Grape Forever!
Reviews for Second Life
My fingers and toes are crossed that Hermione and Severus will have a mini vacation in Austrailia while getting her parents situated. Or have I had too much wine to drink?
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
I wish that was the plan!! So much!! Perhaps I, too, should drink some wine and see what happens?
You know I only Half Blood Prince once. I tried to listen to audio book but I could not stand it. Somehow listening to the words was even worse than reading it. Your chapter grounded me. I find Snape or Hermione's POV is a much calmer place to be than JKR puts me. “Believe,” Could there be a more poinant word? Does Hermione understand what Moody is telling her? Please let her not fall apart, let her trust in Severus. wimperNo more masters, he thought. “Avada Kedavra!”this is a pitch perfect thought for Severus. How terrible for him to be caught between Dumbledore and Voldy. Be free Severus be free!
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
I'm very glad that chapter worked for you. It was very hard to write, and I worried a lot about where Severus found the motivation to wield the AK. Be free, Severus! Indeed. :)
I felt a bit more hatred for Dumbledore when he had the stones to remind Snape that his marriage is only to protect Potter. Makes me want to string him up by the puppet strings. I am so glad they were able to have one more night of intmacies together. To affirm their marriage, to make memories . This was an excellent chapter. I predict dispair coming up! meep
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
Thanks, and yes, Dumbledore often makes me want to become violent. :)
Wow hell of a cliffy here, very good job
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
Thanks! More soon, to resolve horrible cliffies...:)
Hermione reacted like a solider. That was great. I'm so glad she got to hug Severus as himself. I was getting a little sick at the image of her hugging his disguised image of the portly fellow. It looks like it is time to plan again. What can they do to save Hermione's family and still please the Dark Lord? A simulacrum?
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
I was proud of her. :) I'm glad it worked for you. And yes, there's something squicky and wrong about Dissimulo!Severus. More soon. Thanks for reading and reviewing!
That was absolutely intense! The chapter was a thrill to read and I can hardly wait for the next. :)
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! More to come quite soon...
Lariope, my dear, I do not know what will become of me if you keep toying with my emotions with your remarkable writing! From the very start of this chapter there were tears in my eyes. Hermione's conversations with Lavendar and Parvati and then the Fat Lady were so touching and yet they still had a touch of humor. I'm so glad that Severus is remaining true to Hermione. I can't wait to see how Severus gets out of this predicament--how he will not kill the Grangers, but not have Voldemort find out that he hasn't done it. I'm dazzled by your ability to weave so much emotion into your writing and I absolutely cannot wait for more!
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
Thank you so much. I'm really glad this chapter worked for you. Saying goodbye to Hogwarts was very hard. The next chapter should be up tomorrow... so answers will at least begin soon. :)
I found myself counting the women who Severus touched all through the dance and poor Hermione was in a similar situation! How ever will he get himself out of this one??
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
I know!! As I wrote it, a part of me sat with her in that room and watched the ring flaring. Horrible!!

Oh, you... you... Lariope! Leave us hanging! And they said on Ash that I have evil cliffhangers? Oh, this takes the cake.
Before I further vent, let me say that I really liked how she cried onto her mum at the station, getting to be a child one last time. It was very poignant. And is just me, or does Snape's "opposite" disguise bear a bit of a similarity to the real Ron? Hm. Maybe just me.
Excellent again.
Author's Response: I never thought of that, but Snape and Ron are pretty close to true opposites, aren't they?
Thank you so much.
"But I’m going to listen to him, and I’m going to learn from him. And we’ll see who eats their words.” That was an unfortunate turn of phrase for Hermione wasnt it? Its going to be tough to eat her words. There is loads of story left isnt there? Woo hoo!!!
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
Yes, I thought so too. Thanks for noticing!!Loads and loads left. I figure 45 chapters give or take. :)
Does he finally understand?!? Men are so stinking thick some times! Now quit torturing Hermione and get back to naked time!
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
Back to naked time, indeed! I want t shirts printed with that!
Response from MollysSister (Reviewer)
You could probably sell them at Portus to all the fangirls!!
| Well my dear friend, * *Like I've said before...A-W-E-S-O-M-E !! \O/ | Can't wait for the next chapter.... / \

(oops, I was trying to do a cheerleader but the body and pompoms ended up in the wrong spot! lol)
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
Thank you,
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
! I love the cheerleader, who appears to have thrown things into the air. :)

Wow, what a cliffhanger! And a really good chapter. I'm really curious how you're going to find a solution to the "kill the Grangers"-question...
Author's Response: I hope you find the answer satisfying. Thank you so much!
Well, at least he's honest for once. But could they have a tiny little snogging session before they part ways again? Great work, as usual.gab
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
I wish so much that they could! We'll have to see...Thank you so much for reading and reviewing.
There are not enough stars worthy of this amazing work. You had me in tears at her departure from Hogwarts, even when she was just saying goodbye to her dormmates, and then laughing at discovering the Fat Lady's real name (I'll be no one has ever thought to ask before!) and Brunhilde's retort on hearing it spoken (and you're so wise: "Yes, laughing was the right way to go."), and then in trembling suspense as she headed to her parents' house to find out who was waiting for her. You got her parents exactly right, and you have us fearing for them even when we know what will happen to them (though not how it will happen, and that's another fascinating detail you have added). Not only do you continue to really think things through in terms of how this story fits in with canon, but you actually take your time with each episode, which is what gives it incedible emotional resonance and dramatic heft. Nothing is rushed. And wherever it brushes up against canon, it feels completely fresh, as you show us the story we know through entirely new eyes. And then when you show us the story we are reading for the first time, well, you simply take my breath away with what you are accomplishing here. I've said it before, and I will repeat it, I am sure, many times to come, but this is exquisite. You just blow me away.
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
Thank you so much for this lovely review. You've spoken to so many things that frighten me and elate me, and make the writing of this story the most challenging and wonderful thing I've ever had the pleasure of doing. Thank you for reading and for being a part of this with me.
Surely he can't kill them. That's not apropriate to kill one's future bride parents?
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
Well, she's already his wife. But still, it does seem inappropriate. LOL!
Wonderful as usual! Watching Severus watch an older version of her was really nice. I like the way you've got the characters really in tune. Their actions and reactions to one anther are really working for me. *patiently waits for more*
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
I could not be more delighted to hear that. Thank you so much!
((happy dance))they had a kissy face moment!!
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
Yay! I'm glad you enjoyed it. ;)
Oh I wish they could have slipped into bed for a cuddly rest of the night.
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
Me, too. ;)
Not the usual sort of "Severus meets Hermione's parents"! I'm trusting the next step is memory modification and shipping the Grangers off to Australia... It must have been a relief for Severus to realise that she has, indeed, understood the plot!
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
This is true! Mum, Dad, meet my husband. He's here to kill you. LOL. Thanks for reviewing! I hope you like the next chapter.
“So, instruct me,” she said.“I beg your pardon?” I enjoyed the double meaning of those lines! You had me giggling. And the swooping down into tears with the ending of the chaper. Oh Severus you dont beleive what you see in her mind so why do you push so?
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
I'm very glad you got that. I think you were the only person to mention it. :)
well leave it to serveus just to put it all out there this must be where they come up with the idea of transfiguring her parents memmories i like what you are dooing keep up the good work
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
Thank you, my dear Faula Tara. I'm glad you're still enjoying it!
Oh I had hoped they were going to do animangus training! Still that spell was pretty cool.
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
I'm glad you liked the spell. :)
I was hoping for a quickie in Snape's office! Bummer! I am very much enjoyinig your version of HBP have I told you that lately? Yes very much.
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
You and I are always hoping for the same things, and then I go and thwart us. Thank you so much.
Response from MollysSister (Reviewer)
Well if I keep begging, perhaps the muse will give in from time to time
Dumbledore goes to far with his manipulating. I can see why Snape is pissed, I wish Hermione would be angry too
Response from Lariope (Author of Second Life)
I agree that Dumbledore has pushed incredibly hard. I don't think Hermione has yet experienced as much of this side of him as Snape has. Thanks for reviewing!
