's Tale. Thanks, again!
Whee!! Not only is Snape going to be a father, he's alive!!!! Didn't think he wanted Hermione to be an unwed mother, even if it was only *shudders* temporary. *whines* *wants to go to their baby shower*
Response from sshg316 (Author of Living Legacy)
He is! :D Baby shower? Oh, how I wish I would have thought of that. *pictures Severus playing the "how fast can you diaper a baby game* Hmm... he'd probably cheat and use a spell. ;)Thank you!
I'm glad that Hermione's preggers (no surprise). No one is more deserving to have his family line continued than Severus Prince Snape. I just wish that she and Snape did it the old-fashioned way , the good ol' innie-outie, instead of the WizWorld's answer to I.V.F. Yes, ITA with the other posters who pointed out that Bill makes a much more suitable candidate for the mysterious red-headed man than Ronniekins.

Thank you! I'm glad you're enjoyint hte story thus far!
Spectacular!!! I love the image in Harry's glasses. How creative, how devious, the lengths we go to to get them together. Thanks.
Response from sshg316 (Author of Living Legacy)
Thank you! Yes, we will figure out any possible way, won't we? lol
Thank you very much, tear of laughter are still running over my face and I get these weird giggle attacks. Can't wait for "Son of my right hand" to be born, so hurry with the update.gab
Response from sshg316 (Author of Living Legacy)
Thank you! I'm so pleased to have tickled your funny bone. ;) More to come soon, probably Sunday night. Thanks, again!
A very sweet and lovely distraction! Can't wait to meet the baby.
Response from sshg316 (Author of Living Legacy)
Thank you so much! We'll meet the new baby very soon! ;)
Wipes coffee off of keyboard . . . Perfect wizarding equivalent of the expectant husband--disapparating without her!
Response from sshg316 (Author of Living Legacy)
Thank you! I certainly thought it fit -- my own experience has been that husbands do the oddest things in these circumstances. I just couldn't resist! More to come soon!
ROFL! I love how he left her behind. Can you imagine how many wizards have done that same thing to their wives?
Response from sshg316 (Author of Living Legacy)
LOL Probably about as many muggle husbands have left their wives standing on the curb! ;) It's been my experience that husbands do very strange things indeed when faced with a wife in labor. ;)More to come soon! Thank you so much!
This is just so sweet! I love this Severus - tender and caring and distracted enough to forget to bring her along on the first try. That little boy (and I can't wait to hear the actual name!) is a very lucky fellow! And the gently elucidated lemons were perfect!
Response from sshg316 (Author of Living Legacy)
Thank you so much, m'dear! Poor Severus -- it's been my experience that husbands do the strangest things when faced with a wife in labor. LOL I couldn't resist. Glad you liked my "fade to black". ;) More to come soon. Thanks, again!
Making Severus disapparaiting alone was such a great idea, I was laughing aloud in front of my computer, I'm sure my sister thinks I'm insane.Update soon please, I would like to know the child's name
Response from sshg316 (Author of Living Legacy)
I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter! I hope your sister things you're just a little bit insane. ;)More to come soon. Thank you so much!
Ah, fluffy goodness, a perfect way to spend a lunch hour! And a christmas baby too, how sweet. I want to see what name they've picked, if my bible classes from childhood serve me right, isn't Benjamin 'Son of my Right Hand'?
Response from sshg316 (Author of Living Legacy)
Thank you so much! When I was figuring out the dates for Hermione's pregnancy given an April conception, I thought a Christmas baby would be sweet. I couldn't resist. *whispers* And yes, you would be right about the name. ;)Thanks, again! More to come very soon.
Great chapter, thank Merlin for Ginney!I also thought Severus forgetting his wife on the trip to St. Mungo's ws a hoot.
Response from sshg316 (Author of Living Legacy)
Ginny certainly leant a helping hand there, didn't she? LOLI'm glad you liked the way it ended. Husbands certainly do the oddest things when faced with a wife in labor.More to come soon! Thank you!
Typical expectant father in a blind panic. Fabulous chapter.
Response from sshg316 (Author of Living Legacy)
Thank you! Yes, very typical ... at least in my experience! LOL More to come soon!
That ending was hilarious! Another great chapter.Livvy

Response from livvy6 (Reviewer)
You are so right! When we had our daughter, I couldn't even yell at my husband because he cried during my whole labor. He would rub my arm and look at me with these huge sad brown eyes like he he was trying to say, "I'm so sorry I did this to you." He wouldn't eat, wouldn't leave to take a break. I felt so sad for him! :)Livvy
a lovesick puddle of gelatinous goo But that's exactly how we like our Severus!Such a lovely piece of fluff this is! And how nice to have that final Shrieking Shack scene replayed. I'm glad you're planning to take your time with the wrap up, especially as we still have a consummation devoutly to be wished for! Lovely, lovely.
Response from sshg316 (Author of Living Legacy)
LOL We certainly do like him that way -- or snarky. Either is good ... both is better. ;)I'm so glad you're enjoying this, hon. But ... um. *points to rating* We'll be fading to black this time. ;)*hugs* More to come soon!
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Reviewer)
Oh, I can live with a discrete fade out (shots of trains entering tunnels, curtains blowing on the wind, fireworks), as long as the clinch is suggested and the ending is happy!
Loved the latest chapter and how you twisted DH into it was her that he was looking at through Harry's glasses and not him - what a good idea. Cannot wait for your next chapters.
Response from sshg316 (Author of Living Legacy)
Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed that part. Keeping this fic 100% DH-compliant within the parameters of the prompt I was given was quite a challenge. Figuring out a way to explain that scene was a huge relief. LOL More to come soon ... prepare yourself for fluffy goodness. ;)Thanks, again!
Bless you. You did not make me wait too long, He can budge up to me anytime. Lovely,

No more cliffies, I promise. :) Thank you so much!
Oh, I KNEW there was another explanation for Snape looking at Harry when he thought he was dying! Why, you did not even leave us with a cliff-hanger, saving Snape's version of what happened at the Shrieking Shack for the next chapter... (;-)) Great story!
Response from sshg316 (Author of Living Legacy)
Hi, Hannah! I'm so glad you enjoyed the scene in the Shrieking Shack. :) And see? I can end a chapeter with no cliffhanger ... really! LOL Thanks so much!
I absolutely loved the scene where Severus bites on his thumb and his mother tries to stop his fretting. A Snape with nervous manniersm... How cute! (but we won't tell Severus he's cute, he would not take that very well). And I liked the discussion between Hermione and Severus, they seem to have a very strong friendship.Maybe you could next post a scene between Harry and Eileen Prince, where they share their respective view of Hermione and Severus? It could be fun.
Response from sshg316 (Author of Living Legacy)
Thank you! I had to give him a nervous habit -- just could not resist it. I'm glad you liked that part. :)What a good idea! I wish I had thought of that! More to come soon!
