What a suspensefull chapter. I can't wait for more. Does Severus know what's going on. Is the 'being' that helps her and walks with her in her thoughts the father of her son. I have so many questions. Will you share all the info with us in time. I can't wait for more info....

Do you mean whether Snape knows what's going on with Hermione or with the ambush? Hopefully the coming chapters will explain some more. Thanks for the review.
Whom did she merge with? The wolf? I thought a moment it was with Snape. Anyway, there was a lot of action in this chapter, and it was good!

No, it wasn't Snape - but I realise now it probably wasn't that clear. Glad you like the action - I had such fun writing it. Thanks for all your reviews :)
I really enjoyed your story. Very different to anything else I've read, and it was superbly written. Thank you for sharing!
thank you for an interesting story. will have to tell hubby about this when it's completed. he gets a little anxious when he wants to continue reading and the next chapter isn't ready. you should see how well he's holding up for book 7.
i can hardly wait to see why everyone is being so distant. and why is harry being such an ass??

lol I completely understand your husband. I almost never read wip so it's a bit strange for me to be on the other side of the coin and posting as I write. Thanks for the review ( and all the readers who do read wip!!)
Wow. This story is so freaking amazingly awesome I can't even review it properly. Such wonderful mysteries, being laid out so tantalizingly... Can't wait to read more!

. I am really enjoying writing this story as it wants to flow easily. So enjoyment all round, I suppose.
I'm really enjoying the dynamic you've set up, Harry slightly out of control, Ginny cold, Minerva firm and wonderful. Hermione up to amazing things as always.
Wonder where Snape is? How will he appear? must be there at the funeral. . . .
Wow! I'm glad I stumbled upon this one--it's just lush with yummy detail and potential. Looking forward to much more!
I love the ritualistic atmosphere you have in this story. There is a sense of realness in the rituals and beliefs portrayed by Hermione. Are you basing this religeon on anything real? If not...Its very realistic.Red

Ahhh that would be telling now, wouldn't it? And where is the fun in that? Thanks for your thoughts.
Lovely funeral and all, but what was that ritual Hermione performed in her room? Will we get to know? Even McGonigall felt perturbed by it. Lookimg forward to the next chapter, keep up the good work. Cheers!

A very mysterious chapter. I like the further touch of intrigue that you have just added to the story.

Thank you for all your reviews. I am glad you are enjoying it.
Another great chapter. Very poignant. Bill's words on death were quite touching. Well done!
Hmm? Where is this leading us? She has met a bunch of people at the wake, but surely something will come up and bite Hermione on the ***? LOLLooking forward to the next chapter. Cheers!
Very intriguing! I'm curious about all of Hermione's newly attained "powers" and her uses of them, so I'm really looking forward to reading more of your story. Of course, as a Southerner myself, I'm also curious as to the mannerisms she will display as a "Southerner" in the wizarding world. (By the way, is the "South" here the Mediterranean as in southern France, Italy, and Greece, or is it the south of Great Britian? As you have described it so far, I'm thinking strongly of a Greek island.) Nice atmosphere and suspense so far.
It's all very mysterious...and I am utterly enthralled. Great chapter, I can't wait for the next!

for taking the time to read and review -- much appreciated :)
Although this was an interesting read and was generally well written (I say "generally" because, as far as I can remember, there were no real mistakes but I'm not entirely sure), too much of it was left unexplained, or, at least, left unexplained until the very end. We don't learn until the end what creature Hermione's, er, "companion" is or what the name of the boy on the island is. What is Hermione's relationship with the boy on the island? Why and how is Hermione connected to this tiger creature? How specifically is the southern culture different from the one "we" would already know of? Also, we aren't even told where this "south" is other than that it's south of Hogwarts. We got a lot of little tidbits of information but the entire story feels a bit incomplete. The reader is left wanting a fuller understanding of the new culture you've introduced. This story would have been better if more information on the southern culture had been integrated into it.
Otherwise, this was a very innovative and original story idea and you did a primarily good job working with it.
I found this story by clicking on Random and I'm so glad I did. I needed something other-worldly and this was just incredible.Thank you for sharing. I have tears in my eyes!
