This story gets better and better!

Christmas decorations- what a random yet completely fitting choice. My mother has the same box in the hall closet filled with all the ornaments we made as kids, and as our kids now make. It would be the perfect choice. All the smells that would come from that box, triggering memories.

A very intense chapter. It makes more sense than DH.

I just knew Severus would come up with a plan to save her parents. Now I cant wait to see how he gets himself out of tha mess.

This story is wonderful so far. I look forward to more of this story. You have woven it into the books with great expertise. Please hurry :)

Oh crap - well before I knew it was Severus there - it terrified me who the stranger was and now that I know it is him - I am terrified again at what he will have to do and what she will do - what a cliffie - next chapter please - bites fingernails......

Mere days after her loved one has cast the killing curse on Dumbledore, that very same man tells Hermione he was sent to kill her family - what a nightmare .... will she still BELIEVE? Her goodbye from Hogwarts, the scene at King's Cross, her coming home - like surrealistic pictures that stretch time and space with an underlying sense of impending doom. Love in the times of war is very vulnerable. Your way of writing is, needless to say yet again, fantastic!

This story just gets better and better.  Looking forward to the next chapter!

That was a horrible and mean thing to do! Really excellent writing. Hermione's emotional states were quite palpable, and the twist in the end was just brilliant.

Finally we get our reunion! But come on woman! Give us a least a hug between them. My oh my, what will our two lovers do now? How will Hermione react and what clever plan does Severus have? Will the Grangers find out that this man is his son-in-law?This is beetter than a GOOd soap opera. LOLGreat chapter as always and always waiting for more.

Oh. I wasn't sure you were going to let them meet face to face so soon, but I'm very glad you did. And it was just one thing I loved about this chapter.  I love the way you write her parents -- ignorant about magic, but definitely not clueless, and totally in tune with their child's character. The scene with Hermione, Parvati and Lavender had such an underlying sadness, so sensitive to the huge gap that's opened up due to Hermione's new knowledge. Then, the final scenes at Hogwarts and on the train were fantastic imaginings of what it could have felt like for the three friends during that last farewell -- kind of understated but so intense. This story has turned into such a satisfying look into the hidden corners of canon.

Bloody Hell!  I am salivating on my keyboard in anticipation of the next chapter.  This is the most intriguing fic I have read in a long time.  It's good that she still believes in him and so sad that they both love the other but cannot say anything because it's too dangerous to do so.  Please update soon.

Wow. Just love this story. I see the next chapter is already in queue and I can't wait to read it. I was hoping that it was Snape in her home and I'm glad Hermione took the time to really look at him - into his eyes. I am very excited to see how they handle this situation or if this story continues to be compliant with the books and her parents are sent away with memory mods. Great writing as always!!

I suspect I have just compulsively read a story that will end up as one of the classics of our genre.  Congratulations on an excellent story.  Your characterizations are vivid, your interpretation of canon in a new way is intriguing, and your dialogs (internal and otherwise) are extraordinary!

This gets better with every chapter!  I was so happy when Snape showed up to see Hermione and her reaction to him was perfect.
