You just have to update very, very, very soon!!! I have to read about that talk they are going to have! I felt so sorry for Severus, you really wrote that part of the story brilliantly!!!Update soon!
Response from KingPig (Author of Conversations)
Lol, thank you so much!! I hope you enjoy the next chapter just as much – and it *is* longer, as promised!
I CAN'T WAIT FOR MORE.I WAS HOPEING SEVERUS AND HERMIONE WOULD KISS,THERE WAS SOO MUCH ENERGY FLYING BETWEEN THEM,JUST WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF THE DOOR HAD'NT OPENED WHEN IT DID?
Response from KingPig (Author of Conversations)
Ah, I think the characters were much too infuriated with each other to think about a kiss. I think there would have been a duel had they not been interrupted!
Thank you so much!
What an intriguing start to a story! Poor Severus - having Remus tell about his childhood made me want to go and hug him, but then the present-day canon!Snape makes an appearance, and - well, hugging isn't exactly an option, is it? ;-) And apprenticing with him... Hermione's never one to take the easy way!
I'm looking forward to the talk between the four of them.
Response from KingPig (Author of Conversations)
Lol, no, Hermione never takes the easy way! And she won't let Snape bully her out of the job, either – though he's trying his best!
Thank you so much, and I hope you'll enjoy the next chapter – it's being beta'd now :)
Hmm, still very interesting. A Slytherin being as unsubtle as saying "we need to talk" can never be a good sign. I can't wait for that dialogue! Great writing.
Response from KingPig (Author of Conversations)
Thank you so much! Minerva has a lot to say about this situation, though probably not what Severus was *hoping* she'd say. I hope you're pleased with the next chapter, it's being beta'd now.
You are doing a great job building up tention! Gosh I even had goosebumps (although I'd love Severus to be paying attention to me! LOLOL)! I am looking forward to a longer chapter though. Toottles.
Response from KingPig (Author of Conversations)
Thank you so, so much! I was afraid I wouldn't be able to build up the necessary tension – I have a habit of flitting around and not being quite coherent, and I'm so lucky to have a beta like Angel Mischa to help me out!
Thank you again so much! I hope you'll enjoy the next chapter, it's being beta'd now!
Hurrah. Another chapter. Glad to see it. I like the interaction between Lupin and Snape -- and honestly, I have never really thought about Lupin and Greyback. But, it is something, I think, which should be considered with Lupin's character, particularly when interacting with Snape.
Response from KingPig (Author of Conversations)
I'm so glad to see you say that! I think it's often overlooked, and was never truly explained in canon – I think Lupin's childhood could rival Snape's own in horrors, which is what I hope to delve into in upcoming chapters. But where Lupin found acceptance, Snape found rejection – I wonder if the two would mirror each others lives if the tables were turned? Hmm, another story for another time, I guess.
Excellent! Loved the confrontation with Lupin. Severus on the edge! Keep up the good work. Can't wait for more!
Response from KingPig (Author of Conversations)
Thank you so much!! Chapter 3 is being beta'd, so stay tuned! (And Snape will still be on edge, now because of Minerva. Poor Severus, he can never just be agreeable, can he? I told him to hush, but he just kept opening his mouth... *sigh*)
Response from livvy6 (Reviewer)
LOL- I can't stop laughing. There was another fic I read where Snape reacted to a situation SO BADLY that I replied to the author and said, "My God, just when yu think Snape can't muck it up any more, he then goes and screws the pooch!"
I swear, Snape is a psychiatrist's delight!
Good Luck getting him off the ledge! He's pretty high octane in this fic. But I LOVE it!

Response from KingPig (Author of Conversations)
Oooo wouldn't that be a great fic? Snape in therapy!
Brave Hermione! I'm sure Severus is impressed!
Response from KingPig (Author of Conversations)
LOL, I'm not sure "impressed" can quite describe what he's feeling at that particular moment... stay tuned, Minerva joins the conversation in the next chapter, which is currently being beta'd!
I LOVED THIS CHAPTER,IT MADED ME WANT TO CRY!YOU CAUT SEVERUS HEAD RIGHT!WRITE MORE SOON!
Response from KingPig (Author of Conversations)
Thank you so much! It's difficult to really get into Severus' head, but not nearly as difficult as trying to get out. I hope you enjoy the next chapter, it's posted now!
Oooh! Now, this is gonna be intriguing. I will be awaiting the next chapter.
BTW I find, you quite nicely made use of the cruel and ignorant streak present in Albus (as evident from the books). Thought it's magnified, it doesn't seem (too) OOC to me :) so, well done.
I just hope, there will be (in due time) an explanation WHY Lupin told all this to Hermione. I understand that it was needed to get the story going, but I do hope there is another reason, because it seems.. I don't know... quite forced. I can't imagine Lupin just telling all this personal stuff (about our private bat, of all people...) But, well, if there isn't another reason, I'll simply have to forgive you :)
Response from KingPig (Author of Conversations)
Lol, aww thank you so much! In the third chapter, which is being written right now, Lupin touches on the reason why he told Hermione the personal past of Severus Snape. We'll also be hearing of McGonagall's impressions of child Snape in upcoming chapters!
Thank you again, so so much!
Great beginning. I like your explanation for Dumbledore's tolerance of the Marauders' bullying -- at least it has its own logic, even if it isn't admirable. But what a cruel cliffie to end with! Now I've got to pace around waiting for chapter two (sniffle).
Response from KingPig (Author of Conversations)
Oh, don't pace too anxiously! Another chapter is on its way, I promise! (I had to rewrite it then resubmit it to my awesome beta Angel Mischa... my apologies on taking so long!)
Thank you so much for your support, it means the world to me!
I love the way this is starting out, keep up the good work.
Response from KingPig (Author of Conversations)
Thank you so, so much! I hope you stay tuned for the next chapter, which is being beta'd by the fantastical Angel Mischa!
Response from sinbad (Reviewer)
You have been bookmarked, so I am looking forward to your next posting!
Great start! I loved this first chapter. I think that I am going to...well, not really enjoy, per se, but, hmm, be intrigued by your portrayal of Dumbledore's relationship with Severus. I can't wait to read more!
Response from KingPig (Author of Conversations)
Thank you so much for the encouragement! I was a little afraid that people might balk at my representation of Dumbledore, but I'm so pleased that you kept reading nonetheless! Like Snape in canon, Dumbledore will represent many shades of gray in this story, and I hope you hang on to see how it develops. I hope to explore their relationship a bit more in depth in later chapters, but before that, Minerva will get her say!
Thank you again so much, I really appreciate it!
This was an awesome fic! I'm so glad that it is not over, since there didn't seem to be enough for a one-shot. The story definitely deserves several more chapters. *winky winky* I always did think that the professors and Albus favored James and Sirius more than they should have. From the flashbacks in the Pensieve, etc. they didn't seem like very nice people. I hope Severus finds love and acceptance with Hermione. I hope to read more soon!
Response from KingPig (Author of Conversations)
Oh, thank you so much!!! Yes, I was always amazed that Dumbly could turn a blind eye to those boys. I'm glad other people see it the same way. Chapter two is being beta'd, fret not! And Snape and Hermione have a way to go until they even get near the acceptance part, much less love.
Stay tuned!

See, I told you there would be clamouring for more chapters. Just like there will be after chapter two goes up! w00t – more things to distract me from class!
Author's Response: Lol, thank you so, so, so much!!!
This isnt finished not by a long shot... If you don't finish this (and I mean really finish this) i think I will have to poke you and continue to poke you until you do lol
This is really good but honestly it needs more its not an ending but a climax soooo please please! (I will cry if you dont lol)
ok enough being annoying, it was really good and i hope you contiune to write more of it!
Cheers!
Response from KingPig (Author of Conversations)
Lol! Okay, you've convinced me! I'll have another chapter posted soon!
Gods, I hate Dumbledore. This is a very good story. However, it's one of those "one-shots" that begs for more chapters Maybe some of the other villagers will gather round and try to convince you?
Thanks for the read.
Response from KingPig (Author of Conversations)
Lol, thank you so much! Villagers have joined the ranks of Hermione and my muse in convincing me to continue the story. So, another chapter is being beta'd and will soon be posted!
Response from wolfen18 (Reviewer)
Woohoo!!!
This fic is marked as complete. Is this true, because it doesn't feel like it, and I'd very much like to read the conversation between Severus and Remus.
Response from KingPig (Author of Conversations)
It was complete, it was just one chapter. But Hermione and my muse teamed up together and attacked me relentlessly until I agreed to continue the story. So, have no fear, another chapter is coming (it's being beta'd)!
Response from septentrion (Reviewer)
Squee! I had added the story to my bookmarks, just in case.
-sputters- Butbut, you can't leave this as a one shot! It's far too poignant and strong and with so much potential for a further chapter (or more), that I'm really hoping you'll continue this story.
If not, I still very much enjoyed this story, and I'm glad you wrote and posted this. For a second ever fan-fic, it's pretty darn impressive. :)
Response from KingPig (Author of Conversations)
I am so humbled and amazed that you enjoyed this story so much! I cannot express how much this means to me - I am completely floored. But, good news! Another chapter is not being beta'd!! (I found I couldn't leave this story where it was either!)
Again, thank you so much!!
Please continue this story, there is so much potential, so very powerful! Well done!Livvy
Response from KingPig (Author of Conversations)
Thank you so much!! Wow, I had no idea that this story would be so well-received! Have faith, another chapter is being beta'd now!
Response from livvy6 (Reviewer)
*happy dance* Woo-Hoo!!!!! I can not wait to see how this fic is going to go. It is original and has so much potential to really delve into the painful side of Snape's past. Good Luck and I got you on my favs!

Thank you so very much! This means so much to me!! Stay tuned, I've written another chapter (or sequel?) to this story!
i liked how this was written. Though i hope you don't end it in a one-shot. Make it a full story. It surely has the right stuff to make it one.
Response from KingPig (Author of Conversations)
Thank you so much! I've actually got another chapter written and it's being beta'd right now! This review really means a lot to me, thank you so much!!
I know you put the 'epilogue, what epilogue?' warning, but you should seriously consider continuing this, as it is the finest piece I have read in a long time.
Response from KingPig (Author of Conversations)
Wow, thank you so much! You have no idea how much your support means to me! I actually have given a lot of thought on continuing the story, actually... I've already wrote a new chapter (or sequel?) and it's getting beta'd. *hugs* Thank you so much for all the encouragement!!
Another wrenching chapter, well worth waiting for! (Still, should the spirit move you to finish another one ahead of schedule, who am I to stop you?)I, too, am wondering where she expects Severus to go? Yes, he needs to get away, but this Severus, even more than any other incarnation I've read, is not the Club Med type. He should indeed be relieved of his teaching burdens, but he's already such an isolated man that I wonder what place or activity might give him relief? (I know how Hermione would like to relieve that stress, but that's quite another matter! The woman herself has been too long absent, though, so perhaps she does in fact figure in the cure.)I do believe that Minerva's regret is real, and now that Remus knows the full story, he shows his goodness by being ashamed, as well. Was that conversation played out in the presence of Albus' portrait?Anyway, very well done, as always. I'm really looking forward to seeing where you take this.
Response from KingPig (Author of Conversations)
Thank you so very much! I just adore your reviews!I must confess that he's not going anywhere out of the norm, just to Spinner's End...Hermione will be, of course, making an entrance again soon - I just want to take some time and show the developing relationship between RL and SS and MM. There's so much more I want to say, as I've already started the next chapter (without finishing my exchange fic *headdesk*), but all too often I open my mouth in these responses to reviews and then end up changing the entire next chapter, making everything I said null and void. So I'm trying to keep mum. Hope that made sense? Thank you so much!
Response from Elise_Wanderer (Reviewer)
Well, I don't want to impede progress on your Exchange fic, or make you change what you were planning to write here, but I'm a selfish little pig and want more of this!I'm interested to see Spinner's End in this particular context--it must be filled with horrible memories.(I'll stop writing now, so you can get on with it.)
Response from KingPig (Author of Conversations)
LOL! I'll try to get it out as soon as possible! And just to get you even more amped up - so far, in the next chapter, LM makes an entrance... ...With Snape......Alone.... (but not in the PWP way)And LM is not nice :(Ha! Now I'm off to work on the exchange fic! *giggles evilly*(P.S. - don't quote me on the above scene, it could change completely, lol.)

I really love this story so far! It's hard to imagine Severus as being so broken, given his personality. But it is understandable. I think he's starting to react better towards Hermione. But I'm wondering at the real reason why Pansy is there. I know she wants to be a Healer, but it seems there's more going on in the Malfoy household than anyone knows. Especially with how jumpy Pansy is. I'm looking forward to reading more.
Response from KingPig (Author of Conversations)
Thank you so much! Pansy definitely has an ulterior motive (I think that is the right word? I need a beta for my responses to reviews!), and it will come to light soon.I've always thought of Severus to be at least a little broken - he does have a strong personality, but there are aspects of it that seem to be red flags to me. His paranoia, his extreme isolation, his social retardation... the list goes on and on. This story is an attempt to bring to light the fact that though there is a little canon evidence that Snape was at least verbally/mentally abused, I think it's worth exploring, as well as the roles the other major characters played in his psychological development as a child. I hope this makes sense - my brain is fried from work...Thank you again!
