Oh man, when it rains it pours. At least Hermione seemed to come around when she saw that Severus was being summoned to a meeting.  Now doom/war is on the horizon along with what could have been happy news.  Severus seems to be in an impossible situation as he does not know what Draco's mission is or when it will take place, only where.

awww shite, talk about cruel and unusual punishments...... OK I'm trying to spit the hook, and I'm being reeled in and landed.  Great chapter, nasty cliffie.

Wow that was pretty powerful story! I read the first 3 chapters on MuggleNet, but then when I couldn't finish it, I decided to come here! It was great, I really liked it.

You did a really good job of relating the depth of her despair over the outcome of their holiday.  He semms to really love her; it's a shame that she's gotten cold feet too late.  Thank you for the update.

Oh no!! I'm crying right now...no really, I am...

I mean, I know that it's essential in order to be HBP compliant and all, but I hope that it could still happen after the war... 

I'm gonna have to take Hermione's side in this one. Not just because she's a girl and such, but who the heck does Snape think he is? He practically tells her in the previous chapter that he doesn't love her - now in this one, he gives her a freaking amazing emerald necklace (that's a family heirloom I might add) and then immediately expects that means he has the right to jump on her. And of course she responds because she's a hormonal teenager with a crush on her professor and she's oh so flattered that he likes her back. And then he has the audacity to tell her that he loves her over and over and of course she reciprocates because of course, what else is she to do in such a situation? She has this man who seems to worship her and tells her he loves her. He's totally disregarding the idea that maybe he should use some forethought before practically taking advantage of this young confused girl. And Hermione realizes their actions all too rash - too late of course. I know this is all necessary to the plot, being HBP compliant and all. And for that reason I love it. It irks me, but I love it. I'm just really disappointed in the two of them (now I sound like an old lady) that they didn't think about this. And surely Severus had this planned from the start. The contraceptive potion - then giving her his grandmother's emerald necklace! Grr. And Hermione, the poor girl, just abandoned her usual logical thinking for the heat of the moment.Having ranted my head off, I would like to congratulate you on a thoroughly marvellous integration of HBP and this amazing little HG/SS fic. Their incredibly complicated relationship is so much more realistic than what usually comes about in this genre. So, hats off to you, and I'm looking forward to your next update.

This is the first hg/ss story i have read..sadly my last ffor a while..computer is broken for two weeks. Anyway nice story and great chapter..my god has my made have a huge grin on my face and saying "AWW" in a room full people who think i'm nuts now.You really  handle  the hg/ss well , soft but still giving snape that edge he has.Snapedreamer ( I live again!)

Severus said the "idea was too young to induce heartbreak on both your part and mine." That sounds like he was heartbroken too. Despite the mask and part he plays, he seems so fragile and vulnerable to me.

Draco's a arrogant bigoted git.  Severus is being an insecure idiot.  Hermione is feeling insecure and is now angry.  I think you covered everything. What a day!
